Accurate and feature rich immersion cooker!
I purchased this in Feb 2023. I wanted a reasonable amount of time before submitting a review, not only detailing what I thought about its performance and my first impressions - but also my assessment of it's durability and reliability over the course of 12+ months. This is a really nice immersion cooker. For the price, it holds its weight very well against the big brand models thats 2-3x the cost. I've used this model about 25-30 times in the last 14 months. I've cooked beef steaks, roasts, tenderloins, fishand brisket. All cooked wonderfully with accurate water temp. I tested numerously at different stages of cooking with my instant thermometer. Reflected temp is dead on. On a few recipes, there is a small trial and error on temp and cooking time to nail your own personal taste and texture preference. I record my perfect temp and times and every cook after that comes out perfect. With steaks, chops, roasts and tenderloins, I will always sous vide as my first option. Juiciest and tender from all other methods I've used. The only con (which is relative) is the amount of time needed to cook. Sous vide method is not the fastest but quite set and forget cooking that requires very little monitoring and affords a wide margin of error. I use cast iron or my food torch to brown food after sous vide is done. Comes out great. The inkbird app for this model works awesome. I've never had it fail. You can open the app and monitor cooking time, verify current temp, modify temp, modify cooking time, get alerts for low liquid level, among other things. Once connected to your home network, you can control it remotely from your phone, anywhere that your phone has internet. If there's one point of criticism, it's that I've seen other models circulate the water with more turbulence. I'm guessing those models have either larger impeller or faster rpm on the impeller. That being said, I'm not convinced it's relevant here as I've never had the heater not maintain temp despite the size and volume of food I've cooked in the container. I'd have to to test it in a really big volume container, I guess - but I don't have a need to get one bigger than the one I have (12 quart). Maybe one other area may be the spring clip that secures the heater to the container. It's holding up great so far after a year's use, but I'm not sure if this mechanism is better than a screw and knob style retention system. I'll revisit, maybe, after another year of use. So far, so good though. This is my first sous vide cooker - and I never thought I'd love it this much. Sous vide is a method every casual to seasoned cook should try regardless of brand of cooker you use. The method is just that good and forgiving. Results are awesome. If you want a good bang for the buck, this inkbird should be worth an audition. I've never looked back.

I love my new Inkbird Sous Vide Cooker
I know that a 5 star rating is a pretty bold rating. But I didn't find any reason to give this unit a lesser rating. First of all, I love the built in clamp that attaches the unit to your chosen container. It easily attaches to most anything that you choose to cook your food in. The packaging is really nice and professional looking. RIght out of the box, I could already see the quality of the product. I wasn't surprised, since I have other inkbird products that have the same great quality. My first cook was a 48 hours on some beef shortribs. I set the timer and also set up the WIFI on my phone with the suggested app and was able to monitor the unit from upstairs. My unit was set up in my basement. 2 days later when the timer notified me that it was finished, I was pleased to find that the temp was still holding a steady 136 degrees fahrenheit. The meat was done perfectly. I have since cooked some Wild Mallard duck breast, which can be challenging to cook. 3 hrs at 135 degrees produced some of the best wild duck breast that I have ever had. The unit again kept the water at a steady temp and performed flawlessly. The directions are quite easy to follow and the unit is very quiet while running. I have borrowed a friends sous vide cooker before that is a different brand. I like this one better. I would definately recommend this unit to my friends and family. I wish I had taken some pictures. I will for sure next time.

Well worth the money and user friendly
I chose the inkbird sous vide cooker as my introduction into SV cooking, and I'm glad I did. After being happy with the instant read thermometer I decided to give inkbird SV a try. out of the box as you can see the temp is within 1/10 of a degree of the instant read thermometer (that had been verified accurate. The ease of use is really straight forward. After going thru the settings and playing with them a bit I downloaded the app and set up and linked the SV to my phone. I have a dual ban router so it linked up to my 5GhZ at first. All I had to do was go to my phones wifi and change it to the 2.4ghz. I then did a trial run and it heated 20qt of water from 86°f to 133°f in about 15min. Seemed like a reasonable amount of time for me. The count down timer I set at 1hr to make sure it held the temp. I also left the house for about a half hour and was able to check how the process was going with the SV. It performed flawless. Next afternoon i set up to do 3 select NY strips 1.5" thick. Heated water to 133° and began a 4hr cook. After the time was up I checked the internal temp of the steaks and they were 133°!. I patted them dry and gave them a sear on my charcoal grill and they were amaizing! Tender from center to edge, and perfect doneness for me and my family, no need for prime grade meat with this SV cooker! As a bonus I took the leftover juice from the vac seal bag and made a mushroom sauce with it. I would suggest if you are looking for a SV cooker to give the inkbird a try.

Reasonably Priced / Great Performance
I've used imersion cookers for years. The Inkbird is a great unit with an easy to configure app for your smartphone. I purchased two of these units, one for home and one for cooking at a remote kitchen when traveling. Very accurate and well built. The only fault for me is the clamp. It can't be used on large picnic coolers when cooking larger volumes. I rectified this by making a standoff clamp using PVC pipe. Overall a great unit for any home kitchen. Easy to use, very accurate temperature control, easy to clean. Also a great unit for those who are unsure about Sous Vide cooking, you won't regret it.

Wish i would have bought this years ago!
My go to for perfect steaks. Controlable cook times, allow you to prep whatever you are cooking, get them in the water and cooking. then you can clean real quick to prep the next thing before you remove it and allow the meat to rest then sear or serve! Super easy to use, the BT and WiFi setting are awesome as well!

Worked last year. Now she's DEAD Jim!!!
I'm very careful to NOT write bad reviews. It's hard out there and I don't like spreading negative energy. Maybe this is the first negative review I have ever written on Amazon. Had an Anova for 5 years, used every year for 100+ hours. It died, but my fault. I bought two replacements last year, Dec 19th 2021. Why two? they were half price of the Anova. So cool. One was this Inkbird the other brand was Crux. I don't care about features. I want simplicity and reliability. I want to turn it on. Set the temp and walk away. I don't even need a timer. I use the timer/alarm on my phone. ...but fine all of them have timers. Don't want or need WiFi either. All I want... 3 PRIME Requirements: Heat up fast Hold a constant temp that I set Circulate water The Inkbird (the one I bought last year) has way too many settings. It's a total PITA (Pain In The A**) to set the temp. That should be THE EASIEST THING. I have to keep holding the set button then change the temp with small buttons and the temp reading is like sized 14 font and there is a bunch of other crap on on their screen that is useless. Design team, take notes: I should be able to see the temp setting easily from 6 feet away! OK, full disclosure. I would not be writing if I was not kind of pissed right now. All my other criticism is completely forgivable if it were not for this one reason...and the reason is thus: It no longer heats water!!! Used it for like 36 hours last Christmas. Just got it back out today. Ran it for several hours in a pot set for 120 degrees. Temp just rose to 89 degrees which is about the ambient temp of the garage and sat there. It was stored in the same clean, dry, dark location as the Crux. The Crux still HEATS WATER. I'm out. Peace!
