So, when is the next book coming? I want it too!
Long book. Great book. Let's get that out that way first. The Spellmonger series thus far has always been a balance of three things: Minanlan's attempts to build a future, fighting the Dead God, and the author's great world building. Some of the books have been more about one than the other, but this book does a great balance of all three. If you want to know more about Sevendor's evolution, you'll like this book. If you want to see how the forces plan & fight against the gurvani you'll like this book. If you want more politics between the Spellmonger and the royal family... then perhaps not *this* book, but it is coming.Oh, that stupid, stupid prince. Sheesh. This is going to be a good setup for the upcoming books.Note: According to the author's blog there are ~10 chapters that needed corrections to be uploaded. Don't know if they got in, but I did find some errors scattered here and there. It didn't detract from the read.

Entertaining read.
I thoroughly am enjoying this series. I appreciate that the author does the reader the courtesy of assuming that we are a fairly intelligent segment of humanity. The only quibble I would have with these books? There is some awkward phrasing and some sentences with the syntax mangled a bit. A good editor or an extra proofreader would go a long way to taking these books to the next level. The characters are wonderful, and I was laughing out loud at some points, and sniffling and wiping my eyes at others. A big thumbs-up from me.

Great adventure !!
I have to admit, the first book started a little slow..then Mr. Mancour hit his stride ! I can't keep my nose out of them ! The characters grow and the plots thicken, looking forward to reading to the final page of the last book. I will hate to see it end.

Just as good on the second reading
Spellmonger is one of my all time favourite series. Inspired by the audiobooks, I am rereading the entire series. Please give the series a try. You won’t be disappointed. I also recommend the audiobooks. The narrator, John Lee really captures the heart of the characters

Good book all in all
Good book all in all, just felt a lot of the middle section was spent tying up loose ends and explaining a lot of stuff and things. If you've come this far with the series, you're used to the " editing ", and in the end, it's easy to gloss over. Will continue to read this series and author.....

Fantastic
This is the most generous fantasy series I have ever read. I think because it has avoided the publishing industry it is just rich with detail and depth of character and plot.

Minalan continues along
OK, I have read the preceding novels and I have a definite liking for Minalan, the Spellmonger, being one f the best characters that I have run across in quite a while. The story is compelling and as far as possible, logical for the era and locale, a feudal society. There are more problems and some solutions in this novel, but do not expect a final one.Read the full series for an enjoyable experiance.

Love the series.
Always keeps my interest. Always anxious for what will happen next and how they will overcome.Sure wish modern writers believed in proofreaders, though.Exasperating for me to keep getting hung up on punctuation, grammar and spelling. It hinders the flow, pauses the action to stop and 're-read a word line or paragraph. Then to be irritated for the next two pages.Words are the tools of their trade and they don't seem to take very good care of their tools.

As epic as it gets
Minilan is back! This is an incredibly fast paced book, taking place about eighteen months after Magelord, tying in some of the story line from knights magi. There are epic battles, some great homebuilding chapters in Sevendor, unlikely alliances & more than anything Sheruel really does pull the rug out from under the high magi's feet. Pacing in this fifth installment is faster than ever, leaving me gasping for more at the end. A huge amount still to be resolved from the Knights magi point of view, and more fascinating insights into the Alon Kingdoms. This series is going from strength to strength.

Reflex buy
It would be five stars if the proofreading was better. This is an immensely enjoyable set of books (I'm now on #10) and I will unhesitatingly pick up more as they are written.

Light and engaging
Lots of action, blood and gore; but also light reading and not too complicated. This is one of the best books I'll recommend for the Young Adult group. A nice continuation to the series, and a good development to the plot. Definitely more twist and deeper plot lines as the next books get written.

Spellmonger continues to deliver another truly magical story
What an achievement, Terry Mancour continues to evolve the characters into fully rounded interesting people. The humour is great throughout, whilst his world building skills are both realistic and imaginative. I really hope that there will be more books in the series.
