I would recommend using a warm compress towel to help open up your pores before using. that's how I was able to get the best results and helps you get the blackheads out easier. I saw in the packaging it also came with extra filters so it should last a long time and I can replace the filters pretty easy on the machine.I used it on one of the middle settings and you don't want to leave it on one spot too long. If at first they don't come out try the following day and it should come out super easy. I really love that this comes also with the extra tools to help get out tough blackheads. And as a bigger girl sometimes sweating a lot can cause big issues with blocking pores so this helps me keep my face and black head areas clear. also I use a cold wet towel when i'm done to close up the pores to avoid more oils getting in again. It's one of those things where I thought that it had to be too good to be true. I'm not saying this is a miracle worker, but I do think this does help you maintain clearer skin overall.I know there are different tip heads, but at this point I'm still using the one, so I can't tell you what they all do.Basically, you turn it on and swipe it across your face in small sections. Definitely look on YouTube to watch one of the multiple videos showing how to use these.It really does have pretty strong suction power. I would also caution you against using it if you have a breakout.
