GA5020 5" SJS Angle Grinder, with AC/DC Switch, Blue

My God I upgraded from an old Makita four and a half inch angle grinder that I bought on Amazon about 9 years ago. Considering that I use an angle grinder pretty much every single day I'm not sure why it took me this long to upgrade. Rat tail... You'll either love it or you'll hate it. Myself, I absolutely love it. Of course there's going to be times where you need to get in tight somewhere and maybe the 4-inch or 4 and 1/2 in paddle style is going to be a necessity. In my case 90% of the time if I'm cutting metal or cleaning up welds the extra size on this grinder does not affect anything. I had no idea what I was missing. I have always been loyal to Makita, like I said my old one was still good as the day I bought it with daily use for over 9 years. I just wanted to upgrade and try something new. The brake is probably the most amazing thing since sliced cheese. I had no idea what I was missing. The power, the cut speed, the low vibration, the noise, everything is an improved version of my baseline 4.5" model. Cannot recommend this enough. If you're on the fence pull the trigger

This equipment is akin to a Roll's Royce of grinders. I have another one, a 4 1/2" Metabo HPT and this thing blows that out of the water by far, granted this is 3 times the price. The braking system is the highlight for me due to the short amount of time it takes for the disc to completely stop, the quick adjustable guard is amazing, which also means you won't throw away the guard, the soft-start means your beginner buddy won't be intimidated by the initial kick of the grinder and makes it safer if you forget to let the RPMs reach max before putting on work coupled with the SJS system, and the ergonomics is my favorite. I am big fan of the deadman's switch trigger, rather than the paddle-style or press-and-slide of the Metabo. Although this one doesn't have a safety lock, if you're not worried about OSHA, this is one sweet grinder. 11K RPM means you'll be able to get a lot of 5" and 4 1/2" discs on this pretty easily. All in all, this is a pretty sweet grinder and its power means you can throw most fabrication jobs at it and it'll chew it up rather quickly.

Poor quality, only lasted a couple of months. I bought the cover from Assurion and they haven't responded to me.

Buy once, cry once. This is coming from someone with limited funds who often does buy and love Wen, Harbor Freight, or China direct. But at this price this is indeed a DEAL. This model lacks the OSHA compliant thumb press trigger lock mech so if you intend to use this in industry go for the model that costs $7 more but for hobbyists this is the way to go. Just be careful putting it down but the trigger has a very satisfying and heavy snap action, so “self-actuation” would fall under the category of user error in my opinion. The trigger itself is a good name brand button everything on the inside of this thing is extremely well made and tough as nails. After months of use there’s been very little ingress of dirt into the head assembly or casement anddd ummm yeah just buy it. It’s one of those tools that makes you say things like “say hello to my little friend” and “That? That’s not a knife... THIS IS A KNOIFE”

The grinders are AC/DC which work perfect on my welding truck out fitted with a SA200 the has a DC power source. So far all is working perfectly.

Love the price was reasonable shipped fast needed ASAP.

C'est un bon produit, la découpe du métal s'est fait en un clin d'oeil. Le produit est lourd donc pas besoin d'y appliquer de la pression. Choisir le bon produit pour le travail à faire c'est ce que nous avons fait et on est pleinement content.
