Best brand and excellent product
Easy to assemble with clear instructions included. Some minor damage like bent probably due to shipping but overall , this is a gem especially if you’re looking for a space in your garage. Very sturdy and very good quality. I installed it by myself and it took me 3 hrs. the challenging part is how you locate and find joists. Even if you have a stud finder it is very difficult so if you have access to attic, it makes it really easy. Take note! Use impact driver and a 13mm socket coz i find it very hard to install the lag bolts from ceiling joists using a regular drill. Going to buy again and I recommend this product.

Well made
These shelves are well made, packaged well, and arrived in perfect condition. They included all parts necessary for the installation. I installed a total of three shelves in my garage and they are sturdy and look good. The installation is slightly challenging and sorry you are not going to get a shelf installed in an hour. I am totally satisfied with these shelves.

Check Your Trusses Before You Order.
Good quality storage rack. I got the 4x8 version. If you are a DIYer, assembly is fairly straight forward. Lots of parts to assemble so plan your time accordingly. It's all metal and is heavy. I'm 60+ and was able to install by myself but just barely. You can assemble alone but final installation (hanging) really should be done by two able people. Also, don't assume your ceiling trusses all run the same direction or are equally spaced. Yes, they should be and that's what I assumed without checking before ordering. To my surprise the trusses ran one direction for the first 4 feet then switched direction for the second 4 feet. This odd configuration greatly increased the installation difficulty for me, so check your trusses before you order. In the end, I'm glad I bought this rack and enjoy having more floor space now in my garage. I'd recommend this product.

Great ceiling storage in the garage
I bought and installed two of these. They are great for taking advantage of the wasted ceiling space in the garage in order to give you much more storage space as you can never have enough storage; and it greatly opens up the garage for your car(s) and work space. The downside to this is that the installation isn't the easiest, the directions are fair, the threads for the holes are not very good and their support is non-existent. Originally I had a difficult time with finding my studs (turns out I didn't have traditional studs in my ceiling and thus the challenge). On Amazon there was "professional installation" offered for an additional $100 expense. This seemed expensive and I didn't get it but after having issues with my studs, I considered purchasing it for one shelf and figured I'd watch and then know how to do the other. The Fleximounts support line is non-existent. No one ever picked up or returned voice messages. I resorted to calling Amazon. Amazon said the installation purchase was offered by Fleximounts not them and so you had to purchase it from them. She then called the company herself and they picked up for her (I'm thinking because they saw it was Amazon) but then she got the run-around and then they said they didn't offer the installation service, so I wouldn't recommend paying this as I'm not sure what you are really paying for. It is critical to have your measurements exact for mounting the ceiling brackets, so finding the studs perfectly is a must. Mine was very difficult and I resorted to cutting a 4"x4" square where one of the the studs should be; it turned out to be metal furring strips instead which made it even more challenging; but ultimately I got it done. For furring strips it is important to get the outside edges exact, so you can then find the dead-center (with furring strips you have to hit the dead-center for it to work). There are a couple of videos on youtube that are worth watching to get familiar with the overall process. One guy recommends leaving the vertical arms loose for the installation but I found it best to tighten it almost all the way done, with just the slightest looseness for hanging the shelf by yourself. Likewise don't do like the directions, but leave the shelf in two sections for installation if you have the 4'x8'. Connect two and then the other two so that it is a 4'x4' at that point and install them one at a time. Two arm ends have hooks to help the shelf stay up, the other two are the center pieces and have the slightest ledge to balance on so I put a screwdriver through one hole to help hold it in place and then put in the screw in the other hole. Then replace the screwdriver with a screw and then do the other holes. Once the two shelves are up, screw the centers of the two shelves together. This was very challenging as I found either the holes didn't line up or the threads were horrible. The majority of all the threads in the holes were manufactured really bad so the bolts screwed in really difficult for the majority of all the holes in the shelf part. One shelf I couldn't screw the centers together as the holes just didn't line up no matter what I tried, which even included turning the shelf around. If you use a drill, I recommend being very careful and DO NOT tighten it all the way down with the drill as the bolts will strip extremely easy which will make it impossible to take down later in time. It is best to stick to using a hand ratchet. When picking out your ceiling location, for true strength you need to make sure you span over multiple studs like their directions recommend, so your studs will dictate the direction of your shelves. Likewise I would not go flush with the wall because it'll make it impossible to screw in the bolts for the shelf. One recommendation which I thought was clever was to install the shelves over your garage door when it is open. Your height on the shelf can be set to what you want (it is somewhat flexible for your space with a max and min length). That space above the garage door is wasted but you will only get limited space, but it is a useful area to put a shelf. Once up and finished they are great. I wouldn't get physically on them as they only recommend a max of 150 lbs on each individual section. So with the stuff I put up on the shelves, I was conscious to balance out the weight. The videos say that they got the shelves done in a couple of hours. If you are like me that is capable but not some construction worker, and you are doing it by yourself, taking your time and triple measuring your stud locations, then this will be more like a day project (like 8 hours to install).

Sturdy Garage Storage
The storage does come in pieces and needs to be put together. It is extremely sturdy, and can fit a lot once you put it together. It is a great purchase, and not too expensive. We have not had any problems with it hooking into our garage ceiling.

Nice Sturdy Storage Solution
I put this 4' x 8' version up on my 9' garage ceiling so it only hangs down about 24 inches. I have 24" OC studs in my ceiling and with the rafter orientation I had to span across that gap with the ceiling brackets which of course are long enough to do so with about an inch to spare on either end. The layout and installation takes plenty of planning and measurements and a stud finder is a must if you have a finished ceiling. I'm 66 years old and I performed the entire installation without help. The only part that would require help is getting the 4' x 8' assembled deck in position to hang from the four corner vertical hangers. The corner hanging brackets are unique in that they have kind of a U-channel that you lower the deck into and it will hang prior installing any screws. I got the deck in place by using two ladders spanned by a big piece foam and it didn't take much to lift each corner and engage the vertical bracket. Then tighten all the screws and you're good. There are 6 vertical hanging straps on this unit which I thought made more sense than the four hangers on a similar size product at Costco.com. With an 8 foot long deck I would think supports in the center of that span makes everything more secure. And this product is about $50 cheaper than the Costco version. After tightening all the screws and supports it is quite solid with only a bit of movement which would be expected from a hanging structure like this. All in all, very satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it for getting stuff up out of the way. For the handy person it isn't a difficult installation, with some overhead drilling and driving lag screws into the rafters. The only (slight) complaint is, the hardware provided has absolutely no spares as sometimes these kinds of products do, so don't drop anything and let it roll away! I got down to the last screw on one of the center hangers and thought I was one screw short but it was in my pocket. Doh! Should have used a magnetic parts tray!

So far so good
We finally installed one of the two we bought of these. And boy what an install. First if you can find your rafters easily, you get 40 points. Then if you can get every screw in without trouble you get 10 more points. If you managed to get this looking straight without having to measure a thousand time 20 points. If you were able to put this up yourself 30 points and "I am not worthy" bowing to you All in all it did take some time to do this, but boy does it look awesome up. It is very sturdy as hanging, but it does sway side to side. We are thinking of putting bars slanted going from bottom of one side to top of the other. Maybe that will help. I will say this, I love the adjustable rods, you can keep it close to the ceiling or farther down you get to pick your height, we have it just about the middle and there is tons of room to place items. The one thing that irked me was that at least one screw at every step seemed to be not fully threaded right. I would have a hard time with one screw at each step of putting the shelf itself and hooking it to the bars. That was annoying. The blots were simple but the pre-threaded openings were a pain. This is function perfectly for story items in the garage, we have one at one wall and another will go on the opposite wall. Wahoo no more junk on the floor. Oh and hubby wants to mention, if you place this right up against the wall, it may be tough getting the shelf on as you need a little room to hold it all still. I say keep it at least a few inches from the wall.

Strong, good quality, fast delivery
The storage rack is very easy to setup, but probably needs 2 people to install. I’m not a handyman and the longest time was spent finding the studs on the wall. It will help a lot if you have some power tools, my hands & legs were so sore the next day as I don’t have power tools and have to tighten everything manually using the tools they provided. In the beginning during installation, I had to drill some holes to test for studs as my stud finder sometimes gave wrong readings. Once I know the location of the studs, it was easy to install. My wall studs (vertical) are 16 inches apart and there is a horizontal stud on top, while my ceiling studs are 24 inches apart. For the back of the rack, I screwed the ceiling bracket to the top of the wall, parallel to the stud. For the front of the rack, I screwed the ceiling bracket perpendicular to the studs on the ceiling. My son helped me by holding the ladder to make it steady, and lifting the wire grids as they’re heavy. Pros: * Smart design, hard to go wrong during setup & installation. For example, for the vertical brackets, there’s 2 of them, one with square holes and the other with round holes, if you make mistakes, the screw won’t fit in. * Strong, good quality, & durable rack * Hold 600 lbs. * Adjustable height * Comes with tools for installation * Fast delivery. When I ordered the 3x8 rack, delivery time shows 1 week even though I’m a Prime member, probably the item is not as popular as the 4x8 rack, which can be delivered the next day. However I was surprised when Amazon delivered the 3x8 rack in 2 days. Cons: * No extra screws, so don’t lose them * No diagonal support brackets, so it sways a bit horizontally, but I guess once you put some stuffs, it won’t sway anymore as the rack will be heavy. * No hooks included

A Sturdy and Versatile Storage Solution
I recently purchased the FLEXIMOUNTS 3x8 Overhead Garage Ceiling Storage Rack1 and I must say, it’s a game-changer for garage organization. This heavy-duty metal rack, with a weight capacity of 600lbs, is not only well-built and sturdy but also offers a multitude of mounting configurations. The installation process was straightforward and took around 2 hours with two people. The package includes all the necessary hardware required for installation, which is a big plus12. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, making the assembly process a breeze. One of the standout features of this rack is its adaptability. Our studs were not spaced at the standard 24", but we were still able to install the top brackets perpendicular to the joists, using two screws per bracket. This flexibility allowed us to customize the installation to fit our specific garage layout. The rack’s design is impressive, with an integrated grid that makes it more stable and sturdy compared to others with separate frames and wires. It’s also height adjustable from 22" to 40", providing lots of storage. This feature is particularly useful for storing seasonal and unused items, freeing up valuable floor space in the garage. In conclusion, the FLEXIMOUNTS 3x8 Overhead Garage Ceiling Storage Rack is a high-quality, durable, and versatile storage solution. It’s well worth the investment for anyone looking to maximize their garage storage space.

Great overhead storage, simple install, good materials
Very pleased with the materials. The ceiling pieces can be rotated 90' so you can fit parallel or perpendicular to ceiling joists even though the instructions don't show this clearly. We used joists on one side and fixed to the studs in the wall as there was no joist overhead at the wall.
