My favorite yarn.
This is my favorite yarn. It's soft and easy to work with. I crochet with it a lot. It's great for baby blankets, shawls, hats, larger blankets, etc. There are many beautiful colors that are great to mix and match.

Not bad, but not easiest for all patterns
I'm relatively new to crochet and bought this yarn for a blanket pattern that simply said worsted weight yarn. It never occurred to me that there isn't a standard thickness for that so it didn't work well with a J hook like the pattern specified. However, once I noted on the label that the yarn is best suited for an H hook, the pattern became much easier to do, although it required some alterations. One skein did come with a knot joining two ends together that was very poorly trimmed. When I trimmed it down, the knot came undone. I've used other yarn that had a knot in the skein and neither came out nor was poorly trimmed. If yours has one, just cut it and pick it up like a new color or create your own invisible knot. Keep in mind that some of my experiences could be explained by user error. Pluses to this yarn: * Center pull * Soft * No dye lot Minuses to this yarn: * Gets fuzzy easily * Was difficult to use with a larger gauge hook

Great for knitters, crocheters be cautious
Caron Simply Soft (CSS) in Dark Sage is a nice dark forest green. I paired it with Pistachio for a blanket, but it would work well beside just about any of the Caron colors I can think of. It is present in Simply Soft Paints in both the blue/green river colorway and the pink/green garden colorway. CSS is thinner than worsted but thicker than sport weight yarn. For knitting it is absolutely delightful, but for crochet it takes some finesse. The yarn has no elasticity at all, so I find that I have to use multiple hook sizes depending on the stitch I am making - sometimes two hooks in a single stitch - to maintain consistent tension appearance and avoid large holes at the tops of stitches. The direction of the twist is ideal for knitting, so the 4 strands frequently untwist as I am crocheting and I have to take care not to split them or accidentally catch my hook on just 1. It can get properly tangled, but it's easy to untangle because it has a very "slippy" kind of texture; a quality which requires that every stitch be worked through at least two loops to avoid the final fabric developing huge holes and tight knots at the top of your stitches, so I have adjusted my procedure for when a pattern calls for FLO or BLO. Your finished fabric will feel nice almost no matter what you do with it, but you will need to adjust your hook size if you are making stitches with largely varying sizes becausd you cannot adjust enough just by holding the yarn tighter (trust me on this one, save your hands the pain.) Overall I still really like CSS, and have none of these problems at all when knitting with it, but I just don't recommend it for absolute beginner crocheters. It can definitely be problematic to work with if you are not prepared to face the challenges it presents. 10/10 drape quality for this stuff though. Imitates silk blend yarns I have used pretty well.

This yarn is soft, beautiful and colorful. It delivers all of that for a reasonable price. It is machine wash and dry and comes out looking like new. If the garment is loosing its shape, wash and dry it. If the garment is a little too small (I.e. the kiddos have grown) just wash it and lay flat to dry and you will get some extra wear out of it. I have used this yarn over and over again for many years and many projects. My latest project is a hooded sweater for my grandson. He asked for a red sweater with snakes (I.e. the cables)🐸

Unfortunately only received 1 of the 3 balls, but was promptly given a refund. Beautiful colour and I love simply soft yarn. Disappointed I couldn’t get all 3. Will reorder when in stock again.
