EASY to install and a $19, a great deal.
I feel the need to chime in here because of a couple of reviews that stated these were hard to install. It is true that it was easier for me to remove the bolt entirely to get the clamp on the bars, but there are only four pieces: the break lever assembly, the bar clamp, the mounting bolt and the barrel nut, so it really only takes about one minute per side to install these. They look great, they are cheap, they work great on my townie bars. Overall: a great deal.

Good brakes, clamp doesn’t open so install before tape
These seem like good brake levers, though I wasn’t able to use them as I wanted to. I had mistakening applied shellac to my handlebar tape before thinking about the brakes for my first fixie conversion. Bought these because I thought they would be like other drop handlebar brakes I have, where the clamp is a U shape and able to open to attach without undoing the wrap. However, these clamps are a closed circle and my handlebars, with their tap shellached on, didn’t have enough clearance. Not the brakes’ fault, I just wish the photos showed what the actual clamped looked like. I like to fix up bikes as a hobby, so I will keep these for a future build as they seem like they would be pretty good. If you are using regular non-shellac tape (or put them on before wrapping) these should work well for you.

They function well and look good doing it.
This is the best option i've found for converting a drop bar bike to upright 'town style' handlebars. The levers are cheap, functional and they look great. They're a tight fit over VO Left Bank bars, you have to loosen them to the last thread to get them on but they clamp down with plenty of thread.

Sloppy
These were one of two products like this so I thought I would give these a try. The biggest objection I have is that the cable bushing that seats into the grip body fits very loosely. I had to squeeze the body of the grips in order to reduce the diameter of the hole that the bushing sets into. Then I applied some special application glue to hold the bushing in place so it does not slip outward. Machined threads should have been used to hold the bushing in place. The pull of my brakes would have to be like 50 pounds to make this work as intended and there would still be rapid wear from such a loose fit on aluminum parts. The ferrule on my brake cable sheath does not nest down into the bushing securely either and wiggles around a little bit laterally. The recess should have been made deeper. The clamp screw is not quite long enough. The clamp mechanism was held together by perhaps one thread before I could slide these brake handles onto the handlebars. That was after I had straightened out the kinks on the the clamp to make them as round as possible. I had to do some hacking to make these things perform the way a quality product would have straight out of the package which did not please me. I have a hunch that these will need to be replaced in a few months. Time will tell. The Tektro FL750s on my other bike did not have any of these issues and have performed well for several years.

Good value
Not as good as Dia Compe, but much cheaper.

Great retro levers
I love the look and feel of these levers. These are low profile levers so you don't have to stretch your hands out too far from the handle bar. I have them on my single speed and they work nicely. My one gripe with these levers is that the hardware (specifically the allen bolt) is a tad short. If it was just 2mm longer it would have been way easier to mount these levers. Not a big problem; I got them on, it just took more time.

missing parts
these were new in the bag but missing key hardware in order to hook up to brake cables. Disappointing bicycle purchase because I thought I had all I needed to use on unusual sized handlebars and still have not figured out what is missing to use them. They will only become useful when I can find the missing parts.

Perfect for the Porteur Handlebar
I was considering bar end shifters on the Velo Orange Porteur handlebar so selected these brake levers over the bar end brake levers. Perfect if you want to install bar end shifters with the Porteur handlebar. Simple, quality brake lever at a good price. Here's a link to blog article with photos[...]
