Contender Fight Sports Boxing Training Platform Speed Bag

Have used other speed bags and this one was a disappointment. The size of the stitched panels were not even which made the bag bounce around when hitting it. I figured it may take some time to beat around until the leather softened but it still didn't resolve the problem. The strap seems narrow too, but rugged enough to do the job so far. It was larger than I expected from the description. Already have a medium size bag and this is not much smaller.Thought that maybe I would put more air into it to 'round' it out a bit but it never stayed real firm. Always seemed to be just softer than I wanted, so I gave up on over-pumping it since it was a lost cause. Guess I'll be looking around for a better quality bag that I can really crank up the repetitions and get a solid workout. Right now I usually end up being more frustrated than tired.

UPDATE: I've increased the amount of air I put into the bag, pumping in more than I had previously at any time. And while there are no specific inflation guidelines, I can say that the bag does not appear to be losing air anymore. It seems you have to inflate it, then inflate it some more when you think you've added enough air. Long story short, it works great now without losing air.ORIGINAL REVIEW: The bag itself seems very durable. However, after using it only a few times it seems like the bladder inside it has lost a lot of air. The last speed bag I owned never had this problem. Overall, that's the only issue I have with it. If you keep an air pump handy, it should work fine for you.Just a side note on the size. I ordered a medium size, but if I had to do it again I'd order a larger one. This just seems a little small for an adult.

This Medium Contender Speed Bag is still holding up after daily use for about a year. All the stitching and the shape has not changed. I add about three pumps of air every 4 or 5 days.I have a small speed bag of the same brand with the same quality of this medium speed bag.I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend.

Seems to track pretty well. The seams are alittle roughly stiched but the leather seems to hold up pretty well. Bladder requires refilling pretty regular to maintain the desired pressure but short of that it is a nice speed bag for home recreational use.

The leather texture makes the bag move slowly. Having sides (rather than being one continuous round surface) makes it bounce in unpredictable directions, including off of your glove as well as off of the board. Better speedbags exist.Also, be warned. The "small" size is not 5x8, but 6x9.

I have had no problems with this speed bag, except for my own coordination when trying to use it! If it's your first speed bag, be aware that if you intend on using a bike pump to blow up the bladder, you will need the little "pin" attachment. It's the same type of attachment that you would use to blow up a basketball. You can pick them up at any hardware store for a few bucks.

Was smaller than I thought but is durable and works well for my kids.

Awesome! I bought it for my boyfriend but I use it also. It's very strong and durable. I put air in to it with my bike pump, it does require a needle.

I have about 15 hours of actual hitting time on this bag and have had to reinflate it only once, as compared to my Everlast speed bag which needs top ups every couple of days. The rebound and action of the bag is very nice, smooth and fast yet controllable.It came on time and was just as described. The shell has not shown any signs of cracking or wear as of yet and is a nice visible design.I am happy I spent the few extra dollars for a much better bag than I had before.

This is a decent bag. It stays inflated. has good action and seems well made. It's a true medium, with some size and weight, so it provides a solid workout.

Bounces well. Loses air after a week. Overall I love it for the price and quality,

Excellent for anyone who has already had a bit of experience with the speed bag before. In terms of value for money, this product is great and lasted me for a good amount of time.
