Definitely gives your sim rig an enhanced tactile experience
I bought the ButtKicker Gamer 2 around a month ago for my racing sim rig, looking for that added feel of immersion. I heard nothing but good things about this product, so I was looking forward to how it was when I ordered my own unit. The ButtKicker Gamer 2 came in a fairly large and heavy box (around 13 lbs in shipping weight). Free and super fast shipping by Amazon. Got it in no time. Item was well-packaged. Product build quality is top-notch. The product is built to last a long time. Hooking it up was a breeze. It came with all the necessary accessories to hook it up to whatever system you plan on using it. I hooked it up to my ASUS Xonar DGX sound card and it works well with no problems. Definitely felt a lot of rumble whichever media I threw at it. It works well with music (all kinds), movies (Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan), and games (Battlefield 3, Project C.A.R.S., F1 2011) -you really have that more immersive experience. Definitely enhanced how my sim rig felt. It complemented my other sim racing hardware as well. It made you feel the engine revs and the kerbs. Never did I feel that the rumble was inadequate. In fact, I only have it turned on half-way, barely having the cut-off light turned on at times. Outside of spending a ton of money on a dedicated motion rig, this is as good as they come if you want the next step in making your sim rig much more immersive. It simply brings your sim rig to life. You'd never want to use your sim rig without it. Also, the Guitammer Company has excellent customer support, comprehensively answering all my queries in a very timely manner. All-in-all, it's definitely worth the investment. No wonder it's always sold-out often! I highly recommend it. Really quality product. Note: Make sure to not turn the unit's intensity all the way up, so the unit doesn't overheat.

Immersion in my flight sims.......
..........has never been better. But to be honest I already knew all this. I owned the original Butt kicker and used it regularly until the amp unit stop working. I missed the BK so much that I ordered the new version. The new model has a vastly improved amp but works pretty much the same. I have a home built flight simulator and this device gives me tactile feedback that has to be experienced. Here are some of the sims I play: DCS-KA50 Black Shark - I feel the cannon, the rumble of the rotors spinning, the clunk of having to jettison weapons in an emergency and of course enemy AAA and surface to air missiles hitting me! DCS-A10C Warthog - Tires rolling over cracks in the tarmac, the GAU-8/A Avenger cannon (OH YEAH). The low whine of twin engines, flak, missiles, touching down and even crashing into the ground! Rise Of Flight/Il2 1946 - Engines, machine guns, flak (in these games sometimes you feel the flak before seeing it). The cool thing about the butt kicker is that it works off sound output from your PC/console rather than software which means it works with any game. The kicker (no pun intended) is that it can take a while to get the settings just right, and you'll have to set it up differently for different games, but once you dial in your set-up there is no going back. Since I had the original BK I tossed out my bad amp but kept the shaker and mounted it to the couch, now when I watch movies it makes the experience simply amazing! Hope this review helps you decide your purchase. My sound set up (all my movie watching and gaming is through PC BTW): -Logitech Z5500 5.1 Surround Sound System -Creative X-Fi Fatality Sound Card in 5.1 set-up

Good Boom for the Buck !
Having known a few people over the years who run Transducers in their Home Theater setups I'm no stranger to the technology and the desired results. That said this is a very strong performing product that delivers a massive amount of bang for your buck ! This is all very dependent on how and what it is attached to. It needs to be a sturdy chair with lots of hard points or it will shake and you wont. Mine is attached with the factory clamp to a piece of corrugated steel pipe that is threaded into a flange bolted onto a thin 2 foot X 2 foot piece of Plywood that is directly bolted into the wooden frame of a 10 inch thick Full Sized [ Full is the actual size ] Cotton Futon and it shakes the entire thing very well. For a 90Watt Transducer it performs better than I would have thought as most I have experienced are much larger 500Watt units in large couches with massive amounts of Wattage, obviously its not going to be as effective in that application but its more than a enough in a single chair with good solid mounting. I have owned mine since 2010 and use it pretty regularly for Movies more than anything else unplugging it when its not in use. Build quality on the AMP, Connectors, Remote and Transducer itself is high with a very Robust feeling to all of it including the built in Mount. The AMP doesn't use a Fan so there is no noise to worry about. Heat hasn't been any sort of issue with mine though I use mine out in the open with nothing on or around it so airflow isn't a problem. Its been a solid performer since day One. Its a great performer that wont break the bank but its somewhat limited as it doesn't have a digital pass through so there is no separation between the Left audio channel and low effects etc which can muddy things up when connected directly to an analog source, it would perform better with a Sub Out as its source. You can tweak it a bit with built in Hi / Low Filters on the AMP but it will always be trying to act like a Mono Speaker to some degree and wont single out just the Low end vibration we are after. So if you want to use this directly with your PS3 or 360 you will have to use a Scart connector which at least on the PS3 is a Stereo only affair, I think the 360 can output both Digital and Stereo at once but I cant remember ?. I use mine via Scart from the PS3 then into a Turtle Beach DSS 7.1 [ it also picks up the Audio going into the DSS from my Satellite TV Receiver ] out to a set of Klipsch Promedia 2.1's or Dre Beats Headphones so I have to choose between running digitally to the DSS or Stereo with the Buttkicker, while the DSS does a good job with any Stereo source there is a very notable difference between the two. In the end its a Great Solid Product that offers a very Reasonably priced glimpse into Transducers and what they are capable of. If you have any interest in this technology at all then you cant go wrong picking one these up. This is worth every Dollar of the $100.00 I paid for mine :D If your feeling a bit spendy $300.00 should get you into a much larger AMP and Transducer with a Digital Pass Through. Either way if you like feeling your Movies & Games both are worth looking into and offer a great experience for the Money.

Great addition to my home theater -- Attached it to my metal futon
I recently brought this item in view of adding it to my existing home theatre system. Before this, I had researched the item through the company website and other reviews. Since my existing home theatre was good in delivering bass, but I wanted to add a little extra kick(esp the lower end and some vibrations) to the whole thing. I have a metal futon and so finding a suitable metal post for adding the buttkicker module was not difficult. The only surprise that I had was that I was hoping the amplifier to look as small as a modem, but infact it is as large as a cornflakes box and has a very irritating cooling fan which is as noisy as a small table fan. As the product mentions that this buttkicker gamer is only meant for chairs that have a metal post to attach the buttkicker module, I decided to take the risk of purchasing this item(only $50 after the MIR) because I already have a metal futon to attach the module. Here is what I did to synchronize the buttkicker gamer with my Home theatre system -- I took a audio line out from my home theatre with a long RCA cable to all the way to my futon bottom where the actual buttkicker amp was located. The amp had to be kept under the futon so that I can have easy access to the on/off switch and the controls. The buttkicker module was fixed to my futon frame. Initally the settings of the amp were un-tuned, and as a result of this I felt high vibrations on my futon which were very un-pleasant. After experiencing this and the noise of the cooling fan, I wanted to return the buttkicker back to amazon. But then after playing around for a while with the controls I fine tuned it, to provide the vibrations only at very low frequencies that my subwoofer had missed. This way, I was able to enjoy the movie and 'wow' my buddies. The 100 watt amplifier is more than enough power to shake the futon. I had the volume position set to around 30% only and it was terrific - Watching movies was never the same, I could feel all the vibrations and action on my futon itself, so there is no neccesity for purchasing the costlier model that is available from buttkicker. My suggestion is to not avoid the subwoofer completely and add this buttkicker, for the reason being that if you do that then you may not be able to wow your buddies because they may be curious to know how the futon vibrates without the subwoofer. Hence having the subwoofer and fooling them by saying that ther subwoofer is causing the rattle would lower their suspicion levels and your folks will not be curious to peep under the futon. Another word of caution is that not to leave the amp in the ON position throughout the day/night as even if by any chance there is a small spark or something from these electronic items, the futon bed can catch a fire -- This is just a precaution for all general electrical devices and not to mention that the buttkicker would neccesarily produce a spark/fire etc.. Bottom line is: Pros: Nice vibrations are induced making it more realistic when watching movies Excellent addition to a home theater 100 watts amp power is definetly more than enough power Cheap subwoofer alternative($50 after MIR) Cons: Big size amplifer Noisy cooling fan No remote for the amp Not sure about the performance of the buttkicker module on wooden sofa's or wooden futon's because of the requirement of metal post for hooking the buttkicker module

With a Virtual Racing Chassis & Fanatec Setup
My Video Racing Chassis (VRC) gaming chair sits very low to the ground and there is no way to connect the Buttkicker without modifications. I knew this before I purchased it but thought it would be worth the trouble, and it is! I installed a 15/16", 1/2" ratchet socket to the back of the chair that gave it a 3" long cylinder about 1-1/8" in diameter to attach the Buttkicker to. This was accomplished by drilling a 3/8" diameter hole in the back to one side and using a 3/8" socket head cap screw with large washers on the inside and outside back of the chair. The cap screw went from the front to the back to attach the 15/16" socket with a lock nut. The lock nut fit on the inside of the socket and I was able to use a 1/2" socket to ratchet it tight to the chair. Then it was easy to attach the Buttkicker to the socket on the back of the chair. I have a Denon receiver that I attached the RCA splitter to at the sub-woofer output. One end attaches to the sub-woofer the other to the white plug on the back of the Buttkicker amplifier. I had to purchase different male/female couplings for the splitter though because I needed a male rather than a female attachment to my amp and also the sub-woofer required a different coupling. Once I set everything up, just took a few minutes, I could not get it to work at all (at least that is what I thought). Then I realized that the Denon was not outputting the bass at a high enough output to use the Buttkicker. I was able to change all the speakers to minus 12db and to change the sub-woofer to plus 12db and that fixed the problem after I also realized that the volume of the included amp needs to be increased way up, at least for my setup. It seems that the volume resets to the lowest setting each time the amp is turned off. I have the remote attached to my setup so that I turn everything on and then increase the volume or intensity to the max. Also it seems that the amp goes into standby mode after 20 minutes (even when I am racing on Forza 3) and so that I will be racing along and have to hit the remote on button to turn it back on. A minor inconvenience. The results are that I can feel the road, on some of the tracks through towns are cobblestones, feels just like the real thing. Go off the road onto a strip or grass and you can feel that. Just a whole new dimension to the game. The Fanatec wheel and pedals have their own force feedback but this brings the chair alive too. Well worth the trouble of the modification for sure. Two points. If you are having trouble getting it to work with a receiver make sure the receiver settings for bass are set to high. Also make sure that you have the volume (intensity) of the included amp turned up.

What you need to know!
***If you set it up right it'll be well worthwhile*** I'm looking at this three ways: Movies ------ 5 stars Music ------- 5 stars Flight sim -- 4 stars Over all I like it. The ButtKicker makes watching movies or listening to music much more enjoyable. Try the Blue Danube (search YouTube for IDaJ7rFg66A) with the BK on. But if you just plug it in and turn it on it *will* be a butt buzzer, with a hell of a lot of chair rattle. It might be best to move your chair to an open area where you can track down all of the rattling when you first set ButtKicker up. Speaking of plugging it in. Almost all desktop motherboards come with multiple audio out connections. One of these connections will be for a base speaker. Unless you DON'T have a bass connector, DO NOT use the Y connector. Plug the BK directly into the *bass output* on your computer. And if you have to crawl under a desk to get to the back of your computer, don't be suppressed if it doesn't work, it's probably in the wrong hole. And IF it is in the right hole and it still DOESN'T work, you may have to tell your computer to use that connection. (Don't you just hate it when you buy something and it's BAD RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. ONE STAR!!!!) The bass connector on my computer needed to be cleaned with some contact cleaner because it had dead spots inside the jack hole. And a lot of static when the wire moved. After spraying some contact cleaner in, it worked perfectly. Go into ANY electronics store, even Radio Shack, and ask for "contact cleaner". One spray can will probably last you the rest of your life. I started off listening to YouTube bass videos, and made adjustments. From there I listened to classical music such as "Also Sprach Zarathustra", "The Blue Danube", etc. And made adjustments. Next I watched some movies. And made adjustments. It's all about learning how to use it CORRECTLY. You can't just plug it in and crank it up. You have to adjust it for whatever you want to play/watch/listen to. And the right setting depends on what movie, song, or game you're viewing. There is NO standard. . Remember this - There is no "best setting". There are, of course, plenty of bad settings. But once you find the right setting for *that* game, song, or movie you should be fine. Just keep the red light from lighting up too much, and you'll do OK. . Those are some of the problems that I ran into. And judging by some of the blistering negative 1 star reviews on amazon, I'd have to say that they're some of the problems others ran into also. . Regarding games: I tried the BK out on a simple racing game and I think that it would be great for that kind of stuff. But if the game has music (and when they do it's always heavy on the bass) you might as well forget it. The music will over power the sound/feel of your race car. For flight simulators the review is a little different. X-Plane and Microsoft's FSX will benefit from the BK, but not as much as I'd want. For FSX you can buy a program called Accu-Feel from A2A Simulations. This lets you bring forward such sounds as ground rumble, wind, bumps on landing, etc. With one click you can save the settings within Accu-Feel, *per plane*. The ButtKicker and Accu-Feel together is a real winner.

Highly recommend. Best purchase to start a sim rig.
First of all, the quality of the actual buttkicker unit is incredible. Fully metal with a hefty weight and incredibly made parts (guessing cast aluminum with a paint coat). Second, the strength is incredible. Enough to raddle your entire house if you turn it up enough. The remote makes adjusting it very quick and easy from my sim cockpit. Only ran into a hassle with the audio, but I use the jack from my TV to the unit and SimHub (free) to run everything in game. The kicker itself will overheat if you have it turned up too much, however it has an auto cut off and it will resume when it cools down. Solved by putting a small desk USB fan on it and it stayed incredibly cool (the metal casing makes it very easy to actively cool). Best immersive purchase I've made for my sim rig apart from VR, and has helped with consistency too.

It does what they say it does...but probably not to the extent that you would think
Bought this for two reasons. 1. Add immersion to games and movies...feeling explosions and the "rumble" sounded cool and it seemed like it would add some depth to game play and watching movies. 2. Because I have a Creative Megaworks S-750 7.1 surround system, the sub can get quite loud and make a lot of vibration in its own right...which is OK if its early in the day and no one is home and I can play the system loudly. However, when at night and there are people home this isnt an option. So, thinking that this thing basically makes it feel like your sitting on a high powered subwoofer I figured that I could use this with headphones or with my subwoofer turned all the way down and still get that "thump" from my games, movies, music, etc. For these two reason it works...to an extent. First thing to mention is that this product, although works as explained, will not shake your socks off. It has a good impact but nothing like what is described in reviews here and elsewhere...it just doesn't have it in it. And if you do turn it up to the point that it could shake your socks off your office chair and the device itself make so much noise that its impossible to use unless you have the best noise canceling headphones out there and no one around that would be bugged by it...and when I say it gets loud it gets LOUD...so much that I actually returned it and got a new one thinking it was broken...sadly it wasnt and the new one does it as well. Like I said, it works, but not as well as you would expect based on reviews, I honestly dont know what these people are talking about. Also, because the amp that comes with it is essentially a subwoofer amp I find myself constantly adjusting the settings for the different media that I play on my computer (games, music, movies). This is because what settings work for music doesnt produce the impact that you need for games...what settings you have for games may be too strong for movies and has to be adjusted again or the unit makes noise (like a speaker bottoming out...metal on metal). Because of this, and the fact that I change media sources a lot, like playing a game, then listening to music, then watching some TV on my PC it feels like Im always having to adjust the frequency response, cut-off, volume, etc...it gets quite old and tedious and I have found myself not even using the device because of this...too much work for too little payout! Another problem and a WARNING TO ALL!!! is to make sure once you have it attached that you make sure not to turn your chair more than 180 degrees...meaning that if you get up a lot and all make sure the wire doesnt get wrapped around the post of your chair...mine did this and sadly it went unnoticed for about a day and after fixing it the wire was VERY BADLY FRAYED and had about a 2 inch length of exposed wire. This of course is completely my fault but I cant see it being a uncommon problem among those that may do this accidently. The actual hardware is very well built however. The actual "buttkicking" device is nothing but solid aluminum and steel. I did notice, with my unit at least, is that the knob for tightening the screw is loose and can only be tightened so much before the knob "slips" and cant be made tighter...I feel this is a problem and not normal as the unit I had before (that I returned thinking it was broken) did not have this issue and was able to get quite a bit more tightness from it. The amp is solid and completely silent...definitely acceptable and well built, actually amazing they can sell this for so cheap. Over all I would say that if you are looking for a good bit of kick...but not BUTTKICKING kick...and you don't mind constantly having to adjust settings and can watch the cable and make sure you don't tear it, then this is for you. If you are looking for something to rock your socks (as I feel this product has been described as being capable of) and dont like having to constantly adjust settings, LOOK ELSEWHERE! I mean, if you read anything I wrote above as negatives and didnt like what you read you most likely will not be happy with this device...well I wouldnt say UNHAPPY...but definitely not fulfilled and may feel like you didnt get your moneys worth. TO WRAP IT UP AND SUMMARIZE...Over all its a good product, just OVER HYPED in my opinion. It does what it supposed to although not at the level of awesomeness you would think and would come to expect from reading reviews. You have to constantly make adjustments to the amp for each media type: music, games, movies, etc. Believe me this is necessary! Turning it up to the point of "buttkicking" makes the unit VERY loud and unusable without headphones, plus annoying everyone around you cause of the noise it makes (and believe me, its NOT my chair). Make sure to be careful with the main cord...it is thick and strong but appears, at least in my case, to be very easy to damage if not strapped to the chair leg. I dont know, I want to leave a good review cause it works...but just all the problems Im having with it and all the work needed to make it "work" just isn't worth it to me...like I said, currently I'm not even using it anymore because of the problems above. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! And believe me, if you were to ship it back because you dont like it, expect to spend about $25 even for the slowest cheapest way possible to send.

Awesome bit of kit needs a little tweaking to get perfect
If your thinking of getting this for anything other than the PC, bad news. Its pretty much useless without Simhub ( which is PC only) With simhub this becomes an essential peice of any racing sim, you can control every single effect and which Hz it sends to the BK. Top tip DO NOT use the 3.5mm y splitter cable, you will get static on your audio. Instead use another audio input for your Buttkicker, e.g your monitors 3.5mm input, if you dont have this, simply plug in an xbox controller via USB and use the 3.5mm input to split your audio. That worked for me until I found a better soloution. All in all this is worth every penny of £190, its not on sale for 170 so even better. Enjoy!

Espectacular, impresionante...
UU.
