L'Occitane Refreshing Verbena Eau de Toilette Enriched with Organic Verbena, 3.3 Fl Oz

I realized today that I don't play fair. I depend quite often on reviews when I shop online. The more specific and detailed the better. So many people leave extremely helpful reviews. I need to help others as others help me. So here I go!I think, to understand why I love this brand so much, and this scent as my personal go to daytime favorite, I have to give you some details about me. I am 50 years old, my life is very complicated, and I have two very different businesses. I am a Professional Animal Behaviorist & Dog Trainer. I do a lot of charity work with abused animals. I am also a Pro Makeup Artist and Aesthetician, and I still do hair as well. Most of my time anymore is donated to time at women's shelters, teaching how to take care of skin and how to apply makeup for job interviews. I enjoy doing bridal & bridesmaid makeup and hair. My hubby is an attorney in the corporate sector, and there are certain social obligations there.SO! I cannot go around working with women on their faces and their hair smelling like dogs, and the opposite is even more true: can't work with abused high risk dogs while smelling complicated and chemical. There are several perfumes that I love dearly, and only wear when I'm not working, or when I'm going out in the evening. Some of those are...Flower Bombe, Amarige, Fendi (old and new), Romance, and for daytime I love 8 by Abercrombie and Fitch. All florientals, most have patchouli and/or musk as a base note.We all know that perfumes are complicated things, and what smells wonderful on you will also smell awful on someone else. Chalk that up to body chemistry and individual olfactory triggers. In other words, "The nose knows!" Why I mention the perfumes I love is because I know that when I bathe and moisturize with L'Occitane Verbena bath and body products, any of those perfumes go very well with the lemony scent. This is one of those very simple and pure scents that doesn't compete with other perfumes you might choose to wear over the layers of this scent if you use the bath and body products as well as the scent itself. To me, and on me when it's dried down, this smells softly of fresh lemons with a touch of sunshine, just like the verbena plant. That doesn't mean it will smell that way on everyone.What I suggest, if you're interested but hesitant to buy the bottle before you even smell it or apply it, is to look at all of the products in this line, and perhaps choose one that's less expensive to try. I can guarantee that regardless of the scent, their body products are deeply moisturizing and feel wonderful going on. They melt right into your skin, without a greasy residue feeling. The upside is whether you like the scent on yourself or not, you'll still have nicely moisturized skin, which at my age is essential even though I don't have particularly dry skin, I do have time and gravity to contend with. Free radicals don't care who they stick to!If you love the gentle scent of lemon, and single note perfumes and body sprays, this one is for you! If you enjoy the clean smells that come from other product lines, like Philosophy's fresh and simple scents that are clean and not flowery or powdery smelling at all, you'll probably like this. There are several brands of bath and body care that I recommend to women that don't cost a designer fortune, and L'Occitane is one of them.For me, I was just jumping for joy inside when I found this! Many years ago I got hooked on a body spray called Lemon Verbena. They discontinued it, and I felt like I'd just lost a dear friend. Apparently, that dear friend's name is now L'Occitane! I love to layer the shower gel, the body scrub, the cream and the lotion and the body spray. They even have body towelettes in a resealable package, which are for me, for all those reasons I listed above, a much loved necessity, and I carry a pack with me in my purse everywhere! I use them so often on my arms, my neck and décolleté! They don't just smell wonderful, they feel wonderful too. No dry or tight feeling left behind. L'Occitane Verbena is my special miracle, and I hope they never discontinue this simple, fresh, citrusy, lemony line. If you have ever smelled a verbena plant, then you already know what's inside this bottle!

I first found this scent when I had a job that required me to travel a great deal, moving from city to city every day over 10 day stints. When you are on the go from sunrise until midnight with little time to freshen up, this clean, fresh scent is a wonderful pick me up. The best thing about this scent, though, is that often I find people looking around trying to figure out what smells so great until they realize it's me. It is such a light, refreshing fragrance that no one expects what they are smelling to be perfume -- rather, they look for something growing nearby. Of course, I do live in a region with lots of citrus trees and verbena, which also explains why folks look around for what's growing or blooming. It does wear off rather quickly, but the 20 ml size is perfect for a handbag, and it's a light enough scent that you won't overpower anyone's nose if you spritz in the bathroom and walk directly back to other people like, for example, at a dinner table.

Just got this! I'm a Verveine boy. I've been using Verveine ever since I married my husband and my mother in law introduced me to her verveine plant in her garden. I bring fresh verveine dried up from France and use it in my tea every night. Its smell is so wonderful! It's citrus, lemon. That's the closest I can say....Verveine has a smell of its own that can't be described. A lot of the reviews here say it's on the fem side, I highly disagree. Even for my regular cologne, I like fresh, citrus and this provides that. It's not sweet at all BUT it will give you a lite floral scent which I don't mind as long as it's not sweet and girly.I can't figure out how long the scent stays on me though. I know it stayed on for 2-3 hours but after that, I can't smell it, but I don't know if I can't smell it because my nose is used to it or if it's gone. Either way, I love this Cologne and it's surely Unisex

This is exactly what I was looking for! It is bright, citrusy, fresh, clean and crisp. Yet there is a softness, a bit of a floral to it too, which is really, really nice. The scent doesn't last quite as long as I'd like, but that's to be expected with a natural perfume and a trade-off I'd gladly make to avoid excessive chemicals. It is a generous size for the price you pay. Would highly recommend!

I am no stranger to spending a great deal of money on famous fragrances. A few years ago, I purchased this scent directly from one of their stores. I never looked back. Amazon has the best price, even saving me a trip to a mall...! This scent is one that I am complimented on all the time. No more heavy, floral perfumes. This one is fresh and light.

I love this light and airy scent. It smells clean and fresh. Not a heavy scent like many perfumes.

I first experienced this scent on a business class trip overseas. It was part of their bag of toiletries, and I immediately liked the scent. It definitely hasn't ceased to disappoint. This is something you can wear to work everyday. Note that you should take a small bottle as well, because the scent doesn't last all day.

I like this fragrance but I don't love it. I have to use a lot just to smell anything. Even if it lingers for other people to enjoy, I can't enjoy it if I can't smell it. The scent is very very similar to my lemon essential oil that I bought for $15 (4 oz) on Amazon. I'm still trying to find a light citrusy fresh scent that lasts a little longer than a few minutes.

Stunning fragrance with a powerful fresh, natural citrus burst and a slight note of rose. Feels like being in a lemon grove on a sunny day!Its not the longest lasting fragrance as fresh, green citrus notes tend not to be but it can be prolonged using other products in the range such as soap and shower wash.You can even spritz this into your hair, and this does last a long time. It's very gentle and the high-quality ingredients are obvious.Will definitely be back for more and buying extra for presents.The L'Occitane products are amazing and I'd recommend them, but be warned, you'll not want to use anything else afterwards!
