Kaufhof AJT-1255 Sliding Gauge Brass Vernier Caliper 0-4 Inch

Good quality brass for the money, clear markings, smooth sliding. Handy pocket size. Vernier only on metric scale. Does not read inside measures directly, you have to add the caliper thickness. I was looking for a brass accessory for steam-era costuming that would evoke engineering without weighing a lot, and this fills the role admirably. It is useful (I obtained needed measurements) and operates well within its limitations. I haven't tested the vernier, but it only applies to the metric side, there is no vernier for the imperial side. Good quality quick measure, not a precision instrument. 4" is small, "cute", but fills my needs.

Ok product, the numbers cannot be seen well. The numbers should have been inked. I bought this for being metric too. For inside measurment using the outer lip can measure the discrepency and mark it on the caliper. In my case it measures from 5mm to the limit. It also has the 1/10 decimal marking. The nylon case had a dirty store sticker could not be removed and ruined the case. They should have put it in a nylon bag then labled it.

The one major bad thing is that although it's made to read inner and outer measurements, there is no line for the inner measurement reading. Perhaps I'll try to scratch a line in so I can use it for id measurements.On the positive side. Markings appear to be clear and easy to read. It seems to slide easily enough without being notchy. It doesn't have a sticker with the numbers and lines on it.

Does just what I wanted. It provides a pocket-sized tool to transfer measurements for woodworking projects. The scale is somewhat hard to read and, of course, isn't highly accurate so I would not use this to seek accurate measurements (a dial caliper is the tool to use for that). It's a nice handy size. It slides easily and smoothly, but not too easily. Handy tool.

I love these little gauges. The great part is the weight. It fits right in your shirt pocket. It is as accurate as I need it to be. It will measure inner surfaces just add 5 mm or 3/8 (width of the teeth) to the gauge measurement.It is well made, the fit is good however the finish is a bit rough. These things polish up like a jewel if you have the know how to bring up a surface from a rather rough milled surface.

Nice tool and perfect for smaller projects. The fit and finish are a little rough, but for the money, a few minutes with some fine sandpaper will fine tune it to perfection. The cost is definitely reasonable for what you get.

Not nice enough for the price. Hard to read. Questionable finish. I'll keep looking. Not good, not terrible. Not for me.

This little caliper is excellent for my purpose ... measuring the size of knitting needles in mm. The gauge is easy to read and very accurate for small measurements. I do not know how I got along without one of these calipers for all these years!
