Transformers Power of The Primes Deluxe Swoop (Red) Exclusive

Got this for my 4-year old son as part of introducing him to Transformers, which I was really into as a kid. He liked Swoop the most so I was really glad to find this. Good price for a good looking toy.Was a little apprehensive as I read some other reviews about the head not staying up in Dino mode. But, fortunately didn’t have any such problems here. Been able to transform a bunch since we got it, and it’s as good as new. No issues with the Dino head sagging down in pteranodon mode.My son learned to transform it quickly, he saw me go from robot to Dino once, and he took it from there. Really nice toy, can make good poses in either mode; it stands on its own and looks as good as the pictures indicate. Very pleased with this purchase.

This is a "red" Swoop that I believe was made for one particular retailer (who I don't know), but it's exactly like the regular one you used to could find at Walmart or Target. That series was from a couple years ago, meaning they've gone up in price. This one, however, was a steal. Although a different color, it works with the other Power of the Primes combiners. It even comes in a unique collector's (cardboard) box. My son loves it.

Bought this as a gift to my bro he use to have one as a kid (in the 90s)and gave it away to a friend and he's really been wanting another one it brought back feelings of nostalgia of when we were kids

This is a nice figure on any deco but the red exclusive its a nice homage to the 80s toy, still wish it included missile launcher for his wings like the original toy.

Like many of the reviews have said, the joints are pretty loose. I did a couple little mods and got it to a point I like it. I popped off the arms and legs at the ball joint and coated them in polyurethane which helped tighten them up. I also popped the leg off below the the ball joint where it has a 180 rotation and wrapped it in plumbers tape and that helped stiffen it up. All in all about 10 minutes of modding (3 hours for the poly to dry) and I am now very happy with this figure. It’s a good looking toy very reminiscent of the original I had in the 80s.

This is a recolor of the combiner Swoop toy from the Transformers Generations "Power of The Primes" toyline that released from 2017-2018. As such, it has all of the features (and quirks) of that action figure, so if you aren't into collecting color variants, it's okay to skip it.Having said that, let me just say that I LOVE HAVING THIS FIGURE. While others pine for Generation 1 animation-accurate blue color schemes, Swoop's Diaclone (Japanese) toy was originally released in the west with a red diecast chest, and this toy reflects that original release.This has an especial significance for me because Swoop was the only Dinobot I ever had as a child, and this thing tickles my nostalgia. It makes me pine for the days of diecast pieces, chrome-colored plastic, unnecessary clear plastic overlays, real rubber tires, and spring-loaded missile launchers. This toy has none of that, of course (as cost and safety issues have made that all but impossible for retail releases), but it evokes it in my mind and that is enough.This is not a five-star figure, however...Let's get this out of the way: The build quality is dubious, and the figure feels loose and fragile in one's hands, but no more so than the original blue release. It (disappointingly) only comes with a combiner fist and sword (the original Diaclone-based figure sold by Hasbro in the 80s came with a sword, two rocket pods, and missiles), so the extra cost at the time of release seems unwarranted. As others have mentioned, Swoop doesn't hold together well as a limb of Volcanicus (the Dinobot combiner), but he still works better than my copy of the retail release of Slug, which has tabbing issues.Still, as long as Tomy-Takara and Hasbro make red recolors of Swoop, I will buy them.

The media could not be loaded.  Hard to find, this is one of the Dinobot combiner limbs. It's perfect for my son, he loves transformers.

My son is happy with this item, that’s all that matters.

I bought this for my son who enjoys dinosaurs and I wanted to get him into Transformers. He plays with it often, and transforms it often. So far so good, I must say. The item has survived a litany of child tests and remains a prized possession.

Swoop. What else can one say. Good toy, almost a bit too fragile, but you just have to be gentle at some point when transforming from dino <---> bot.
