it arrived unbroken and it worked!
I bought this for my canary hen; the room she is in is colder in the winter. She's near the window, and though there are curtains, and inside plastic over the window, she still gets cold here in Maine. This is a lightbulb, that doesn't provide 'daylight' but does provide a very low dose of light and very low amount of heat. It's enough heat to keep my canary warm; I can tell on particularly cold days, that she sits under neath it (the bulb is in a 'clamp lamp' metal shade) for a bit and after a while will move away from it. The metal shade doesn't get hot, so it is safe to leave on overnight. (check yours anyway.) It's also used to keep cold blooded animals like lizards, reptiles, etc. Good job in making and packing it.

My leopard gecko loves it!
Have gotten a few of these, I use the 40w in winter and the 25w in the summer. 40w is quite a bit brighter and warmer, so if you are going for a true nighttime feel the 25 is probably the best option as long as you also have a heat mat. My leopard gecko basks in them occasionally when he's out from the rock cave so he seems to like the brightness level, and I can actually see him climbing around at night. Have gotten a few and none have come broken, great quality!

as they happily croak along under it's light all night long
We use this for our gray tree frogs. They seem to approve, as they happily croak along under it's light all night long! The bulb will last a while. Last one went over a year before it died.

Good bulb, but not good dependability
I like the bulb because of its blue color. It is not too bright while still offering 40w which was perfect to keep my gecko warm. I gave it four starts because I bought it in August and today (October) it went out, so it only lasted about two months.

Love the ambiance
This bulb is just what we were looking for. It provides a good amount of heat (I keep it on the cool side) for my ball python to supplement her under-tank heating pad. I like that it gently lights the tank so I can see it at night. I put the bulb in a clip-on lamp and keep it on all the time. It’s been a couple months and no problems yet!

Very happy with this! It's just the right amount of light while still warming the terrarium

My crestie loves it
My crestie loves it. It helps bring the humidity down to the appropriate level during the day (I live in a very humid environment and this was an issue beforehand) and also gives him a warmer side to chill in. It's not bright AT ALL, so it doesn't affect my sleep or the darkness of my room.
