The Feather Cello Pickup with Flexible Micro-Gooseneck by Myers Pickups

It's a great pickup, makes my cello sound good!

I know others said they had no problem, but in my case the mic picked up ambient sounds. When we weren't playing, it sent conversation to the amplifier. It also picked up the violin, which was distracting because the violinist was sitting far from my amp so it seemed the violin was coming from more than one location. I ordered a Realist for cello; it worked better for me and cost less.

Tired of Pickups that you have to stick to your varnish or wedge under your bridge? Anyone who uses pickups on classical instruments know how wedging a pick up under a bridge, or sticking a pick up to your varnish cannot only fundamentally harm your Instruments acoustics; but it can also Damage the instrument itself. This Myers mic is not only a much better and non invasive pick up option; but it also picks up all the texture, harmonics and articulation that a traditional pick up will not. Most importantly to me the mic is extremely resistant to feed back! Which as any professional string player can tell you is a constant problem. I Can use my Myers mic in tandem with my studio mic for excellent stereo recording as well! The Myers mic is an altogether excellent product and a must buy for Professional Gigging musicians.

We first ordered the pickup for my wife's cello and were very excited to put it to good use with our band. We play very frequently in medium size venues and were tired of having to set up a mic in front of the cello. This was the perfect answer for us! We did have a few issues with it at first due to a couple impedance issues but Gregg Meyers (the owner) got back to us himself and walked us through the problems very easily. Now it works and sounds amazing and is perfect for the shows we need to play. It gives very crisp clear sound and we can all finally hear my wife play now when the music really gets going! This is definitely worth purchasing and I recommend working with Gregg Meyers to anybody!

I couldn't be happier with my "THE FEATHER" CELLO PICKUP. The response is great the sound is gorgeous. It is easy to install and use, even for a dummy like myself. I am a classical cello student but I also play the cello in a rock band and my fellow musicians asked me to purchase a pickup. I really don't know anything about playing a wired instrument so this was not easy for me. I bought my The Feather Pickup and instantly fell in love with it. The sound and response were so great that one of the violinists in the band immediately wanted the same one, that's why I bought two in a month period. I am in love with my pickup.

This pickup is so great! We like how easy it is to use. It’s ready right out of the box and it clips on so there is no damage to the cello and can be taken on and off quickly. The customer service at this place is exceptional. If you have an issue the owner takes care of it right away. I was blown away by the level of care we have received. This thing is so fun to use. You will have no regrets. It’s perfect.

The feather captures really beautiful tone off the instrument. It’s great live, but I’ve come to prefer using it for recording over conventional mics. With a conventional microphone in a recording situation, I need to be mindful of any motion that I’m playing to the microphone and mindful that I’m not going to hit the microphone with my bow or bridge. The feather allows me to be mindful only of my parts and playing them.

This microphone was exactly what we needed! After many troubles with other pick ups for our cello, this one was wonderful! I love that it doesn't harm the instrument when attaching it too. I had questions and Greg answered them immediately - finally - someone who cares about their product and customer satisfaction. Thank you also for the helpful hint to plug into sound as a microphone instead of direct connect - feedback was non existent!!!

In a word, GARBAGE Had looked at these for a couple of years, finally ordered it to fit on an acoustic guitar, fixings were rubbish mic was no better, just put it in the draw in frustration, a waste of money and time. I am sure any review that I had read was probably written by the manufacturer.

Great sounding pickup. Used it on my oud and works very well.

I can't give this more than one star. Does seem to work with a guitar amp. And when I plug it into my USB audio interface, I do get signal. But I tried to use it with the sound system at church tonight through a DI, and there was no signal at all. This is what I bought it for. Hopefully I can get it to work somehow since I am now outside the return window. If I had discovered this a week ago it would have gone back for sure. I would not recommend this thing.
