Nippy fun, solid build
This thing feels less like a hoverboard and more like a mischievous little kart that just happens to live on the pavement outside the primary school. Those chunky 8.5-inch pneumatic tyres chew through bumps and loose gravel without blinking, and the twin motors tucked inside give an instant shove when the lights go green, or when my daughter yells “race you, Dad”. Up front, bright white LEDs cut through the gloom, while a red lamp at the back lets dog-walkers see you coming. Everything is housed in a casing that will not take kindly to catching fire, which is reassuring. The companion app is straightforward once you have jumped through the Halo Rover hoop. It tells you speed and battery life and lets you flick between beginner, normal and the unofficial “Dad needs to blow off steam” setting. I hover around 99 kilogrammes, brushing the weight limit, yet the board still drags me up the gentle slopes on Clapham Common. It even keeps its footing when rogue conkers roll beneath the wheels. A built-in Bluetooth speaker belts out whatever the children insist on, loud enough for them, slightly tinny for me. Shame you cannot swap LED colours to match the playlist, but you cannot have everything. Safety cut-offs bite the moment you step off, the deck feels properly stout, and knowing there is a UK service centre nearby calms the parental nerves. For the price, you are getting plenty of shove, plenty of grin-inducing stability and a toy that doubles as an excuse to nip to the fridge faster than anyone else in the kitchen.

Great fun, minor niggles
Yesterday evening I borrowed my son's GeekMe 8.5-inch hoverboard, and took it for a lazy loop around our neighbourhood in south Manchester. I had expected the usual rattling teeth and sudden jolts, yet it glided over potholes and cracked paving slabs without complaint. Those fat, knobbly tyres, driven by a pair of 350 watt motors, seem happy carrying my gangly 105 kilogram frame. The foot plates light up like a miniature nightclub, which amused passers by, and the built-in Bluetooth speaker is loud enough to alternate between my little one's Peppa Pig soundtrack and a bit of Guardians of the Galaxy when it is my turn. There is a companion app that shows speed and remaining battery, although on my Android phone it was moody and refused to change the headlight colours. Swapping to the Halo Rover app restored the essential functions, just not the disco lighting. On mixed paths I managed roughly twelve kilometres before the battery warning began to flash, more than enough for a wander to the park and back with the children. The only part that feels cheap is the charging brick, so I shall treat it gently. Solid construction, punchy motors and genuine off road tyres make this board terrific fun for the money, even if the software still needs a little care and attention.

Good quality but power cut off by itself while I’m riding on it.
Here, I’m not really recommend this hoverboard to anyone. The quality looks amazing, but having a serious issue that I’ve got. Here’s story. I received it three weeks ago, and one of headlights doesn’t works from day one. Then I went to aftersales, they r quite nice, they swap new one to me. I send old one back, then 3 days later I received new one. I thought story will be end, cos all lights working well. But it turns out an really serious problem. IT CUT OFF POWER BY ITSELF WHILE IM RIDING ON IT, it happened twice in a day. I thought I was my mistake at first time, I didn’t ride it well bailable, but it cut off the power while im stay still. Then I realised it’s not my fault, it’s the hoverboard itself. Gosh, fortunately, in not get hurts. So now, I have to return it for refund, even I have to pay for return. cos i can’t trust it anymore. Imagine it while you riding fast and power cutoff by itself?

Great fun
I thought this was really good for the money, couple of issues with it that don't really effect my use of it. It doesn't work with any of the apps you can download for hover boards (won't connect) and the auto levelling isn't as good as it is on my sons Samsung board. That said I'm 90kg and I zip around on it no problem loads of fun 👍

Handsome, well designed, excellent quality, durable and great performance.
Wow. This all-terrain hoverboard has survived a whole month without my rough, boisterous son breaking it. No other toy has lasted that long with him. It doesn't even have a scratch on it. He spends most of his waking hours on it and it has so many features. It tells him his speed, plays music etc. It is tough, durable, well made, high quality and despite my son's harsh treatment of his toys it looks and performs as good as new. It's easy to use and much nicer, more attractive and better quality than his last one which cost the same price. This is a wonderful hoverboard - best purchase for my 7 year old ever.

Really robust and reliable
We got this for our daughter and I have to say I was so nervous about buying rubbish. I can thankfully report that it's an amazing piece of kit. Easy to set up, battery lasts a long time, excellent balancing and has been tested by dad whose 17stone with no issues. If you are looking around unsure which hoverboards are good, I can say we have been really pleased by this one. So far it's been a star buy and my girl spends a lot of time on it.

Great board, bad App
The board seems good. Kids got used to it very quickly. However it’s stuck in beginner mode. The app connects, plays music, shows the speed, but wouldn’t change the mod out of basic, which means it is not powerful enough for an adult user. Sadly had to send this back. Shame as the actual build quality of the board is great, but they let it all down with a rubbish app.
