What size is the neoprene mat please?

It is 600mm square or 2 feet in old money. Different sets come with different mats. Believe these can be bought separately from the sets.

Can anyone tell me how tall the terrain is at the highest point please? (Seeing whether I could leave it out with a cover over it).

The wall pieces are 55mm high. Add on 2 mm for the neoprene mat, plus a few more for the clips at the base of the walls and any girders etc at the top. So about 65mm total

Are the miniatures on scale with 40k/heroic scale minis?

No, I find the Core Space miniatures to be slightly smaller true scale miniatures
