Definately would buy again
A shortened version of my review: The espresso from Rosso is excellent, even when paired against the Nespresso counterparts. Considering the descriptions of each flavor on their website, they are what you would expect. The Maestro, Intelligente, and Gentlemen (the stronger ones) are my favorite day to day espressos. The delicato is great to have for the middle of the day when you don't want too strong of a shot, but still want the aroma/taste/or a bit of energy (I have one before I head to the gym). The purismo is pretty good in lungo, which I did not expect. The intellegente is a little to acidic by itself for my tastes, but perhaps you may like that? All of them are pretty good bases for a cappuccino/latte/americano (espessically the gentlemen). The ones that specify they are also good as longos surprisingly are good, but usually better as espresso if you are not used to the more watery lungo. Finally, the crema is excellent and thick on all of them. Some do have more than others, and the ones with robusta have hints of red. Usability- The pods work well in my essenza, some of them take a longer pull than the regular nespresso pods. What I will say is that two of the pod colors look exactly the same under certain lighting, so make sure you organize them to know which is which (to be fair to the company: This may be because I'm color blind). The pods are made of plastic as opposed to the Nespresso aluminum, which is good because the needles of your machine are less likely to break from these plastic pods than other nespresso compatibles that use thick aluminum. What I want to speculate about their pod system is that I'm not sure how "fresh" the coffee lasts inside them when compared to the Nespresso pods. I say this because the foil used to wrap them appears pretty weak and break/dent with little force. Likewise, you can smell the coffees right away, meaning some air might be getting in. But then again, this still might not affect the freshness of the coffee. The shots take a longer pull than most Nespresso capsules, likely due to it having more coffee on it. My mini reviews for each flavor: Gentleman- -Strong and fruity, similar to the Ristretto pod -You can tell it has robusta from the subtle redness of the crema -Great for latte' and caps -I think it's just a tad bit stronger than Nespresso's Ristretto capsules Maestro- -Not much of a cocoa taste for me, but nutty -Very dark, creamy and great crema -Great with latte's and caps -The pod lasts well if you use it as a double shot as well Intellegente- -Mild, tastes very acidic -Good as lungo, but a little too acidic for my tastes as an espresso -Good as an Americano too Aside: what I liked about these darker ones was that they weren't just "dark" and "bitter" as other compatibles I've tried. They had other flavors and aromas that made it more enjoyable by itself such as nutty, fruity, creamy, ect Purismo- -Rich and dark -A little sweet -Accidic tasting -Great as a lungo, still has that bold flavor Rico- -It's sour and smooth, delicate -This one is the most expensive at 99 cents a pod (on their website), but when comparing to the others I don't think it warrants the price - The best way to describe this one is that it feels smooth and great in the mouth - Creamy feeling Delicato- -Fruity and soothing -It's great by itself for relaxing or when you don't want the typical espresso boom -Good as an Americano too Would I buy these again? Definitely, because I find them just as good as the nespresso capsules and cheaper. I also haven't really liked any of the lower intensity capsules from nespresso, but I really liked the delicato from Rosso. I'd most likely order the top three darker ones and the delicato just because those were may favorites. UPDATE: I added a video to prove that the pictures are of the actual product as someone commented that I made a fake review. See for yourselves

Delicious
I recently purchased a Nespresso machine and was worried about the high cost of the capsules. Luckily, after reading several reviews I decided to give this Rosso Caffe variety pack a try, and I am very very impressed. I bought my Nespresso machine to make my morning cappuccino, and I cannot tell the difference between the Nespresso capsules and the Rosso Caffe capsules by the time I add my frothy hot milk. They seem to work identically to the Nespresso capsules in my machine, and the creama is great, as well. I have been pleased with every flavor I have tried from this pack. There are no bad flavors. They have all been delicious. I thought I might find a favorite and want to re-order 50 or 100 of those. But so far, I am really enjoying the variety. One day I'll have one flavor, and the next day (or sometimes the next cup), I will try something different. It's been a nice change from buying the K-cup French Roast 100-pack from Costco. I guess I didn't even realize what a coffee rut I was in. Then, I bumped up to making espresso in a stove-top Biagletti and ordering 4-packs of Lavazza espresso in bulk from Amazon. So now that I have found this good quality, 6-flavor variety pack from Rosso Caffe, I feel like it is adding some much-needed variety and excitement to my morning coffee ritual. Also, I had never been a straight espresso drinker prior to buying these capsules. But one day when I was in a rush, I decided to try the Ricco capsule as an espresso, since I didn't have enough time to deal with heating and frothing the milk. It was outstanding. I had chosen the Ricco because it was a really smooth with an excellent crema. After that, I decided to try a couple of different flavors from the variety pack as espressos -- and they have all been delicious. So now --- my coffee drinking has evolved even more. I have even bought myself a little set of espresso cups. Sometimes I will wake up and want my traditional morning cappuccino. But other times, I am in the mood for an espresso. The better price (compared to Nespresso) has allowed me to have my typical 3 cups of Joe every morning without breaking the bank. Plus, the added variety and new possibilities make my morning brew much more of an adventure. What shall we have today? So, these capsules work great for me, and I will definitely be ordering from Rosso Caffe again. Probably the same variety pack, although they do have some other flavors I am curious about trying as well. Excellent product and excellent price. I am very very pleased with the quality of their coffee and they work identically to the higher-priced Nespresso capsules.

Let me Espresso my love for Rosso Caffe~
I am loving Rosso Caffe!!! I love the fact that they are just the right amount of capsules to try out! Not only is it a smart alternative to the more high-end, expensive brands...but they actually taste really good for being that alternative! Many Alts lack either taste or quality but I am here to justify the claim that Rosso Caffe is such an amazing brand with such an amazing product AND for such an amazing price!!! I am going to be so bold to admit that Rosso Caffe is probably my personal favorite among many other Alts out here. You save so much money AND you get a variety in taste, what is there NOT to love? They have such a collection for you to select from; Light Roasts like Decaffeinato, Medium Roasts like Carmello and the more intense Dark Roasts like Maestro. But that only skims the surface of their selections but you get the idea! There truly is something here for everyone! Each box contains 2 packs of 5 pods. The pods are color-coded to go with their name, so you can be sure to know which pod is what. So if you are not much of a morning person, you don't have to fumble around trying to find your perfect pod..all you have to do is recall the color and you'll remember! Also, every pack makes clear whether or not it is suitable for various types of drinks; Ristretto, Espresso, Lungo. So if you like the hard stuff or if you're like me (who likes a bit of cream in your coffee), everyone should be equally happy! The pods are perfectly designed. From the foil top to the plastic bottom, they look so gourmet that it's ridiculously amazing! They do, however, have a "best by" date. Meaning: They are probably not going to last very long. So, it's good to drink as soon as you get them. Also, They are a product of Israel but with a US distribution based out of Florida. I have taste tested each pod I received and the verdict is out: I love Ricco! The rich and creamy taste combined with a tinge of something bittersweet. I adore it so much! It's full of intense flavor that it had me begging for more. For the sake of not keeping you too long, I will list the taste of the rest of the pods as limited as possible: -Gentleman: Strong and fruity. Reminds me of the Ristretto pod. Has a slight redness to the crema, which tells me it has some robusta. Though strong and intense, I find it's mellow compared to Ristretto! -Maestro: Not much with the Cocoa taste, but I do taste the Hazelnut! Very rich and creamy, with an amazing crema. -Intellegente: A mild taste with a bit of an acidic aftertaste. As an espresso, it's too acidic but as a lungo, it's perfect! -Purismo: Rich and dark acidic aftertaste Has a bit of a sweet, smooth taste -Delicato: Fruity is the only way to describe this. Great for just a relaxing drink, rather than a morning "pick me up" It's very soothing and smooth. In conclusion, I love these smooth tasting pods! I have never been judgemental when it came to coffee shots (or coffee in general) but these are too good not to feel something special about them. Would I buy these on my own? You better believe it! I recommend Rosso Caffe to everyone who loves a smooth cheap alt!!! These are amazing! 5/5 -The following rating comes from: 1 star- Packaging. (Is the item packaged well?) 1 star- Quality & Materials. (Is the item made well?) 1 star- Functions & Usability. (Does the item work well?) 1 star- Construction & Design. (Does the item look good?) 1 star- Quality Strength & Weight. (Does the item feel good?) -How I review: Based on those 5 mentions above, I take everything into consideration before posting a final review. Also, I use mere common sense when it comes to rating. Is the product worth this amount of stars? Is it not? What would I improve? Is the negative I dislike, if any at all, something that is an error in construction & design or is it something the company couldn't possibly control? And, if all else fails, can I do something to alternate or change the ability of this negative? All this and more is considered before I post. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon, so I decided to take the liberty to post reviews on items I think deserve it. Because I want people who are genuinely interested to know more about the product before they commit. These are my own opinions, I am doing this review merely for the sake of reviewing and expressing my freedom to review. Thank you!

Nice packaging but so-so coffee taste
UPDATE: 6/6/2016 I received free samples of two of their newest flavors Cioccolata and Diamante. Customer Service had let me know that they had improved the flavor and functionalty of the pods and coffee. I would agree in that I see a big difference in the amount of time the coffee completes it's drip cycle, the stream as it brews, and the amount of crema as well. Basically in making expresso (Lungo), I did not notice a difference between this brand and the Nespresso brand. As to the flavor, the Cioccolata, which is designed to have a chocolate flavor, it was good and taste was as expected. However, the Diamante brand even though the experience of making the cup of coffee mirrored the Nespresso brand, I still did not like the flavor. But, that is a personal preference and I would not venture to say that all flavors would be bad, you would have to discover that yourself. To me the biggest plus is that the experience of making the cup of Joe is the same as the Nespresso brand pods. Well done Rosso. UPDATE: 4/2016. Today I was offered a full refund by Rosso Caffe, which I accepted. Hence the upgrade to 3 stars. For customer service, I would rate this at 5 stars, however, I will rate them higher once the taste is improved to be likeable. To that end, I was informed that 3 new tastes are being developed and was offered free samples once they are ready. I will update my review if there is improvement. I am not a picky coffee drinker, but at least on a level that I purchased the Nespresso coffee maker abandoning the Keurig system for better taste. That having been said, I don't care for the higher price of the Nespresso pods ($.70/pod) and wanted to find cheaper alternatives. I've tried several with pods from Rosso Caffe being the latest. I'm disappointed. I have no affiliation with Nespresso or any brand and am just an average guy who wants to put my experience out there. It's a shame to buy 50 pods of a brand you haven't tried and be disappointed and often have wasted your money. Pros - Packaging is great, looks nice but then does it really matter? - Pods are colored and not plain looking (can you tell I'm reaching for something positive?) - Pods are sealed in an air tight cellophane package, 5 to a package Cons - There is no labeling on the Pods as to the name of the coffee blend and you have to refer back to the packaging matching the color of the pod to the box, then read up on the blend and if it is designed for an Expresso, Lungo, etc. After opening a package of 5 pods, I put them in a air sealed glass jar, thereby mixing the different pod blends together. It would really help knowing what the name of the blend is by reading the top of the pod. I can't throw away the boxes until I've used up all the coffee. I'm sure that once I've been drinking this brand for a month or so and picked my favorites I won't need the boxes and will have it memorized. NOT! I shouldn't have to do this as a new customer. - Inconsistent drip flow when brewing coffee. I would estimate 3-4 out of 5 pods drips very slowly, sometimes not flowing but just dripping so slow I can count the drips. This is the same experience I've had with other non-Nespresso brand pods. I was hoping this one would be different. I'm beginning to believe that being packaged in a plastic cup rather than a metal cup (top seal material may or may not matter) makes a difference. So far only the Nespresso brand cups are metal. - Taste is either weak or has that burnt or over cooked taste. The best way I can describe it is to describe the Nespresso brand tastes rich while this brand tastes dull will not much of a sharp taste. It's hard to describe but there is a definate difference so far between Nespresso and Nespresso compatible brands. The company included a $10 coupon off the next order, but I won't be reordering even with a $10 credit. I guess that tells the story.

WOW! Great Espresso! Stop reading the bad reviews...you cannot go wrong!
First off, no I am not writing this after receiving this product for free or highly discounted. I have tried my fair share of alternative Nespresso pods - the usual result being "Yeah, they are fine but nothing like the Nespresso ones". Well, this coffee is not only just as good, some of the flavors I actually like BETTER than the Nespresso ones. Yes, they are better! Want a strong, flavorful, yet NOT bitter espresso?! Try some of these - black without any sugar, milk etc. These are still not bitter. I made one of the delicato lungo pods and my wafe stated how rich and dark the coffee looked. She was correct, and even better - this coffee is so smooth it was amazing. I am currently on the Whole 30 diet and have started drinking my coffee and espresso black. It was tough especially with some espresso brands, however, I now look forward to drinking my espresso in the morning - black. Here is the only thing that still sets the original Nespresso pods a tad apart from these - the density of the crema. Yes, the crema on the original pods is more dense and stays around longer while sipping your drink. However, considering the cost savings and the fact that the espresso itself is delicious, I feel it is a small price to pay and nothing to steer me away from buying these. I will recommend these to family and friends. Every flavor in this pack of 2 light roasts, 2 medium roasts, and 2 dark roasts has been great. I look forward to maybe trying some of their premium blends, and maybe some of their flavored blends as well. Nice bonus: I received a $10 off my next order coupon along with my order when I received it. Verdict - You might be like me and read reviews non-stop to make the best/most informed decision you can. Stop! Just give these a try, 99% of you will most definitely enjoy these a lot! The 1% - well there are always those 1% kind of people.

Extremely Disappointed!
Extremely Disappointed that 4.1k-4star reviews were SO Wrong. I read my usual review process before purchasing these pods (Most Recent, 1 stars, 3 stars and 5 stars) and bought these thinking 50 cents per is better than 70 cents per as well as some saying how good the crema was and flavor, but did have some concerns about the plastic capsules and leaking issues but how could I go wrong to give them a try. There were two boxes crushed in the tightly packed box, nothing broken open like others had said. Ok lets give them a try. I bought the "Gourmet Espresso Pods Extra Dark Roast Pack" because I prefer a rich dark roast (Not French, East African if I can get it) and sometimes mix a more robust (10-12) with an (8-9) to get a smooth double to have with my biscotti a few times a week. I tried a single Gentleman first...I could smell an acrid nastiness as it was pouring. Crema was ok but nothing to write home about, but as I put it up to my nose to have a sip the acrid smell of a bad roast and poor pressure during the brew warned me that this wasn't going to be good. It was absolutely the worst bilge water I ever had, even camp coffee or Navy coffee I've had back in the day, was better than this! The crema didn't help at all and went flat very quickly. OK maybe a bad pod. A while later after drinking some juice to get the taste out of my mouth I tried a double with a "Gentleman" and a "Maestro" thinking the maestro would mellow whatever was in the gentleman pod. Wrong, it was even worse almost a metallic tinny flavor, thinner bilge water with the same acrid smell. Late that afternoon I decided to try a single "Macho" just to give it a go. Whelp, it was better than the earlier disasters but not by much, still the acrid smell, but did have a bit more body and the crema lasted a bit longer. Still nothing to compare with the Nespresso "Roma & Volluto" pods I get...not even in the same galaxy. Best I have achieved with these is a Gentleman first with a Macho over it drowning a biscotti in it. A step up from bilge to stump water. I received this order on Nov. 15th and today is the 18th, 3 days of hell and disappointment, the question is what to do with these remaining pods. Do I break them open and use the contents for the plants, send them to land fill because they only partially recycle according to one review I read. Do I give the balance back to Amazon or bite the $30 bullet? Not sure I would give these to our plants let a lone serve any friends these pods...It's a Real Dilemma and Huge Disappointment. FYI, I've been drinking espresso since the mid 70's (original Hand Pull machine), and stopped drinking regular coffee around 2000. I've had $1k espresso machines and $60 machines over the years and this little Nespresso Essenza machine is an nice compromise between price and reliability and repeatedly decent espresso/crema with quality roasted pods from Nespresso, just wish I could get quality roasted AA Kenya pods for it instead of mainly South American bean blends. Not a coffee snob, ardent aficionado, I just enjoy a proper espresso that fits a rich flavorful profile with a good crema! And I've tried and learned a lot over the years. This is the lowest ever IMHO. I'm now ordering some more of the Nespresso pods I enjoy....Life is to long to drink bilge water.

Nespresso Compatible Capsules by Rosso Caffe
Nespresso Compatible Capsules by Rosso Caffe (ASIN B00TW72M94; UPC 830564001072). This product is cost effective ($0.45/pod) and compatible with a Nespresso Inissia (perhaps other Nespresso machines, but I cannot verify). The product does brew coffee and is edible. This, in my opinion, is the extent of the positives for this product. The taste of the Rosso Caffe capsules, compared to a Nespresso (brand) capsule, is substantial. Though the Rosso Caffe is advertised as "premium quality", in my opinion, tastes of poor quality. The Rosso Caffe coffee tastes watered down in both Espresso and Lungo formats. If I assumed that the watered down taste was intentional, I would also assume that the coffee-grinds within the capsules taste expired or stale. I do not recommend this product to anyone who is seeking a taste comparable to a Nespresso brand capsule. I do recommend this product to anyone who is not concerned with taste, but instead is seeking a compatible alternative at a much lower price point. Update 2018-02-14: Following this review, I was contacted by the seller. The seller displayed good customer service by offering a refund and samples of other flavors not included in this variety pack. Though my opinion of the product in terms of taste remains unchanged, I have increased the review from 2 stars to 3 because of the customer service and the seller's commitment to his/her product. Though many may disagree with my decision to award an additional star for these reasons, I feel that it is important to recognize good customer service when it is due. In short, good on Rosso Caffe for trying their best.
