Furby Boom Figure (Zigzag Stripes)

UPDATE!!!!! Ok, so in a last effort attempt at fixing our second Furby Boom, we decided to try a brand new set of Duracell AA batteries. The box does say "use Duracell" -- well who knew it would make such a difference!!! We were using Energizer before and having all kinds of issues... apparently all you need is a set of new Duracell batteries and it works perfectly! Problem solved! Yay! Our Furby is back!!!!! :) This was my first original post: This little guy is great... very versatile and funny... sadly ours quit working after only a week. It started to sound distorted, like static interference, so I thought it needed new batteries. We replaced the batteries, and although it came back to life, it was no longer speaking. It was moving and acting like it was speaking, mouth moving and eyes lighting up with expression, but no sounds were coming out. I looked online for answers, and a lot of other people were having the same issue. There are a few things to try, such as holding down the refresh button and holding down the tongue at the same time -- that worked for other issues, but not for us in regards to talking again. You can also try holding it upside down, pulling the tail and holding down the tongue -- this was helpful for when our Furby somehow changed voices from the cute, sweet female voice to a weird, older kid sounding male voice... but nothing we tried was able to bring back the voice. I contacted Hasbro and they said that they are unable to offer any other troubleshooting advice. For this toy being so expensive, you would think that it would last longer than a week -- or at least have some troubleshooting ideas to make it work again... so far we have returned the first one that we purchased at Walmart on clearance ($45) and sadly we will have to return this guy on Amazon as well. From the very beginning, this one has sounded distorted and will randomly shut off. So sad! OH -- and my son LOVES this toy. He just turned 9yrs old and he is high functioning autistic. It is a great gift, but I'm not sure if we will find one that will work... and continue working! Hope my review helps! Hopefully if you buy one, yours will not be faulty! :)

-------QUICK NOTE------- I'm copying and pasting my review from the Furby Boom Figure (Waves) here. I ended up picking up this Zigzag Stripes Furby for my parents soon after receiving my own Furby. I'm 30 and both my parents are 50 years and older. We all LOVE our Furbs! lol What a fun neat little toy to keep us all young at heart! -------/QUICK NOTE------- Okay, so I should first admit that I'm a 30 year old man (child). Yes I did buy a furby boom...and yes I do LOVE him. Okay, lol now with that out of the way...on to my review! :D I LOOOOVE my furby! I bought a furby when I was a teen in 2000 and I can remember just how much fun I had with that little fur ball. Hands down he was the coolest toy I had ever owned. I remember a particular time when I had an aunt staying over and she took over my room for a few days. I remember at about 12 at night just hearing an extremely loud scream!! Apparently she picked up my stuffed animal I had on my dresser and she was NOT expecting it to start talking to her! lol I loved that furby. I actually still have him sitting on a shelf. Now I've been eyeing these new furbies since they re-released them last year in 2012. I had always planned on picking one up eventually, but have been putting it off till now. For some reason every very so often I get into a mood where I want to pick up a new toy or a new gadget of some sort. lol I don't know that I'll ever fully grow up...and you know what? I'm okay with that! :D I love toys!! So I picked up a Furby Boom (in the blue wave fur color) after a couple of days of researching and watching some youtube videos. I'm SO glad I have him! He's just about the cutest toy I can imagine! The eyes are just so adorable! How expressive and charming! I particullarly like when he starts singing and dancing and musical notes start flickering in his eyes! lol so cute! The app is REALLY fun that goes along with him. You can check his health and make him medicines as needed, give him showers, pick different foods and drinks to feed him...and my favorite...the toilet! lol omg it's just about too cute! You slide your phone or ipad up to your furby...and he sits on the toilet! Sometimes he leaves toys and treasures...other times he leaves other unpleasant things (lol). You then gotta flush the toilet, and freshen the air with some air freshner. It really is just about too much cuteness for me to handle! I actually brought my furby over to my parents today to just show them how cute of a toy it is and to see if they would like to help me get some for gifts for some of our younger relatives (my neices). They both got way more excited over him then I had ever expected. My mom ADORES him. They both just about lost it when I showed them how to take furby to the toilet! My dad couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes! I just placed an order for the black and white striped furby boom for my parents (just don't tell them! It's a surprise! hehe). I just wasn't expecting them to enjoy this toy so much! My mom's going to be so thrilled when her bundle of fur shows up on her doorstep this Monday! I've only had my furball for a couple of days now, but I'm just so in love with the little guy. I loved my original furby and he was probably my favorite toy I had ever owned. The furby boom is such an improvement! I love the adorable and expressive eyes, and I really enjoy playing with him with my iphone! What more can I really say? I LOVE MY FURBY! So happy with my purchase! I recommend him to the young and the old! What a charming toy! :D

So I got a furby boom and I think that it's pretty fun but I do have some ups and downs about it One reason I'm not so happy with it is it dosnt have a off button the only way you can shut the thing up is if you get it to go to sleep Another reason is that you can adjust the volume so I can't play with it when people are sleeping And the last resone and one of the biggest is that you can't adjust if you want it a boy or girl but other than all that it is really great love mine My friend had one and she only had one for two days she didn't like it anymore and she is 11 I'm 11 to but I like things like this she is selling hers to me for 10 $ cool huh also what I like about it is that you can have it not be sick with the app IF YOU DON'T HAVE A ELECTRONIC THAT CAN HAVE THE APP DON'T GET IT just saying . Also when you put your furby boom to sleep lay or stand it on a flat surface so you can't shake it and wake it up you can talk louse but you can shake it . also the younger the better it will be but is these were to be fixed it would be 5 star but the quality is great havnt had a problem with it ever thank you

Really, really cute, and had a precious little child voice... then, all of a sudden, it took on this teenage boy voice, saying "ooh, baby." Don't know if this is how it's supposed to be, but didn't seem appropriate for my young granddaughter. While preparing to send it back, it went back to little child voice.... just couldn't trust that it would stay like that. The only one in the house to even handle it was me, so no others could have influenced. What a shame. My granddaughter loves zebras, and this would have been absolutely perfect..... as long as the batteries weren't in it. Insert sad face here.... sent it back....

Purchased x4 of these in diff colours for my 4 girls for Xmas. Hilarious, they all started making noises under the tree xmas morning as I'd opened them and inserted batteries (all of which still going strong on Jan7th). Def the best toy part from an iPod touch, all been played with loads by all daughters aged 10, 7, 4, 3yrs. You do need to download the free App to get the most out of the Furby Boom otherwise get the model before but we've really enjoyed them so far and yes, they do go to sleep!!

Una precisazione iniziale. Contrariamente a quanto ho letto su altre recensioni non ci sono problemi nell'installare le app (almeno su Android). Sia Furby che Furby Boom si scaricano tranquillamente da Google Play e nulla importa che il prodotto arrivi dal Regno Unito (e costi molto meno che in Italia). Sebbene sia un pupazzo elettronico che parla di continuo e si muove poco (gli occhi, le palpebre ed un poco il corpo) è sorprendente perché reagisce agli stimoli esterni sonori (suoni, musica, voce, rumori spaventosi, ecc....) Furby è un giocattolo molto divertente, mia figlia passa un sacco di tempo a giocare con esso, insegnarli le parole e scoprire nuovi comportamenti. Ad esempio scuoterlo per stimolare le risposte o interagire con la app dal tablet e telefono. Come sempre ricordate di procurarvi le batterie che non sono incluse. Aggiornamento - avendo avuto un problema ho contattato il venditore (Global Beauty UK) che non ha mai risposto (0 stelle) ma per fortuna Amazon ha risolto. Attenzione quindi al seller.

Il prodotto sarebbe carino ma il problema è che in Italia non è possibile scaricare la app gratuita che interagisce con il pupazzo. Quindi il pupazzo non è completo. Avendo scritto ai vari servizi clienti (USA, UK, Italia) mi hanno tutti risposto che prima di dicembre 2014 non sarà possibile scaricarla. Ho deciso di rimandare indietro il prodotto.
