About 95 squeezes per gallon...
Got it because the wife just bought a full tank of gas* .....her car started blowing smoke out the AC vents after 5 blocks. I tried the usual siphon tricks. No go. SO I bought this. Thanks to the anti siphon/anti turnover tank baffles, nothing works. I ended up removing the rear seat and carpet to access the tank directly... tank was so full I had to attach the siphon line to the canister return fitting and pump from there. I do mean pump- the squeeze bulb that is supposed to start the siphon action. About 95 squeezes per gallon. The can was below the tank, and the arrows were pointing the correct direction. All directions followed...* Moral of story: tell wifey to not use E85 gas ... ever.

Good and Bad - didn't work for me, but should for you
This is a tough review, as the product failed for me but is a good product. The siphon works very well, very easily and is made of good quality materials. The hose is excellent quality and very flexible. That's the issue I ran into. The hose is so flexible that I couldn't work it down into the tank. It just folds over on itself like trying to push a limp piece of spaghetti, it's not happening. My first use was on my daughter's car so I could work on the gas pump. I realize this is the power equipment model, and a car was a bit behind. It didn't work, try and try but I the hose just has no structure to work down to the tank. It ended up wrapped like a coiled snake at best. Never got near the gas. I wish it had more of that stuff tube on the end of the hose, that would've worked better. Ok, no car. Next I tried on our UTV, an old amphibious model from the 80's. Ran into similar issues, this tank has one turn in the gas fill to the tank. The stiff tube went down easily, but as soon as we got to the flexible hose it became nearly impossible to get it any further. Work it a little, push it with a rod, another half inch. Nope. Next was my tow-behind field mower, can stick my finger into the gas below the cap. Whoo hoo, this one was easy and this siphon finally got to work. It did work well, not overly quick, and it wouldn't flow even downhill without stopping - but it worked when the bulb was pumped. Not fast, but it was easy enough and worked well. If the hose was stiffer or had more of the stiff tube on its end, it would be a more versatile product. As is, it works alright for gas tanks with gas just below the cap or perfectly straight shots to the tank. That super flexible, wet spaghetti like hose just kills it for many tasks though. For power equipment, it has worked ok for me. So, there's good and bad with this product. I looked at the higher end model siphon from the same company but it looks like it has lots of the flexible hose again, likely having the same issue.

Great quality pump for smaller siphon jobs
I used this siphon over the weekend to drain my snowblower and generator, both which had a fair amount of gas in them left after the brutal New England winter. After completely draining both I've come up with some pros and consPROS* well built, quality construction* works well regardless of how much gas there is to pump. The "shaker" style siphons need a few inches of gas to get those siphons started* thoroughly drained - I drained so much gas I couldn't start either machine because the tanks were practically bone dry* fuel filter - a must for any siphon for gas. This filter is removable for water based liquids.* the source end is thin enough to fit into a gas tank neck of a car, many other siphons can't do thisCONS* not gravity fed, have to pump the bulb to move the gas. So if you have a fair amount of gas or fluid to transfer then you want one that is gravity fed like the GasTapper (TM) Gravity Model - Liquid Transfer Gasoline Siphon Pump 18' of Fuel Hose & Modern Car Adapter - Made in USA - See all 5 models by searching for "GENTAP" in Amazon search bar . There is also the Hopkins 10801 FloTool Shaker Siphon with 6' Anti-Static Tubing which has great reviews from people that siphon a ton of gas using it, but it has no fuel filter.SUMMARYIts a very well made pump, for the few times a year I need to siphon gas (at the end of winter and summer) this is perfect. I had no leaks, or drips - this is a well made product. If I was siphoning more gas I'd go with the gravity version of this pump I mentioned above.

Great product- works extremely well, nice build quality, very thoughtful design
I had to drain some bad gas out of my pressure washer and my generator. It worked perfectly. The little grasshopper clip is really versatile, and securely holds the end of the tube in a gas can or gas tank. It might be nice to have them at both ends, but the spring seems to do a good job of keeping the hose in place on the outflow end. The stiffer tube at the inflow end is a nice touch- it allowed me to precisely place the tip to get all the residual gas out of the gas tanks. I should mention that the product is for exactly what it says- small gas engines. You're not going to enjoy using it to siphon out a 20-gallon gas tank. One caveat is that if you have arthritic or weak hands, you may have difficulty squeezing the rather stiff bulb. That bulb is a lot of the reason why it works so well, though.

Just buy it, don’t wait months like me
I figured for what I paid I’d get some flimsy chinesium P.O.S. But honestly I’m delightfully surprised! This is a solid , well made/affordable hand siphon. I’m only reviewing this item because the paper that came with my package. I did not realize this was a USA based company out of Arizona, and they asked for feedback. I’m definitely buying a second one of these to cut down and use for specific things, and keeping this one as is. I wish I knew this wasn’t going to be a waste of money, considering it sat in my cart for months. I am what most would consider “ocd” but I think I just have a eye for detail, and quality. I only/mainly buy quality USA goods, especially tools. Giving this a deserving 5out of5.

small line will not reach into tank
I purchased this unit to ease my gas removal from an older truck project instead of crawling under truck and removing line etc. I was in hope that the small 1/4" line would enter the tank through the tight bend in filler neck where a standard hose will not go-no luck. Perhaps if I attach a longer section of the small 1/4" line it will work? It seems to enter, simply not long enough to go to proper area in tank for fuel removal.

If only the inlet tube was a bit longer
The Mrs wondered why the hell I'd bought this - until she returned home running on fumes last week. This was kind of the plan as we're selling the car but she wasn't meant to be that efficient. So, we needed to transfer fuel from my car which was on quarter of a tank but unfortunately the tube wasn't long enough to reach into the tank of my car to extract the fuel. After filling up, this durable looking piece of equipment will worked very well indeed - worth spending a few quid more on some longer tube for the future.
