Tar Heel Traveler: New Journeys Across North Carolina

We enjoy reading about the places we have visited and hope to visit in NC. We also enjoy Scott Mason's show, Tar Heel Traveler.

Anyone who likes The Tarheel Traveler TV show will love this book. Scott Mason is great either way. Beautiful pictures, great stories. This is the second time I have purchased this book.

Interesting, well written stories. My wife and I both have enjoyed the read. Loved his TV show when he was in Richmond. Full disclosure: Scott is a cousin and a real nice guy, though I have’t seen him in quite a while.

Very interesting book, much in the mold of Charles Kurault stories.

Totally different from the show. Bought the my mother and she was very disappointed. Find some pages online before you buy, you will be surprised

I had read the book from our local library collection. We have family in NC and I was interested in the Travel stories. It did not disappoint. The author, Scott Mason is a news reporter, in search of unique stories. The chapters are short and the stories unique, folksie and engaging These are not about "Main Attractions" but about people and places that have a uniqueness that shines under the author's embrace. I purchased a copy to share as a gift with family. Very enriching!
