Snap Circuits UC-30 Electronics Exploration Upgrade Kit | SC-100 to SC-300 | Upgrade Junior to Classic

My six year old son received the Jr kit for Christmas and had a ball with it. His birthday rolled around this month and I decided to get him this upgrade kit. I wasn't sure if he'd enjoy it even though he really liked the Jr kit. But boy was I wrong as soon as he opened it he was absolutely excited. He immediately went to work building and trying different things. He also had no idea expansion kits existed and now he wants more of them! I highly recommend for children even if they don't seem particularly interested in the subject i think that the way it is presented encourages creativity while learning. One thing to note. This kit comes with an AM transmitter some of the projects involve transmitting sound effects over AM frequency. If you have a small am/fm radio laying around pop some batteries in it and provide the child with it for said projects.

I had given my grandson the base kit for Christmas. It was so well received by all my grand kids, that I was tinkering with the idea to extend the base to the next level at his birthday.To get to the actual review, the kit is very nicely organized. There is a base plate the carries the individual components and secures them into place by "snap" The possibilities with the kit are captivating, considering the amount of electronics components. The grand kids are still experimenting with the set and hopefully learn something they can use in their future life.I will give these kits all thumbs up for robustness, ease of use and variety in circuits that can be built.

Perfect beginning set. Enough pieces and projects to keep interest up for adult and pre-schooler, but not too much to keep track of. Teaches patience, following directions, trial and error, free thought. With supervision, would highly recommend for 4+. Wish the grid markings on the board itself was easier to read. with opaque lettering. Both adults and child had hard time reading. We used label maker to make new numbers/letters.Packaging is nice for storage. Wish it had a magnet or velcro tab to help keep box closed should it get jostled in the wrong direction. We use a rubber band.Liked it enough to get the add-on pieces before we even needed them.

I bought the first "half" of this set last Christmas and my 5-6 year old grandson (and dad) simply LOVE it and find it very educational too. So, adding this step up to the full 300 Kit is a no brainer as they say it. It is well worth the money and like all of these kits say that they "offer 300" projects, but if you actually get 150 projects worth doing out of them you are still getting your money's worth out of them! These kids learn SO much from them, and it starts their minds going the right directions for a great future. Enjoy doing it all with them, makes for wonderful family interaction and fun together.

Without the Snap Circuit Jr. set, there isn't a lot you can build with these. However, once you get the Jr. set, it really does create a lot of wonderful things. My son builds something new almost every day. He really likes anything that has lights and noise, and if they go together, he's all for it. Once we did a couple of projects together, he got the hang of it and started building on his own. I even catch him trying to experiment with his own builds. He is quickly learning what a short circuit is. This is a great way to introduce kids to electronics and is just plain fun.The only thing I would like to see Snap Circuits do is give a bit more of an explanation as to what different parts do. What is a resistor, why use that specific size, and why it goes where it does.

we like the extension, I still consider the product a bit pricy but it is the only one of its kind with large parts for small fingers, easy instructions, so our 8 yr old will have lots to play with for future combinations as we try another 200 (from 100 to 300 projects). Some of them fell like they are just a bit changed from before, but it will take you considerable time to do them all anyway. Easier on the budget if you don't want to buy the big set at once or just want to test out if the child likes to play with the first set, then it is a 'natural' second buy.

Bought this (along with the basic kit) for my five-year old nephew for Christmas. The game said it is for kids age 8 and up, so I thought it was something his mom and dad could play with him. Boy was I wrong. Within minutes of opening the box he had all the pieces out and was building his first design. The instruction manual is laid out exceptionally well and easy to follow, so he had no difficulty putting together multiple projects before the end of the day. The look on his face when he had completed a project and turned an alarm off or made a fan spin was simply priceless. It is great to see kids learning and building things instead of sitting in front of a screen mesmerized for hours on end.If you want to see your kid tap into his or her creativity and have loads of fun in the process, Snap Circuits is the way to go.

This upgrade kit makes a great product even better! This fun kit teaches about circuits and how stuff works and has simple, well-illustrated directions, so even beginning readers can work on projects alone. My 6yo uses his Snap Circuits at least an hour a day. The parts are well-designed and sturdy. The upgrade kits make it easy to increase the project difficulty once your child is ready for more (and by buying the upgrade kits, you can give them something new to look forward to).Recommended for kids 5+

My 6 ur old niece and me both enjoyed the base kit enormously.. So got the extension..amazing fun and really good learning for kids and helps inculcate scientific curiosity and experimentation. Quality product with ease of use and durability in mind. Can't recommend enough for today's kids

My 9 year old got the smaller set of this for Christmas and was SO happy to get the upgrade set for his birthday! He spends HOURS creating the circuits in the book and making his own circuits as well. Really good quality and lots of learning enjoyment!

Product components well constructed. Manual can be easily read and understood by a kid. Good educational present.

Bought the upgrade kit to go from SC100 to SC300. Absolute joy to have and a great tool for kids and adults alike to learn electronics. We are certainly hooked.

Arrive on time, perfect condition. My kid loves these more than Lego! Plenty of fun for anyone - my son and my father played together for hours, until bedtime. Didn't hear a peep out of them all evening.
