This is definitely a good choice
Hi Folks, My name is Samuel Alves and I'm a professional artist in the games industry. I decided to do this review in order to help some of you to make the right choice. Before buying this tablet I was used to work with other more known professional brands like wacoms and ipads, and when I saw this tablet from huion I was a bit afraid of getting it. For me this was a brand that I have never heard about. But I still decided to give it a chance. I have been using this tablet for over a year now and this are my thoughts and opinions about this product. The first thing that catch my eye was how good the colours are, they are definitely on point. the calibration is good and the system to adjusted it is simple to use. the other thing is that this tablet looks very professional and the build in material feels very good too. The size of the screen for me is perfect, I use to work on a 22 inches and it tends to be to big to move around but this is a nice size. also the stand that comes with this tablet its really good and comfortable and the funny thing is that other big tablet brands are now using the same stand. I never had any issues with the drivers and they also have options that lets you customize all the buttons on the screen and an option that I praise a lot that allows the user to deactivate windows ink, for those who have some experience know that in some painting programs it is better to have this option available. otherwise you have to do it manually, but huion help us by making this option more available and simple. Now in relation to the pen, when I first tried it I was really happy. For someone that is used to using expensive tablets this can give you the same good experience and in same cases even better. The 8192 levels of pressure are impressive and super responsive which gives you a really good control over your lines. This pens is super comfortable to use and after a day of work I never had any pain on my hand but obviously this also depends on the way you grab it. Maybe the only negative aspect of this pen is that it doesn't feel has sturdy as other brands but I think it's just because it feels a bit lighter than other pens, but after a few minutes of usage you get super use to it. Another awesome feature in this tablet is the unnoticeable texture on the screen and the reason to why this is important is because it helps you to have a better control over your brush strokes, for example imagine drawing with a pen on paper and now imagine drawing on a glass surface, the control on paper is far superior making it easier for an artist to draw intentional lines. Now to make you even more reassured, when I had a minor issue with my pen, Huion solved it within a few days, and they are really helpful, not even a week past and my problem got solved. Hope this review help everyone that felt like me before getting this tablet. Cheers.

Absolute dream to use.
I just upgraded from a standard tablet to a tablet with a screen. After looking around for ages and debating on the brand I wanted to get, Huion was the winner. I waited for a while and immediately snatched up this tablet when it was on sale (£212). It came within 2 days and it was a doddle to set up. I did run into a problem where it didn't actually connect to my PC after installing the driver but I discovered that this was because I hadn't uninstalled a previous tablet driver - so they were clashing. Once I uninstalled the old driver, the tablet worked with no issues. Here's some Pro's and Con's thus far. Pro's: - Clear workspace and stunning resolution - Colours look fabulous - Easy to set up and use - Smooth usage, easy to draw with - Works with both Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint (only programs I've tried thus far) - Works even without the driver, but the driver should be downloaded for changing the quick buttons on the side - Pen came with 10 replacement nibs and 10 extra replacement nibs - Nibs can be safely stored inside pen stand with clip Con's: - I would personally prefer the USB-C wire to be separate from the USB-3 and HDMI cables as my computer does not sit directly in front of me when using therefore I get tangled in the wires. I managed to control this with the provided cable tidy. - I would prefer the stand to sit at a higher angle, though this is not a massive issue Over all, the tablet is perfect for anyone wanting to transition from a standard tablet to a more high-end tablet. Huion are just one of the top brands out there but the research I did in my own time (which I recommend doing!) is what made my mind up. It's all down to personal preference, but the workspace is nice and big, colours are clear and concise and the set up is easy!

Temperamental - but with a fix that (mostly) works.
EDIT, September 2022: I've altered the settings on my Mac so that it no longer goes to sleep at the drop of a hat. It's not a perfect fix, because it means my Mac is using more power - but it has reduced the problem of the Huion dropping it's connection - significantly - and certainly enough to award it another star. As the rest of the review says - when it's working properly, it's a great bit of kit - and now it works properly a lot more of the time. I'll be getting a new Mac soon - so I might have to update my review again at that time. Maybe it'll even get another star?? It's a great screen - a welcome upgrade from my archaic Cintiq 21 UX - but it has its problems. Around once a day - sometimes more often than that, it decides to lose its connection to my Mac. Once that happens, no power on Earth will reconnect it again - I have to restart my Mac. That's lead to a secondary problem: if I want to use the Huion as a standalone and my iMac as a second screen - the moment my Huion loses its connection, everything on both screens switches to my my iMac's screen - which screws up all my menus in Clip Studio Paint (my main drawing tool), because the iMac screen is running at a lower resolution. To counter this, I gave up using them as separate displays and had the Huion mirror the iMac display, at the same resolution (so no 4K) - so that when the Huion inevitably loses its connection, it doesn't screw all the menus up. It's not ideal, but the drawing experience is still a good one. Today, out of nowhere, the minidial stopped working, though. It's fully charged and the light is on - it's just not working. I suspect I could just reset it (I already tried turning everything off and on again - but it's still not doing anything), but it's going to be a bit of a ballache to program all my commands back into it again. And, to be honest, I'm not going to want to do that every time it just decides to stop working. Honestly? I wish I could recommend this item - but I'm actually finding it really annoying to use. When it's working right, it's brilliant - but who's got time to keep shutting everything down when you're already in deadline hell? Adopting the minidial into my workflow - only to have it stop working, is just the icing on the cake.

Really great product for a total novice
For context, I have only used this product with Clip Studio Paint and Krita so if you’re using other software your mileage may vary. I had originally bought this product as I had finished doing a renovation project and needed a new hobby, so I thought why not dive in to digital drawing. Even for a total novice like myself, the set up and installation was easy to do and after some playing around with the settings of the software above, I was able to set myself away following drawing tutorials. The product itself has a great build quality with a reassuring weight behind it despite it’s slimness. it also curved edges and well designed and meaty buttons that have a satisfying click to them when pressed fully. Initially, I did have an issue where none of the onscreen movements of the tablet matched where I was clicking with the pen this turned out to be because I was extending displays with my 4K monitor, setting the display settings to duplicate or setting the resolution of my monitor down to 2K fixed this. With that workaround in place, the tablet itself always felt responsive when I used it with either of the software mentioned above and matched my movements with the pen without any noticeable lag. The pen feels OK in the hand, but I did have a habit of knocking one of the buttons on the pen and accidentally switching to the eraser by mistake. I think this is more down to me having never used a graphics tablet before rather than it being down to a poorly designed pen. It does come with a stand that does feel a bit cheap and flimsy by comparison but I never experienced any issues with it, just feels off by comparison. The tablet has decent customisation options in terms of contrast, colour and brightness but after having a bit of a play around I reverted to the default settings as it looked fine out of the box with my set up anyway. Colour accuracy also looked spot on to me, and actually caused me to realise that my PC monitor actually needed calibrating. Overall, this was a really great product for someone totally new to graphics tablets and digital art!

Amazing product & things to consider
I've been using this for 5 months multiple times a week, and as someone who used to use displayless drawing tablets, this one is genuinely amazing and I am really amazed at how affordable, accurate and versatile it is. I'm just going to mention things I think other reviews have missed. It came in some really nice packaging to compliment the product. I unpacked it, plugged it in, downloaded drivers for Win 10 and it worked like a charm. The only issue I encountered is that with AMD hardware, you need to disable HDCP, but don't let this put you off the purchase. I just had to untick something in my pc settings, you likely won't even encounter the issue. Huion isn't to blame for this, besides it works, incredibly so. I'm sure you're aware how brilliant this drawing tablet is so I'm just going to comment omy view on what seems to be a lot of talk regarding if you should get a bigger or smaller tablet. I've not tried the bigger tablets but I can say for sure as a graphic designer and hobbying webtoonist, it's definitely not too small. There are occasions where you need to be more accurate and honestly all you need to do is zoom in more using the handy tablet controls. Tbh I rarely even have to do this. Going up in size will genuinely just make your hand and wrist ache, it will even make it less portable. I find this 12" tablet to be perfectly sized. I'd like to also comment how brilliant the display is. I honestly wish I bought one of Huion Kamvas drawing tablets instead of a new monitor as the colour reproduction is incredible and could easily replace an existing monitor of the same price, probably better or on parr to Samsung displays which are very pricy so it'd be like getting an expensive display with accurately balanced colours for cheap that even works with a very nice pen(as a graphics tablet). The colours are amazing and perfect if you want to work with accuracy. It displays reds really vividly which I've learnt many other displays fail to do.

Brilliant!!!!
This Huion pro 16 2.5k pen display is brilliant. This is my first actual pen display, having used a non-display huion tablet for many years. I wish I had got one sooner! The previous feeling of being disconnected from the artwork has now gone. Using this at the moment with corel painter I have to say the experience is phenomenal. If you are wanting to find a way to be creative digitally in a way that is as close to drawing and painting with physical mediums, this is the way to go. As a digital display/input device I cannot fault the huion tablets. They are always responsive and well built. This pro 16 2.5k is no exception and is solid with its metal casing, superb quality screen and also the programmable buttons which I have assigned simple zoom +/- ,undo/redo and eraser functions to smooth out the working process. The tablet was well packaged and the setup needed was minimal. The installation instructions are basic, but I didn't actually need any more info to get going. Huions website has plenty of info on it anyway, and there are countless YouTube videos out there. I recommend pairing this brilliant tablet with a decent software package, as otherwise you won't really benefit from the tablets potential. Just for info, the cables it comes with stretch about 1.5 meters, however I use this sitting on the sofa while my PC is across the room so I bought and hdmi extension (JSAUX HDMI Extension Cable, 2M 4K@60Hz HDR High Speed HDMI 2.0 Extender HDMI Male to Female) plus a USB 3.0 extension cable so it would reach. I also needed to get an HDMI to displayport adapter to plug into my PC graphics card. These additional bits added about £30 to my purchase overall (i just got them from amazon) but you may not need these. Just to say I bought this tablet because I wanted to be able to be creative without having easels, paints and canvases causing an annoyance in my house with 2 children tripping and knocking into stuff, so this review is not biased in any way.

Great starter tablet for the money - Initial driver install is frustrating
Bought this for my 12 year old son after he'd searched around looking for best options. I checked a few reviews myself, which all seemed good, bar a couple of comments on driver install. More on that later. The tablet itself seems solid and well constructed. I went for the optional stand as well, which allows you to tilt the tablet for optimal comfort when drawing. The pen is accurate and comes with a multitude of spare nibs, which can be stored in the sturdy desk holder provided. My son is already producing some excellent art work with the tablet, which I'm rather impressed by. I asked him to rate it for accuracy and ease of use, to which he replied 5 stars. On the value for money side, I managed to get this for £161, which included a sale price plus money off voucher. I think that's very good value for what's included and the apparent quality. I have one slight niggle. The most recent (at the time of writing) v15 driver you need to download and install on your Windows PC throws an error on our Lenovo 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. I spent a good hour googling possible solutions (others have the same issue), none of which worked. In the end, I uninstalled and downloaded the previous v14. That works fine. Other than that, all good!

Sadly, it didn't work
I recieved the tablet on time, as expected from amazon's delivery service. The tablet was packaged in a big box inside a cardboard box for protection. The actual Huion box is okay, not that attractive, but nothing to say 'no' to. The tablet itself looks good quality, it's big, sturdy and feels nice to hold. The accessories, however, have a much cheaper feel to them. Immedietly, when I saw the stand, pen and pen holder, I was no so impressed. The stand is made of aluminium with a plastic flat part at the bottom. The plastic part is really thin and the adjustable part of the stand feels quite flimsy. There is a part that you can pull out to hold the tablet in place and when I pulled it out and placed the tablet on top I noticed the tablets edge is too big for it. It's not that bad, but if you lean on it, the tablet can easily fall off the stand. The pen itself feels 'okay'. Iv'e seen better pens. The pen holder - donut - is made of cheap plastic which is quite thin and doesn't have a premium feel to it. There are some extra pen nibs and a nib remover inside which is the nicest part of it. There is a 3 in one cable. The usb-c goes into the tablet, then there is an HDMI and usb that go into your device and the last one into your wall socket. Not that good for portability as it does not take power from your device at all unlike some other brands like xp-pen where you can chose to plug it into the wall socket or for your tablet to take power from your laptop or computer. When I tried to plug the cables in and use the tablet, the tablet turned on to show the Huion logo and that's it. It simply showed a 'no signal' sign. I tried to re-connect the cables, use extenders etc, and it turned fully on for no more than one minute where I managed to test the pen for a few seconds and then turned off. I can't really say how the pen was, all I can say it that is that the curser was directly beneath the pen, which is something good. (If the tablet works, of course) Since the display did not work, it seems like the tablet I recieved was defective so I returned it. UPDATE: Still waiting for a refund. It's been two weeks already.
