good book to get a summary and some detail on industry practices. I like it & am glad to have waited for the new edition before spending my money.

They need to change the photos
They really should update the photos and use colored ones. I have the old edition of this book and went to my school book store to buy the new edition, but to my disappointment, I noticed that it was still in black and white.

Don't waste your money.
This book has many many errors. Let alone the falsely described theory of square surface areas on page 205. On top of that the review questions are impossible to find and when the questions ask you to explain something, the book only tells you something occurs and not why so you can't answer the "why" part of the question

Lots of good info for a carpenter wanting to know more.

Lots of good information, worth the purchase. Photos need to be updated to modern day construction (and color)

I suppose the information/content is still mostly relevant in 2023 although many building conventions have changed. The quality of the photographs are terrible. Also, the photos reveal how outdated this book now is. I’m a bit disappointed considering how expensive this used book was.
