Great Value for a sword of this type.
This sword arrived way sooner than I had expected it to. (13 days from order to delivery date.)It appears to be a well built blade, and the saya that came with it was in perfect condition, unlike one or two other reviewers who had problems with theirs.I haven't tried cutting anything with it yet. Not sure if I will. But if the blade is truly a 1095 carbon steel blade, then I can't imagine having any issues with it.It seems to be sharp, but not razor sharp. But not sure you need razor sharp on a blade like this. The blade is plain. It doesn't have any pattern to it. But then for the money, I wouldn't really expect it to.The blade comes with a "blood groove" ("Bohi" if I remember my nomenclature correctly). Not sure what else I can say about it, other than I think it would be hard to find a better value on a sword of this quality online. I am tempted to get a similar styled one elsewhere that I have seen and like the looks of, that is at least twice the cost, just to compare the two.I think as long as you get one of these that doesn't have an issue with the saya, you should have no regrets.

Good steel, bad wood
Packaging was better than expected, and blade is superb: cut through an industrial cardboard box fresh from unpacking. However, as good as the steel is, I can’t say the same for the wood. The handle doesn’t mate flush with the scabbard, leaving a slight gap (see picture). The other major issue is the handle itself is cracked along the spine (see other picture). Overall length of the sheathed sword was 41”, measured this one to be 39.5”. I’m not so concerned about the 1.5” length difference, but I figured I’d point it out anyway. I’ll keep the sword in spite of the woodworking problems due to the blade being above what I expected from a $110 sword (I have enough woodworking skills to make a new handle), but buyers take note that you should really inspect the wood if you choose to buy this piece.

DO NOT BUY!!
Horrible quality took it out of box and had it sitting on bed and the handle cracked right up the side. I didnt even touch it. In process of returning. Very disappointed.

Superb quality wood, nice and sharp
The sword arrived much sooner than expected. Everything is VERY well made. The wood on the sheath and handle are very smooth and varnished. The handle is double-pegged. The blade is nice and sharp upon arrival, no sharpening necessary.
