Statement 12-Pc Knife Block Set, Razor-Sharp, German Engineered

I have wanted these Henckels knives for a long time and finally got the opportunity during a Prime Day sale. I can't say enough good things about these knives. They are sharp so be careful! Compared to the dull knives I used before, there is no comparison. These knives easily slice through everything I use them for, mostly meat and veggies. This set contains every type of knife I need, including scissors and a sharpener. I will not allow these beautiful knives to sit in soapy water or the dishwasher, therefore I can't speak to how well they will hold up over time to rusting. I am relying exclusively on the well-regarded reputation of the manufacturer. Overall, I gave these knives 5-stars because of the quality, sharpness, and ease of handling. They are sturdy and I am not concerned about rusting or degrading of the metal. This is an excellent set for the price and I'm very pleased!

This knife block is wonderful. Every type of knife you could need and they have a great weight and feel to them. Most importantly, they are super sharp and work great! Highly recommend this block.

bought these knives to prep dinner. I wasn’t expecting to enter a committed relationship. The first time I used the chef’s knife, it slid through a tomato so effortlessly that I had to look around to make sure nobody saw me smiling. The sharpness is downright scandalous. Carrots? Paper-thin. Steak? Like butter. My old knives watched from the drawer in shame. The balance is incredible, the grip feels just right in your hand, and every slice is so smooth it should probably come with a warning label. Cooking has become dangerously enjoyable. I now volunteer to chop everything. “Need onions diced?” Say less. My spouse is starting to get jealous because I’ve been spending an awful lot of quality time with this knife block. Honestly, I haven’t felt this much excitement in the kitchen in years. If you’ve never whispered, “Oh… wow,” after slicing a bell pepper, you’re about to. Five stars. Sharp enough to cut vegetables… and dangerously close to stealing my heart. ❤️🔪

The knife set is just ok, the blade is on the thin side, steak knives are very sharp. All in all good set for the price.

The steel is arguably soft, but that is typical of european (particularly german) blades. The iron content of this stainless steel is high and the nickel content may be low. If left wet for long, it may develop rust spots. However, you should always clean and dry a knife after using it anyway. If taken care of, these blades will last many years. They will cut what you want and retain a nice shape. The chef's knife is great. It is the primary knife used in my kitchen. It is comfortable to use, slices through most anything with relative ease. After about ten to fifteen diced onions I like to hone the blade again to keep work quick and easy. A dull knife is much more dangerous than a sharp one they say. Despite frequent maintenance, it does an excellent job and doesn't fatigue me. The santokus are of decent quality, and feel excellent for everyday tasks. The larger one has a good weight and feeling allowing for prolonged veggie extermination, and the smaller one is light and maneuverable to really slice and shape whatever you need. The paring knife is a razor blade with a handle basically. If the chef knife is too big or unwieldy for a task, the lil guy will step up with no issue. The bread knife is sharp. It WILL cut bread. Cake too, I bet. There is another smaller serrated knife but I have yet to use it. The scissors are nothing special but provide you something to open any package of food. The steak knives are beautiful but have lesser quality steel than the bigger knives. These will straight up form rust spots if left in the sink overnight, esp along the handle and spine of the blade. Just clean them after use and they should stay pretty and sharp for ya. The included file is useful to keep my blades honed. I'd say this set is a pretty solid value for your money if you are looking for a good set of knives for the kitchen. If you don't sharpen your knives or prefer a cheap kitchenaid knife, this isn't for you. For the home cook who uses their knives for everything and appreciates them, I recommend them.

I've had this knife set for over a year now. I have no cons to it at all. I use the honing rod probably every other time I use the big chef knives, and they're still as sharp and beautiful as the first day I got them. Every single knife is sturdy and feels solid. I hand wash all the sharp blades, but I do run the serrated ones through my dishwasher sometimes because I'm lazy 😅. I like that the prep knives lay on their sides in the block, I think that protects the blades better. The steak knives fit in vertically, but I just put them in upside down so they don't rest on the cutting edge. I don't like how close the honing rod is to the bread knife right below it, but that's not too big of a deal. The knives and block look beautiful on my counter, and everything seems to be great quality. I am glad I bought this and am considering buying one for my daughter.

Very nice knives. Sale brand as our old set but different in that the handles are heavier and thicker. Very sharp and comfortable to use
