Easy to use, mostly reliable
Overall, I was satisfied with this product. My child's seizures were detected when she had her more violent ones. I do not recommend this for seizures with little physical movement. I caught many undetected seizures where the alarm did not go off. I also recommend a baby monitor with camera for all the "false" alarms. I was able to see in the monitor whether my child was having a seizure or simply rolling over. Ultimately my child did pass away from SUDEP in her bed overnight & the monitor never went off so do not purchase this product expecting miracles. For me, I was able to sleep better at night & felt I had done all I could.

Peace of mind!
My 14 yr. old son had his 1st grand-mal a year ago, and I found him in bed, lying on his back and covered in vomit. The anxiety the medical personnel showed over the possibility of him having aspirated the vomit made me do further research (because no one explained things to me). There is a syndrome similar to SIDS, called SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death from Epilepsy), often caused by the person aspirating and then choking to death on his/her own vomit.I did some research and found out about this monitor. (There were way too many horror stories about baby monitors failing to alert parents for one reason or another.) While not approved in the U.S. yet, it is apparently approved and used throughout the United Kingdom. The price is much better than some other seizure monitors, so I decided to try it.It's very easy to use and it has been a blessing! It is sensitive enough so that if I bounce my hand on the mattress for a few seconds, it sounds off. However, there is a delay of several seconds, so it doesn't go off every time by son turns over in bed. Don't let the picture intimidate you! It's a small box that sits on my son's nightstand (the dials control the sensitivity and time delay), with a cord connected to a small pad that slips under his mattress. I just make sure it's turned on each night, then go about my evening activities. It comes with 2 pagers, which you can wear or leave stationary. I have one at the back and one in the middle of the house, and I can hear them if they go off. (I've tested them.) I used to keep getting up compulsively at night to check on my son, but now I only do it once or twice a night - yes, paranoid mom, I admit it. ;-) Now I can finally sleep in peace.

unit stopped pairing to remote within 5 months.
This unit gave me peace of mind at first and I tested it. I lost that peace when I noticed that the unit had gone off and nothing went to the remote to alarm. I changed batteries and re-ran the setup and unit refused to pair with remote. I contacted support to see about a new remote or a hardwire alarm but no responce yet.
