Comfortable, Fantastic Seal, Unbeatable Price
These are my first set of earmuffs so I really have nothing else to compare to, except a pair of Bose QC25 active noise canceling headphones (which I'm now returning because these earmuffs are so good!). That said, these earmuffs are fantastic. Absolutely unbelievable sound isolation for the asking price, which was just under $12 at time of purchase. The earpads, and pretty much everything else about the muffs, is built like a tank and definitely feels like it's built to last. That is not to say they are not comfortable, because they are! The ear pads provide a smooth seal around your ear, so long as you have medium to small ears. It is possible that they might overlap with ears on larger heads. The adjustable band makes it easy to find a great fit, too, though I must also point out this is probably designed for smaller heads, as I have to use them fully extended for my most comfortable fit and I have a medium-large size head. In terms of noise isolation, these beat the Bose QC 25, which were $300 headphones, for a fraction of the price. I guess the moral of the story is if you want noise isolation, get earmuffs and not headphones! And if you still need music in your life, just pop some in ear buds underneath. I use a pair of in ear buds under these muffs and the noise isolation improved even more. I could stick my head right next to a window air conditioner on full blast and I couldn't even hear a whisper - even with no music playing! These also look great and I feel no shame or embarrassment wearing them out in public with earbuds underneath. I think they blend right in, especially these days when pretty much half the people on the streets are walking around with their enormous over ear headphones. Fantastic product. Will order more in the future, almost definitely!

Great for drum practice
We have a couple drummers in our family. These earmuffs work great for a drumming student when practicing. They fit over the ear and seal around the ear without pressing on the ear, so they are quite comfortable. They block out enough of the acoustic drum kit to play without damaging your ears and it is still possible to speak with the person next to you. I have also tried them with my Etymotic Research ER7-MC3-BLACK-I-A MC3 Noise Isolating In-Ear Headset and Earphones for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch - Black earphones underneath them. I use the Etymotics almost every day and I love them, but I don't like the way they feel under these earmuffs. I know some drummers play this way, but it didn't work for me. I do not like them for playing along to music. (That is what I was trying to solve it the Etymotics under them.) If I play music through my stereo, then I really need to crank it up to play along. If the volume is too low, I can't hear it well enough to stay in sync with the song. I use Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones. when I want to play along to music. They to not fit over the ear like these and they put a bit of pressure on the ear when wearing them. When I turn from side to side, the seal opens up a bit and I can hear the volume of the drums get much louder in that ear. They are adjustable and they fit our 8 year old as well as my wife and I. For the price, you can't go wrong with these earmuffs. They are great for practicing on an acoustic drum kit. I can't comment on how they work for outdoor equipment as ours re used only for drumming.

Good if need tight fit in crawlspaces, etc.
Item arrived promptly in factory box, was clean and undamaged. Installed on an ERB industries Americana hard hat. Box instructions not very clear and in one case wrong. To install rotate tab away from ear muff and shove through har hat slot until it clicks. Consider it a permanent install as fit is very tight. Rotation to back of head storage position works well but takes a lot of pull to get ear muff over hard hat edge and onto ear. Fit on ear is tight but this might considered good as ear muff pad is soft. Fit is tight enough that hard hat does not fall off looking down even without chin strap so found useful for attic crawlspaces, etc. As best can tell the standby position shown on the box does not exist so if doing a lot of on off work this may not be the one. A Bluetooth version (not tried) might minimize need for frequent on/offs. Worked well over standard eye glass frames but have not tried with heavy safety glasses.

Awesome for children, teens and adults with autism
World’s greatest headphone for children with autism. Lightweight and provides just enough pressure to satisfy the need for pressure as well. For my fellow parents who have a child with autism you know exactly what I mean. Also the padding comes out easily if needed. Very easy to clean as well. One size does seem to fit all. It’s made very well and can survive being thrown across the room. 😆

Great for extreme wind protection.
I did not buy these muffs for noise-reduction. I have a sports car that creates a lot of turbulence on the freeway. They work great for protecting my eardrums from the buffeting, and also keep my baseball cap from flying off. I actually removed the foam from the inside. I can hear car horns and sirens. The low profile of the muffs is great in this application. The muffs are well-made and seem durable. If you are looking for MAXIMUM noise reduction for working with very loud tools or firearms, these are not for you.

Excellent product
If you’re a heavy machine operator, just go ahead and purchase one for yourself. Easy to lower and raise the ear muffler, you can also just raise one so you can talk to someone and put it back. Very comfortable as well.

Beware of leaf blowers - buy these first.
I bought a rather loud leaf blower. Great performance but left me with ringing ears. These hearing protectors were the perfect solution - comfortable, effective, and affordable. I highly recommend buying them - but before buying your leaf blower.

3M ($12) vs FSL ($9) - See Pictures, Both offer Great Value!
I wanted a pair of Earmuffs for myself and my 3 years old when I'm working on the yard or using power tools. I was debating between the FSL and 3M since they both cost within my budget. So I ordered both of them to compare. I think they both serve different purpose and here's my report: The FSL: - GREAT value! You kidding me? $9 ??! - Looks Great with metal rods and fabric bridge, soft padding on the under side. - It grip harder than the 3M (see pictures comparison when I test them with a kitchen scale) - Protection-wise (I don't care the dB numbers), it is noticeable better than the 3M but not huge. - the ear piece - it is smooth, so it does make it un-comfy if you sweat a lot after hours. - Why I'm returning the FSL: it's simply a little too tight for me and too bulky, I felt like having two giant balls on my ears. However it is a great Earmuffs in terms of noise reduction. Did I mention I paid $9 for it?! 3M Peltor X-Series: - First I really like the Green, it's lighter, smaller, contemporary looking. - it grips nicely, not too tight but well enough to reduce ambiance noise while I can still hear someone talking within 4-6 feet away. - the ear-piece has a mat finish with some texture on them, so it's helps keeping the sweat away. - Why I'm keeping this one: Don't get me wrong, the FSL is great but the 3M is lighter and better in terms of sweat-proof. It's not as tight so I can wear them for a long time. If you want the best protection, get the FSL. For what I'm doing, 3M work better for me. $12 is still a great deal.
