Does it switch to daylight savings time automatically

well, i don't want to argue with the manufacturer here but my dr prepare did switch automatically in march 2020 but it may take up to 24 hrs to update.  i suspect that's why the manufacturer says "no."

some thoughts - i've noticed the device goes blank at the top of the hour between 1 and 4 am. it lights up again after 3 minutes or so. we're told, this behavior is indicative of a wwvb clock update. we're on the east coast and the time change "officially" takes place at 2am. for whatever reason, the clock update occurred they following day. i was pleasantly surprised. my iot devices update within hours of the change but the dr prepare runs independent of the internet.

Is the clock face so bright it will interfere with going to sleep?

There is a button to press that adjusts clock light. There are 3 modes, bright, low, and off. Works great.

how do you keep projection light on,if I push the button on top it stays on for about 10 seconds and then it goes out, it used to stay on all the time

Hello, thanks for your question. Both the projection and the screen is supposed to stay lit all the time after you plug in the clock. We assume that your clock has been searching for WWVB signal for time calibration, which happens after you reset the clock or at midnight. The projection and the backlight will resume once the calibration is complete. You can long press the "-" button to stop the clock searching time signal.

Step 1: long press the SET button and you will find a radio mast icon starts flashing next to the word ON. 
Step 2: short press the “+” button or “-” button to disable WWVB feature.
Step 3: short press the SET button to confirm the setting. Then you can wait for 30 seconds until no icons or digits flash on the screen to get out of the setting mode.
