Fun , yet educational.
Such a fun ,colorful and educational toy.Our daughters love " cutting"up the fruit .I have never seen play fruit so cute and fun. The "knife" slices the fruit and the kids put the fruit back together. The fruit stays together by magnets. It comes in a shopping bag, which the kids love too.Easy way to teach fractions ,as well.

Cool cutting fruit set.
So this fruit cutting set is pretty fun. It's made of plastic and they're are close to life-sized. The fruits connect with magnets that are embedded in the plastic. The apple can be cut into four pieces, the pear into thirds, and the orange in half. It comes with a round plastic knife and none of the pieces pose a choking hazard as they are quite large. While the fruit are easy to "cut", the magnets are not incredibly strong making the fruit pieces disconnect when handled quickly. The apple and pear have stronger connections, and the orange is the worst offender seeing that the magnets have to be aligned well for it to stick together. This issue isn't bad enough for me to rate it poorly though because my daughter still loves playing with this cutting fruit set and it's the only one safe for kids under 3.

Not impressed
Not that cool. Magnets don’t work to keep the fruits pieces together and the fruit falls apart before the kiddos can cut it.

Durable but magnets? They don't stay cut! My son doesn't cut properly now...
I feel like I need to give a voice to the other side of this toy. My son and myself do like this toy. We have had it since he was 18months or so and he still plays with it (sometimes) at 24 months. Magnets are cool cos they don't wear out unlike Velcro. However, they 1) do not have the satisfying cutting sound and feeling when u try to cut , and 2) it sticks back again if u cut straight down. Hence, my son has taken to just flinging it apart. Now, even with the Velcro Melissa and doug cutting toys, he just rips it apart with his hands - cos he is not used to 'cutting' it properly. It might just be him, but I don't think the magnets teach proper cutting. Even when I cut it myself they open for 2 seconds and reattach bAck due to the strong magnets.I had strong expectations due to the good reviews and I just wanted people to hear another side of the story.

great product
The product is well made and 15 month old twins love playing with it. this toy will grow with the children. Right now they love putting the pieces together and taking them in and out of the bag. The bag is a very nice storage feature. I would highly recommend this toy-lots of play value. We are very careful about selecting toys for play value and quality.

Very cute toy
My 1.5 yr old daughter loves to cook, and we got this to go with her new toy kitchen. She loves having her own knife and cutting the fruit (over and over and over). I would give 5 stars, but the orange does not stay together as well as the apple and pear. All are magnetically held together.

good toy for a two year old
I gave this as a second birthday gift to a boy. It was a hit -- he loves cutting it up and putting it back together is fun. He sometimes needs help reassembling the fruits.Note that the orange is the most difficult to reassemble (it has the fewest number of magnets, and has to be lined up the most precisely) so you might consider holding it aside if your child struggles with it and gets frustrated.

Cute
My 3 year old daughter likes to play with these. Very good quality, simple toy that helps kids use their imagination. I like that the orange cuts into two, the pear into three, and the apple into four.
