WinsomeMilan Solid/Composite Wood 3-Tier Medium Storage Shelf or Bookcase, Antique Walnut (94228)

This would have been easy to assemble if I'd known how to use one odd piece of hardware. Fortunately, there was, of course, a how-to explanation on You Tube. Once I saw that, I got it, and put it together in about 40 minutes, altho it would have been a bit faster with another person helping. Anyway, it got done easily enough and looks great. After there were a few books on it, I tried to move it by lifting on the top shelf, and that side of it came up. I just pushed it back down and it seems fine. I like this item and am glad I bought it.

After assembling, I had to leave it in the garage for about 5 days for the smell/fumes to go away. Looks nice and is plenty sturdy.

The shelf arrived with the packaging intact and all pieces in the box. Assembly was very easy and all screws were tightened without stripping the pilot holes. Once assembled I would say that the shelf exhibited about 2 - 3 degrees of lateral sway. After I added books this was reduced in half. The middle shelf (not adjustable) is not screwed to the carcass as the top and bottom shelfs. During assembly pins are pressed into the carcass, and the shelf, which has oversize holes, is installed on the pins. This eases assembly, but contributes to the sway that is observed. It's not detrimental to the performance of the shelf, but it was an observation. The literature promotes the shelf as being 28" wide x 30" tall x 13" deep. These are the overall dimensions of the shelf. The depth of the two shelfs is 11 1/8". The height of the opening for both shelfs is 12 1/4". The finish is promoted as antique walnut and I would agree with that description. The image has a little more "red" than walnut, but this could be contributed to the monitor.In conclusion, for me, the shelf is well designed, easy to assemble, pleasing in appearance, and fits my needs. Would I buy another, yes.

Purchased this for the “playroom” section of the family room for my 2 boys. It’s a small (short) cabinet so beware but completely perfect for small kids - just the right height for them. Nice option to store toys that isn’t open plastic bins. Assembly was easy & straight forward. Product arrived fast & was cheaper here.**i did replace the black fabric bins with fabric tan ones that I already had. They fit perfectly and matched our decor better. Would be nice if this cabinet offered different bin colors.

Over all, this was a good purchase. I only had a certain size space for this and so many were either too small or too large! This one is perfect. So happy to shop online for items; mainingly due to pandemic and age! My husband did reinforce under the shelves with wood glue. I think that that was just a "man thing"!

This is a great piece for the price. It is sturdy and almost all solid wood. I did not see any problems stated in the negative reviews, especially at this price. We will be ordering another for a toddler's room.

We purchased a number of items from Winsome Woods and for all but this item we checked to make sure it was solid wood. We did not check the description when we purchased it and it is mostly MDF. The fault is ours, but for the price the quality of the item is fine. If you want solid wood, take the time to read the description of the materials.

Bought this to match the walnut table by the same manufacturer. The colors are not the same. It was quick and easy to put together but as soon as it came out of the box the heavy chemical smell was overpowering. It was assembled on the first floor of my house, I smelled it from the second floor. It has been in my office for almost a week and the smell has not diminished.

Fits into our decor beautifully.
