Used to be our go-to, but now they’re hard as rocks
My dog has been eating half of an Indigenous Dental Health Bone after every meal for some three or four years. She loves them. They’ve always been firm in texture, but until this past year they had a little give, a little chewiness, a little softness that I could feel when breaking a bone in two. Beginning approximately a year ago, in 90% of the bags we’ve bought, the bones have been *totally* hard—hard as rocks, difficult to even break in two, and I worry that my dog is gonna break a tooth…or her jaw. These are bags with up-to-date “best by” dates, so it’s not that the bones have become stale. I dunno what happened, but it’s VERY disappointing. We continue to buy them, but that won’t continue forever. Indigenous—WTF?

My Vet recommended the Proden PlaqueOff Dental Care to put on my Dogs and Cats food and had nothing but great things to say about it. She had run out at the office and told me to look on line ~ At that time I also noticed these bones so I thought I'd give them a try. My Sheltie, who has real problem teeth, LOVES these bones. I cut them in quarters for her and give them as treats and she will carry it around the house very happy to have it. She finally will chew it and it keeps her occupied for awhile and it really gives her back teeth a work out, so it's worth the money for her. My larger dog eats them down quickly so for her, it's not worth the purchase. She would not get any benefit from it. But they both enjoy the flavor very much. They have helped my dogs breath quite a bit, so just for that alone I find it worth the price... I haven't used these long enough to comment on the plaque progress, but they do have a good lasting chew with my littler dog so that's better than most of the chews out there. Give them a try.

excellent product, satisfactory results
This is a great product! I use it daily with two of my dogs. Indigenous dental health bones contain ProDen Plaque-off, a truly superlative dental product. Unlike other dental chew bones which show up as undigested lumps in my dogs' poop, Indigenous health bones are digested. Why pay $$$ for dental chews that come out as undigested lumps? That can't be a good thing, can it? I have seen improvement in my dogs' dental health. One of them, a rescue, had been clearly 'on the run' for awhile because his teeth were quite stained. I can't claim that they're now 'sparkling white,' but there has been visible improvement. A word of warning: If your dog does not CHEW treats (or food), this product won't deliver maximum results. In fact, they specifically note on the package that this product should be chewed, not gulped or inhaled.

My dog adores these. She chewed through the cardboard mailing box when she smelled them in it.
The media could not be loaded. I have had trouble with these being rubbery when I have purchased them at the pet store. These weren’t like that at all. They seemed fresh. As close to being able to tell without trying to eat one myself. When I break them in half, they break easily. When they arrived in the cardboard mailing box, my dog loves them so much she chewed the box open!

Dogs Love It!
A bit expensive, but my dogs love it and since I have dogs of different sizes this works for us!

they were perfect and he loved them
After my cousin suggested these for me to try for my dog (who is a picky eater I may say), they were perfect and he loved them. I liked that they took a little longer for him to eat then other dental sticks, making me think they help clean better. Yet, they are eaten quicker then a bully stick, so you don't have to sit there for 20-30 minutes to make sure they don't choke.
