Sound OasisWilderness Journey Sound Card

We purchased this sound card at the same time as the Sound Oasis machine because we wanted a good thunderstorm soundtrack. I think we found one in this product. The sound cycle is continuous and there is no perceptible beginning or end. I don't remove the card very much but, I would say that the few times I have, it seems a little difficult to re-insert into the slot. I have not damaged the card but I have felt a bit frustrated with trying to get the alignment just right for an easy installation. Our son was around 14 months old when we bought this card and ever since the first night, about one year ago, he has slept like a good little baby. My wife and I both travel for a living and we get to go as a family quite often. This has helped maintain the sleeping environment for all of us while living in hotels.

Relaxing sounds for sleep and stress relief! My husband and I are so glad we made this purchase and use it every night. Initially I bought the sound oasis cards: Wilderness Journey, White Noise and Rhythms of the Sea.. absolutely worth it! I have decided to purchase the remaining, Sounds for Sleep and Tropical Rainforest.For the people claiming they do not work, they do in fact work perfectly! However here is my troubleshooting two sense:1) They need to be inserted at the top, label forward with a decent push in. You can will it hit the end and no more give to know it is inserted correctly.2)There is a tab at the top used to switch over between sound cards and the preset machine sounds, this tab MUST be UP reading sound card. If it is pushed down and the table isn't visible the sound card is not selected.3)The top control on the side used for power/volume is touchy. At times I turn it on and nothing comes out the speaker and it remains off, very simple fix. Just turn dial back to off and repeat turning the dial back on to optimal volume and it will work and put out sound! I am not sure why it glitches, maybe it is after I have switched between card and machine that it needs a kind of reset. Either way, super simple fix and worth it. So if you have the sound card tab selected and it is the turning on, repeat this a few times as needed. Also double check for issues 1 and 2 above.Of the three sound cards I have at this time while the new ones are shipped, my favorite selection from each would be:Wilderness Journey, Thunderstorms (track #1)Rhythms of the Sea, Gentle Surf (track #2)White Noise, White Noise (track #1) and White Stream (track #6)Sound Machine Presets, Ocean Surf (track #1)Happy Dreamweaving! I like it, and would not return it, but a few of the sounds are VERY close to what came in the unit. I like the loons and the bonfire, but what you like is very personal and varies from person to person. What really matters is, "does it sound like a loop?" If I can hear a loop it drives me nuts. I dare anyone to pick out a loop when you lay your head on the pillow. Good product, good sounds. zzzzzzzzzzzz

What a waste....canned sounds that don't remotely have the qualitative ambiance or variability of natural sounds. I could've done better with my own digital recorder and a *little* time and patience. These sounds demonstrate the lack of the aforementioned qualities, as the sounds seem to have been captured hurriedly, and not actually vetted to test what was pleasurable or relaxing. I found this on most of the original unit's sounds as well. I'm going to stick to the ocean waves and the stream on the unit itself, as these are the most pleasant (and even those I find lacking). I had high hopes for the Wilderness Journey Sound Card, but this fell seriously flat.

Great sounds just way over priced for what you get. The thunderstorm sounds like the same sounds over and over in a loop - so not very realistic.

Bought this sound card specifically for the "bonfire". Really disappointed in that sound - it is very "canned" and there is no variation. Who ever heard of a fire that doesn't crackle and pop? This is the poorest quality of any Sound Oasis sounds.As for the rest of the sounds on the card, they are OK but don't really add much new to the basic sounds you get with your machine. So...I don't recommend this unless you want a specific sound on this card (pass on the bonfire though!).

This product I am SO HAPPY with! I just can't sleep without it. This product also has 3 - 4 different card you can purchase separate for different scenarios!I am the surf and rain type person and the sounds lull you to sleep immediately, even if you are a daytime sleeper that works overnight. I now can not hear the garbage truck banging around outside or the lawn men that come faithfully every week for 3 hours straight or the noisy neighbors anymore!Large on/off feature that you can 'find' in the dark...ha-ha-ha!AAAAAHHHHHH!And did I mention this product costs much LESS than those other products doing the same thing?Trust me, I give this product a good workout, I've had it for a full month and use it every day...it plays continuously for 5 - 6 hours straight...sometimes longer. And I wake up refreshed!

Purchased the sound oasis and my husband really wanted the sound of loons so I purchased this extra card for him. Too bad there wasn't a choice of sounds with the original machine.
