Speedo Kid's Begin to Swim UV Printed Neoprene Vest

My daughter loves the water but has been pretty nervous in it and during swim lessons. I purchased this for her and she wore it almost every day on our month long beach vacation. This vest is great because it requires the child to put in some swimming effort - kicking and paddling. After a long while in the water she would get tired because she was required to use some swimming skills rather than just float around like in a regular vest.I felt confident enough in the vest that I didn't feel the need to be right in the water with her and felt safe enough watching her just in case she needed me. DO NOT rely on the vest for complete safety. This really is a begin to swim vest, just as the title suggests.We returned from our vacation and she resumed her swimming lessons and it was amazing how much she had improved and how much confidence she had gained by wearing the vest!You can't use this a complete floatation device, it just gives them enough boost to put some swim skills to use.She is 5 and wears a 5, it was a perfect fit. I think she could have used it last year and believe she could use it next year if she needs it.Loved the neoprene, no rashes and loved that the crotch strap was neoprene again no rash.Highly recommend this vest, we love it!!!

When our daughters (ages 4 and 2) were learning to swim, we initially used standard life vests to help them stay above water. These vest are great for boat safety, etc, but were awkward, way too bulky to let them swim freely, and hindered their learning. Purchasing these vests has solved our problems and we have been very pleased with the girls' progress since then. Great range of fit with this product - The officially size chart is available on speedo's website, but the medium size fit both my tall, slender 4 year old and my average height, slightly above average weight 2 year old. The girls can swim comfortably in the water without fear of going under or the bulk of traditional life vest. Great purchase!

My daughter had a pool party for her 6th birthday and I ordered two of these vest. The pink one in the large (for my 6 year old) and a blue one in Medium (for my 2 year old). First I want to say that I got my order super fast! Two days after I ordered to be exact. The life jackes fit my children just right, and it kept them a float during the two hours we were in the pool. My daughter was so confident and happy. She really felt like she could learn to swim without panicing or being afraid. I am so happy with my purchase. I am happy with the price, delivery, product, and this company. I would order again in a heartbeat.

This was recommended to us by a friend. I wasn't sure how my then 1 1/2 year old would take to it. But he slipped it right on and loved wearing the life jacket. My son is larger than average in weight and height and this life jacket fit just right. He was able to move well but still feel secure. We just tried it on him a year later to see how it would be for this summer. We were shocked it still fit him well. Not sure if it will make it all summer, but the life jacket had served us well.

Luckily I read from other reviewers they run small and ordered a Large for my 7 year old daughters (they are both just 40lbs). They fit great and can't imagine they would work if they were even a tiny bit smaller! They are light enough to swim with them but beware they can cause a rash under the arms if you are truly learning to swim...we have my girls wearing rash guard's too. I can't imagine this summer without them. It's been a great tool and know our girls will be swimming independently soon!

The weight range for this product is 30-50 lbs. I have a large 1.5yo and a slim 3.5yo that are in the mid-30 pound range. We purchased these and while they both fit well on my kids, the vest could not keep either of them above water. That is a big problem. Due to a time crunch with a vacation around the corner I'm going to use these with water wings or other floaties. If I had more time, I would definitely return these. Buyer beware...

As a former lifeguard and swim instructor, I recommend this life jacket. Very safe and comfortable. It allows the child to learn to swim and protects from drowning. However, it is much smaller than the size specifications led on. I would not put this on a child over 5. The crotch strap isn't long enough.

I received this in the mail today and it is exactly as expected. Though we have not used it yet, I expect it to serve the purpose of a swim aid in the pool. It is definitely not a life saving vest as many reviews state. I purchased this for my 5 y.o. daughter. She is approximately 42 pounds, 40 in tall, and wears a 5T in most clothing. I would say she is an average build; not too skinny, not chubby. She runs in about the 50th percentile for her height/weight. The medium I ordered fit her perfectly. I think she will only get one season out of it, however, I could have used this a year ago and gotten two years out of it. Many review said the medium was too small, but it fit perfect on her.

Excellent
