Ambrrhty Headphones Adapter

***Update March 18, 2015***One of the bulbs quit working. The light was still bright enough to read by at night, but I thought I'd replace the bulb anyway. I contacted Certain Way to find out how tand discovered they are not replaceable. I had not asked the company to do anything about the situation, but they went on to take care of it regardless. They clearly went above and beyond, so I would give their customer service five stars.*********This light is designed for music stands (I believe it would work wonderfully for that), but I bought it as a reading light to attach to the top of the bed headboard.Brightness – 5.0 – Each light head has two levels of brightness. I can read my older non-backlit Kindle fine in an otherwise dark room even with one light.Flexibility – 4.0 – Two light heads gives you more flexibility to adjust the light so you can change positions as you read with no problem. Great idea. The only downside to flexibility is that the clamp will only open to about 1.25 inches, and even at that it probably wouldn’t hold well. Expect about three quarters of an inch maximum clamping width. That meant I had to put it at a very inconvenient place on the headboard. Remember, though, this is not the intended use of this light. For a music stand, I’d give it a 5.0 on flexibility.Power – 5.0 – Since I’m using it as a reading light, I used the attached USB cable and AC adaptor to keep it plugged in. Batteries are not included--not a problem for me since I don’t plan to use them. If you do use them, be aware that the unit is not a battery charger, so if you use rechargeable batteries you will have to charge them externally. It uses 3 AAA batteries. You can leave ordinary batteries in the unit in even with the unit plugged in, since the unit is not a charger. Since I don’t plan to use batteries, I didn’t test battery life.Overseas Use – 5.0 – The plug says 220V which should make it fine for overseas use, and the small size and light weight should make it optimal to carry around in your luggage.Size – 5.0 – The light is very small and compact, which is a plus. There is no huge lamp hanging over the bed to be concerned about.Support – 5.0 – I haven’t needed support. But this is one of those small companies that has sprung up on Amazon that seems to be going out of its way to provide superior customer service. I got an e-mail from the company via Amazon Marketplace after the purchase, which is the standard mode of operation for these companies. While some people might not like getting an unsolicited e-mail, I applaud the fact that the company seems to be going out of its way to take customer support seriously. It gives me confidence that if there was a problem, they’d most likely take care of it.OVERALL – Great light, flexible, bright, very useful, though I would wish for a wider clamp to mount it in a more convenient location on the bed. I have no affiliation at this time with either Certain Way or Amazon.

So far, so good with this light. Needed it fast for a show but not sure it would arrive in time - was pleasantly surprised to get an email early the next morning that my order was being shipped. Still figured it would take a while, but NO, it was in my mailbox a day earlier than I was hoping for. LOVE having the AC adapter - the light I had borrowed eats batteries like crazy, and no one wants to take a chance on being left in the dark (literally) in the middle of a show. Yet if you are too far from the power supply you can use the batteries if you need to. Also like the adjustable brightness. Only reasons for 4 stars, not 5: first, I personally find the bright white of the bulbs a bit harsh, but that is only my preference; second, the entire unit (including adapter) is rather lightweight so I'm not sure how long it will last; finally, I would like a longer cord on the adapter to reach a power supply more easily. But overall a great buy for the price - exactly served the purpose I needed, item received quickly and well-packaged. Bonus points to the vendor for the follow-up emails regarding delivery and how to operate the light, change batteries, etc.

Does not include AAA batteries.In service 6/5/2014.Application: Audio/Lighting tech operator work light; stage music stand lighti purchased this after seeing/using a colleagueʻs Mighty Bright 51810 Duet2 Music Light. The arms themselves measure 8.5" from the base to the center of the lamp, which is probably an inch or so shorter than the mighty bright. Other than that, the functions are identical.The light is very bright, even with one led per head mode. For light tech operators, this may be an issue if you are running a show in manual mode, and need to adjust colors, or in any other way need visual sensitivity under low light conditions. i will be securing some gel to this to help maintain eye sensitivity.The clamp has a swivel tip - it can switch from a flat clamp to a pincer type. have had no use for the pincer, but i assume at some point i will discover the utility of that option. Unfortunately, it does slip a bit when vertically mounted, such as on the side of a frame, which will probably be easily rectified by getting some self-adhesive foam tape attached to the clamp-side surface of the base. there is some on the tip of the clamp.Although i wish the arms were as long as the Mighty Bright, i am totally satisfied with this light.

For 20 bucks, this is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time and I plan to buy another one. I'm old and getting blind, but I make beaded jewelry and this little light is perfect to sit right on the table near my work. I love the fact that it stands up on its own in addition to being able to clip it to something. I clip it to my keyboard so I can read my music. I plan to take it camping as it will work great in the camper for reading at night. It's small and lightweight, but throws a good amount of light. The clip seems like it will last, too. An AC plug is also included which is great so you don't have to waste batteries if you are near electricity. In addition to the product being great, I received 3 e-mail from the company; 1 to tell me it shipped and how to install the batteries when it arrived, 1 with some FAQs and company contact info in case I had any questions, and 1 a few weeks later to ask how it was working. All this support for a $20 item. But guess what? If this company had a more expensive item that I needed, I would not hesitate to purchase from them again. If you are looking for a small clip on light, I would highly recommend this one.
