Unit does not come with long enough water tubing.
So where to begin, This unit has plenty of flaws and plenty of great quality's as well.Lets start wit the cons.First, it has horrible gallons per minute. I would say its about 25 to 50 gallons an hour. That being said it doesn't suction very well with the attachments that are given. It does its job, however, I personally think it should have a little more power to compensate for the attachments large size.Second, the filter is horrible plain and simple. The Filter has large enough holes to allow dirt and debris to go right through it back into the tank. It clouds the tank and leaves the tank extremely messy after gravel vacuuming. However, you can make up for this by adding filter medium to filter to compensate for its lack of filtration. This will however, slow the vacuuming down slightly.Third, it is way to large of a unit to do small tanks such as 5-30 gallons. It is almost required to use it on 55-300 gallon tanks. This also comes as a downfall as the unit is NOT submersible. It is required to stay 5 inch's above the waters surface to keep the electrical components from being damaged. This comes as a downfall as it will pore water out the side of the unit and if you are not careful will make a massive mess. Now onto the pros of this unit.First, its very versatile, The unit comes with a range of attachments and can be used as a vacuum or a water changing unit. So as I said in the cons its better to use this unit as a water changing system for small tanks and gravel vacuum for large tanks. The unit has plenty of attachments for large surface area and event tiny surface area vacuuming.Second, It handles sand and substrate very well when kept on that specific area for a bit. The units motor is extremely well built. It can handle large debris with ease and will not break under such stress. The motor is EXTREMELY quiet and makes no vibration at all.Third, it does not disturb plants as much as other vacuums have done. The lack of power is a double edge sword as it does preform well in vacuuming however it leaves plants unscathed. The vacuum is decent in regards to not harming fish and plant life.Thank you for reading.

Best aquarium vacuum I have got
It is the BEST among all sorts of aquarium vacuums I have bought. Very effective and easy to use. I have several tanks of 10g, 20g, 30g, 40g, 75g, planted with substrates range from sand to gravel, all work well. One must be aware that occasionally plant debris or hair and fiber may jam the propeller of the pump and so stops suction. It is very easy to clear by open the pump cover and remove the hair etc from the rotor. Also you need to make sure the red filtration piece fit tight on the rod otherwise dust will escape. Just pay a little attention to details it works great. I never need to worry about losing suction using the siphon based vacuum, and now I clean tank more often as it is easy.

Kink
Hose is kinked and package looks badly put together hose is also very short almost worthless and sucks up sand and crushed gravel with water would only use with larger substrate and if someone reads this I would look somewhere else for diff vac

Perfect for bare bottom tanks
I've tried three of these, different brands. This one is the best. Easiest to clean, had a narrow profile for hard to reach places and the battery operated ones become a drag after a while. Love this for my bare bottom. I just use the neck to suck up detritus. I don't use the wider head.

Works really well!
Used this over the weekend! It works really well. Regardless it is a tedious project! If you are dealing with a dirty tank, my suggestion is to just empty the whole tank, clean it really well, then stay on top of cleaning with this pump more frequently. That is my plan going forward!

Not for 10 gallon tanks, doesn’t work well.
The media could not be loaded. I have a 10 gallon tank and this simply is too big to work in my tank. Also, the debris pick up is spit back out through the filter. It doesn’t work like it’s supposed to at all. Made an awful mess of my tank!

Cleaning the tank substrate is a breeze!
I love this!!! For someone who is a total neat freak, this is a dream :) Now I can keep our 10 gallon tank sparkling clean! This vacuum makes it so easy to clean the substrate that were even able to switch from gravel to sand for the first time! Doesn’t bother our fish and makes cleaning poops and food easy. My only suggestion would be to add a water changing hose - that would be nice to not have to find/buy separately. Very happy with this purchase!
