Like the fact you can see if the fuse has blown by side view. Previous brand you either had to use a ohm meter or remove it and it fell apart. I needed to tighten using inch pounds torque wrench to not over torque on my Lithium Lifepo4 battery, specified for my Discovery lithium blue battery.

Of course, I haven't tested it to see if it blows, but I have proven it will sustain about 200 amps (at 12vDC) of current. Also required is the 5191 Fuse Block Terminal and consideration must be given to vertical clearance since the mount (combo) mounted to the battery sticks up about an inch. It is about 2-1/2" long, over all. I had to make my battery box deeper on a 2013 Airstream anyway to accommodate the taller GC-2 deep cycle batteries (6vDC in series). A huge PRO is its compactness and simplicity. It did take longer than I would have like to receive these fuses, but the seller split the shipment to get me one of the two I ordered quicker. The delivery date was met. So, kudo to the seller and to the fuse.

This type of fuse on the terminal mount fuse blocks makes it super easy to provide fused safety before you get to the primary weakness in any electrical system - the wire. The terminal blocks also eliminate additional losses induced by a break in the cable needed for inline fuse blocks and eliminate the need for finding a place to mount the inline block. The only potential drawback is having to maintain access to the batteries, however if you are blowing these fuses on a regular basis, then you have huge problems that need to be addressed before reconnecting your batteries.

Needed to protect overall solar power generation at the batteries, from either a quick discharge or a short circuit.

This fuse is used on a Blue Sea Systems 5191 Fuse Block Terminal between my huge battery pack and my 4,000 watt pure sine wave inverter that can draw 300 amps. I love the security and peace of mind knowing my very expensive set up if protected. But whoa, these bad boy fuses are expensive! I have also used Blue Sea's other fuse sizes. I have never had one blow and they are too expensive to test, but when the time comes for them to do their job, I have now doubt they will work at the rated amperage.

I received the product. The system consists of the fuse holder (fuse block terminal) and fuses of varying amp rating. I wanted to place a fuse between my batteries and my inverter without having a break in my battery cables. So, that leaves at the battery or the inverter. The terminal holder with fuse mounts onto the battery terminal and then your battery cable onto the fuse mount. The system is high quality and met my needs. A little pricey, there may be other options out there, but this met my need.

You can't really know how good a fuse is until you get a short. Blue Sea has a stellar reputation. I was able to have email contact with a rep. Found out that this fuse is slow blow. I don't have the parameters in hand but there is a graph on the Blue Sea site that show the peak amps and the time sustained. The AIC is 10,000/12V. Check your battery SCCR. You might not need a Class-T.
