Paté in a Can

In cat rescue, we find Press Your Lunch to be great for regular feeding (all cats) and also for special feeding (sick cats)--where we blend the food with added water. This food is more like something made with real chicken and broth than many "loaf" style cat foods. It has been especially helpful with cats being treated for painful dental and mouth conditions caused by calici and stomatitis. When cats have mouth pain, it helps if the food is VERY smooth and easy to eat. This food is perfect for a cat that we're treating now because it is very easy to mix with warm water, creating the consistency of a smooth broth that's neither hot nor cold, which is what she needs. We feed her 4 - 5 ounces of this mix per meal, 3 – 4 times per day, and she slurps it up with no problem. As a result, she has gained much-needed weight. We appreciate the quality in this and other Weruva cat foods. Note: With any food we tried, we have also been giving the cat veterinarian-prescribed pain medicine, and this food yielded the best results.

My vet has been trying to get me for a number of years to switch to grain-free for Sophie. She was a Fancy Feast girl but as she has gotten into her mid-teens her health is on the decline. But I could never find a grain-free she would not run away from (meaning, that she would eat). And then in the span of a week two different friends, who do not know each other, said their vet recommended this brand of "hydrating" pate and behold! Sophie loves it. I tried a few different flavors and this is her favorite. I successfully switched her to it and now it is her main food. I do think it is better for her and I know her vet will be pleased. AND... as for me. The smell is not awful. The quality seems good. I found a lid that works to keep it fresh in the fridge. Opening the can is a bit difficult for me with my arthritis but I can do it.

This is a moist, smooth chicken puree with basic ingredients. It really smells like home cooked chicken. I've got one elderly fella with multiple health issues, poor appetite, and this is one of the 16 foods in the cupboard that he'll consistently accept. The other 2 fools will eat almost anything, but especially enjoy this.

🐾 Sir Whiskers McFluffy 🐾 Listen up, hoomans and fellow furballs, because I, Sir Whiskers McFluffy, have found THE motherlode of canned food luxury. The name? *Who Wants to Be a Meowionaire.* The taste? Exquisite. I may have been a lowly feral, street cat before, but this food has upgraded me to the ranks of aristocats! I tell ya, I’ve moved on UP to the Eastside, like George would say. First off, let’s talk about that aroma. As soon as my hooman cracked open the can, I caught a whiff of it from across the room. I ran over, tail held high, as if to say, “Yes, dear hooman, you may now feed me NOW!.” It’s a hard one to train this hooman, but we are getting there. Finally, after what seems eons to me, they got the can opened, I had to meow-yell at them to hurry up, I do hate it when I have to deal with the spare hooman. But, anyway, I digress, when that can was opened, and I saw what greeted me in my bowl, it was like heaven, And oh, smooth tasty chicken and pumpkin pate, my whiskers tingled. Wait? Pumpkin? In cat food? But oh my, it tasted delicious! It was like sprinkling gold dust on my humble up till now kibble life! As I took my first taste, I felt my inner tiger awaken. This wasn’t just food—it was an new experience. Imagine the tenderest chicken infused with just a hint of pumpkin. (Never knew what a pumpkin was before, but I am now a fan. It’s creamy, it’s smooth, it’s pure purrfection. Ok, I confess I might have barfed a few times more than usual before, my stomach plays up every now and then, but it sent this spare hooman off to search for something to help a cat digestion, and this is what they found, so I’ve give credit where credit is due, but I will still judge them, until my regular hooman returns. Honestly, this stuff is so tasty I was nearly tempted to share with that orange tabby from next door. Nearly. But then I remembered: **I am a Meowionaire now.**. I’m an single cat household, and sharing is for not for me, I'm an only cat. But oh, my dear hoomans, the ingredients! They read like poetry. No grains, no fillers—just pure meat and veg for this now very refined palate. The only problem? It’s a 3oz can. By the time I’m really getting into my foodie zen, it’s all gone. GONE, I tell you!! I’m left licking the bowl, hoping my hooman doesn’t notice the desperation in my eyes. *Why so little, Weruva? Why??* Final verdict: 9 lives out of 10. Knocked off one point for can size, but otherwise, this is the culinary equivalent of heaven. Ok, looks like my regular hooman has returned, I'm out, time to strut over and investigate the shopping.

A little on the expensive side, but completely worth it. Since switching to this food, my cat hasn’t thrown up once and we’ve had zero stomach issues. It’s clearly easier on digestion and feels like a much healthier option overall. I’d rather pay a bit more for something that actually agrees with my cat—and this does exactly that.

We like Weruva, and have been using this brand on and off for 10+ years. It's a trusted brand for us. However, this particular option (Press Your Dinner) was a big old NO from both my super picky cat and my super open minded cat. It wasn't even licked. I gave the entire can (dumped out on plate) in the evening before going to bed early, and it sat until morning. They had walked away from it. I had a feeling it was going to be ignored. While it doesnt smell bad, and it doesnt look bad, it has an odd consistency. Like an extra firm baby food texture. Super smooth, gelatin like. Next try, I added some hot water to it to make it more of a slurry. Still no takers. I will try again. Maybe add some of their usual food to it. I dont know. I bought 2 packages (16 cans total) of this stuff expecting it would probably be eaten. Nope! I do have 3 dogs, so I may use a little here and there as a food topper or smeared into a treat toy. Will see. Or maybe will donate.

Expensive but the only wet I will feed my immune compromised cat. He loves it and I’m not cleaning up diarrhea.

Not good

It is probably very plain. Both my cats dislike it. Even the one who will eat anything simply walks away. :(
