Pan Handle Fits Manfrotto 501 HDV Fluid Head
It was difficult to find a pan am that properly fit my Manfrotto 501 HDV fluid head when I was using it to shoot photos and video with a Canon DSLR vs. a Sony z5u which uses an integrated Sony zoom/focus pan arm. This item fits perfectly.

Did NOT fit my 501HDV
Despite what the description says, the part I received did NOT fit my Manfrotto 501HDV head. The screw is too big and the gear teeth do not mesh. See photo. I took a chance as another buyer said the part they received did fit their 501HDV. Fortunately, Amazon has accepted the return.

doesn't fit
The screw is too big for my 501 head...what's with that & what's the fix?>??? Isn't it suppose to fit any 501 head? And if the screw doesn't fit, or can be adapted, then what??? I just have an expensive club!!!
