Review: Professional Butane Culinary Torch - I had concerns initially as this torch burner only fits on certain butane canisters which are hard to find anywhere locally via internet search. The torch burner itself is not expensive, but the shipping and handling of the butane canisters sold online are too high to be ignored for the overall cost. Luckily, I found out that Costco business centers carry them as lots of restaurants are using the butane burners which use the same type of canisters. So, without a second thought, I placed the order immediately. （Later, I bought Gasone butane canister and Iwatani butane canister on the desertcart. They are cheap and work well, too） I am glad I bought this torch. It is sooo easy to turn on and off, it is well made. Instructions are clear and simple. Flame its big and easy to control. The flame is around 22 cm when full throttle. I use it for cooking: creme brulee, searing beef, charring eggplants for Middle Eastern food, grilling skin side of fish fillets for interesting Japanese touch, getting the perfect texture on salmon belly, and touching up the skin of oven-roasted chicken. Pros: -Cheap Fuel -Steady, Hot, Wide flame -Adjustable flame intensity -Big. It sits well in the hand with a fuel can attached -Trigger for lighting the flame. No lighter or sparker required -Trigger does not control fuel flow. I thought this would be bad at first, but it would actually be a pain to have to hold the trigger down for extended use Cons: - It didn't come with a butane canister. And finally, don't buy this torch as a present to a kid. Do not even use this product creatively anywhere near a kid.

A: Yes, remove it when not in use - though I don't think it makes much difference either way. I always remove mine.

A: Yes, you can. I am a jewelry artist specializing in sterling silver. I use this torch for fusing and soldering, and anything else I can get away with.

These fuel cans are the ones that fit portable gas stoves used in cooking, or camp stoves. You could find them at sporting goods stores, restaurant supply stores, any store selling camping gear. Or you could buy from the Amazon , like Gasone or Iwatani Butane Fuel Canister . The fuel canisters last a long time!

**Q: Any smell of residue butane when used to sear steaks?**
A: I have tried it on numerous pieces of meat after cooking sous vide and have not noticed any odd smell or taste. I read somewhere to light the torch and wait a second or two to burn off any errant fuel before directing it towards the food. Hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good price, great for residential and small event.

Everything is good with this product, I'm a medium to moderate influenced and self-taught cook with many many hours in the kitchen commercial and especially residential. I have prepped and managed meals and kitchens plenty in my life. When it comes to a food grade kitchen torch it's amazing little tool to have definitely shaving minutes off of specific types of cooking and prepping as of melting some cheese on the top of a burger, braising some blue cheese on top of a filet 2 actually crisping the skin on a nice plump sausage instead of having to fire up that Grill. That is if you're forced into having to use electric stoves and such and don't have access, also of course there's some desserts As We Know creme brulee to caramelize the sugar and many recipes. This product is great for the price, comes in handy that's for sure has a nice feel while attached to the canister, the adjustable flame is great also ignition trigger starts every time so far. Now this is my fault, the torch did warped and melt due to Extended use, meaning it's not to be used for long periods of time. I used it to fire my new Wok and that was not a good idea LOL other than that it's sturdy but I don't recommend using this product to fire Wok for residential kitchen and temporary small events should be fine. All in all because I've melted mine at my fault and love the price, great bang for your buck I'm actually buying two more as we speak.
