Each of the small pieces is approximately 1 centimeter so it works perfectly for me to put one in the shoe on my short leg. They give you multiple pieces so you can stack them if you need more left. They are made of gel that's very comfortable. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because they do tend to slide around a little bit as you walk and I sometimes have to push them back into place. They do have little suction cups so itll work on some materials but that does not work on soft material. I have tried using double-sided tape and may try to think of something else.
