Spider-Man: Spider-Island Companion Paperback – January 1, 2012

Spider Island was a huge event for Spiderman and supporting family. It also rebuilt the Spiderfamily. This trade collects a number of miniseries that were connected as well as a few issues of solo heroes' comics like Hercules and Black Panther. Spider-Girl, Shang Chi and Cloak and Dagger all get minis, while others show up in shorts. All together it's a great companion to the story, and Spider Girl and SHang Chi's stories alone are worth it. They both set themselves up to have stornger ties to both Spiderman and the heroic community. If you have or read Spider Island you really should get this!

Wish the tie-ins we're better because the main storyline was great but It was still worth a read if you're a fan of the spider-island story arc

What is the differnece in this and the original

This TPB is not worth buying, in my opinion. I bought the companion looking for a lot of good complementary stories to the Spider Island arc of stories, which it did minimally. There are many issues, mainly of Cloak and Dagger that are chalked full of dull and dry personal stories with no talk of what is going on with the spiders. The Master of Kung-Fu issues and Spider-Girl issues are the best, which are just ok and the rest is dribble. You gain nothing additional that is important to the Spider Island story line.

Grand fan de Spider-Man et collectionneur de tous les "ties-in" (histoires dérivées/complémentaires d'un "event"), j'ai voulu compléter ma lecture de "  Spider-Island  " (confu au début mais magistral au global, un "must-have" de Spidey et de l'année!).Déception : les histoires utilisent la spécificité de l'event (tout le monde a les pouvoirs de Spider-Man) en se focalisant sur des héros et vilains se balandant dans NYC au moment des faits. Au final c'est assez capilotracté et beaucoup de scénar ont du mal à se tenir quand aux motivations des personnages et situations dans lesquelles ils se trouvent. Dommage ils auraient pu aller loin, être créatif sur la base imposée.Les 2 épisodes de Spider-Woman sont sympa néanmoins, à et les épisodes de Cloak & DAgger sont majestueux, magnifiques et touchants : ils valent à eux seul l'achat du bouquin mais ont pourrait se les procurer en "issues" originales si pas via un investissement sur ce livre (quoique le hardcover/relié propose un format plus grand qui permettra d'apprécier le crayon magique d'Emma Rios).Bref, bonnes lectures mais très décevantes par rapport au niveau de la "core" série  Spider-Island . Its a decent book. The actual Spider Island story is much better. if you need to read everything go for it!
