How wide are the tabs that stick into the door opening? How thick are they?

The front tab is 1.19"W. The thickness of this tab is .140".

Where/how do these mount?

They mount just on the inside of the moulding at the bottom of the door to guide the pocket door from hitting the frame.

Should the tabs be installed at the very bottom of the door's molding or a few inches above?

I have mine installed a few inches above the floor...
