Great cordless trimmer! Would recommend to everyone.
I purchased a battery operated cordless trimmer not expecting to be wowed. I purchased the trimmer to trim edges and areas where the lawnmower was to big to fit. I have a small lawn front and backyard that would take me a few hours to cut due to all the equipment needed, trimmer, hedger, lawnmower, etc.... I enjoy the power and versatility of gas powered units so I was hesitant about purchasing a battery operated trimmer. However, after not having to lug the gas can, oil mixture, and the usual problems starting the gas trimmers. I saved time and money. The battery operated Craftsman trimmer is lightweight and incredibly easy to use. The battery life on low was strong enough to do all my edging and small areas. This is a great product and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a small to midsize lawn. You will greatly enjoy the convenience of not having to lug around gas containers, getting the mixtures just right or having to store half of the items necessary for the gas trimmer. Additionally the extra battery and quick charger make this an outstanding product. Lastly the automatic feed for the trimmer line works well too. Two thumbs up from me!

Very Useful
I've used the weed eater for three months now and I love it. It is not quite as powerful as my gas one but sure is much lighter and less fatiguing. I get approx 1 hour on a 4 amp battery. If you pull the trigger and never disengage it, I am sure it probably won't last that long. The trick is to use the power when you need it and disengage while walking to the next object. After doing a 2 acre cemetery I am no where as tired as I was with my gas model, and my ears feel a lot better too. I have used it to cut tall weeds in ditches but the battery runs down pretty quick. I have a complete set of 20V tools so I have plenty of spare batteries. I can't say enough good things about this weed eater. It's not a chain saw but for trim work it is excellent. Women will definitely love the lightness of it (my back does too!)

Works Great
I love it..been wacking for 25yrs with gas and getting older and tired of it. ethanol gas problems, noise, weight, this is my first electric and it works great,i am on an acre and out front i have double driveway and bout 40 yrs of walkway to trim and edge both sides, then i do the back of property, lots trees, shed fence and my Mrs garden ,so when i got this i ditched the 2 2ah batts and bought a 6ah at lowes. i was still afraid it would not be enough, out front i used high most of the time trimming and edging,on the back it was a mix of low and high speed since it was mostly trimming.after doing all that i still had 1 bar left on the bat..sometime ill skip some things in back if grass is not growing fast and do it every other cut but this time i just wanted to see if it would match my gas ..i would have used almost a half tank of gas doing all that ,so i was impressed with this trimmer, grass was not as high last cut and i had 2 bars left,,the feed worked perfect every time i bumped it it would feed,,i ordered another spool for the bottom in case this one wears out,i think it was 25 bucks..im sure there are better and worse out there but for me this did everything i needed it to do so im a happy camper.i also have other craftsman tools so the batt will come in handy on the angle grinder and the circular saw..o almost forgot,i also used for cleanup the craftsman shop blower.it looks like a toy and is expensive but this thing kicks butt , i blow the driveway ,walkway and patio outback with that using a 4ah bat,,this wont blow wet leaves in the fall but it cleared the drive and walkway of all the grass clippings and little dirt i kicked up,,so it makes a good combo to my edger and now i dont have to pull start that dam blower anymore either lol

Its a powerful trimmer with poor battery life.
The trimmer itself is good it has plenty of power the only thing i dont like is that it has thumb safety buttons instead of a tab like regular trimmers. The battery life is not very good for the 2ah batteries, one held up about 20 ish minutes and the other only about 15 minutes maybe less. I dont know if i got a bad battery or because of first charge or maybe 2ah is just not enough for the power output. All in all the trimmer is good but would be better if it had 4ah battery so that it doesnt die so fast. Will update rating if i get a better run on the batteries next charge cycle.*UPDATE*Upgraded to 4ah batteries and changed dramatically, the 2ah really fog the capability of this trimmer. Changed from 3 to 4 because of the performance improvement with the 4ah, this really isnt meant for the 2ah too much power drain for them.

Better than I thought
We bought another Craftsman battery powered weed eater for our house a little over a year ago. It got the job done well enough that we decided to buy another one for caring for our farm in another state. We bought an extra set of 4AH batteries so we could keep moving along. This one is so much stronger, but at the cost of shorter battery charge life. But the double string and quick winding is SO easy to use! WoW, glad we got this one. I wish it had the rotating head to edge with, but I’ll deal with it any day.I would definitely recommend this weed eater, but get an extra set of batteries.

Came with dead battery.
Battery wouldn't charge. Had to go to Lowe's to get one. Weed trimmer itself works great when equipped with good battery.

A needed yard trimmer
Concerns were will I be able to hold and use it long enough to finish my yard since I am 82 years old. I had no problem holding it for several years at a time. It took time to learn the differences and how to use it. I found using the high speed was best especially now in the Spring because our grass was so very, very long. I was able to rewind easily. I found that the line does get tight, too tight, therefore need to rewind line to loosen it up. Does a great job in ditches too. Think I would prefer a 40 V instead of a 20V for longer use time. Still learning but it is a joy to use.
