I used these to wire in a generator transfer switch to my electrical circuit box that is loaded with aluminum wiring. Using these to make the copper/aluminum connections made me feel like I was doing it in a safe manner. In the past I have used these as well as the purple wire nuts to make copper/aluminum connections. While I have never had a problem with the nuts, I prefer these.Update 2019: I have had a few purple wire nuts fails. These AlumiConn connections are far superior to purple wirenuts. Avoid the wirenuts and buy this instead.

If your house has aluminum wiring, these are a must have. These connectors will keep the aluminum and copper wires separated to eliminate the chance of arcing plus slow down any oxidation. Helps you sleep at night.

Great little product. Securely terminates copper to aluminum without the risk of shorts or fire. Definitely better alternative to wire nuts and grease, or having an electrician charge you an arm and a leg.
