YESWELDER Auto Darkening Welding Helmet 1/1/1/1 True Color, LYG-L600A

This welding & grinding face shield is high quality, well made, easily adjusted for head fit comfort, and comes with extra battery and both lens protection plastic covers. It was packed well and arrived next day. I decided to reuse the heavy plastic bag it came in to keep it dust free while stored on my welding cart. I’m impressed with how well it works. It quickly darkens, and the recovery time for it to go clear again has plenty of adjustment. I’ve got mine set at the fast side, so I can quickly assess the weld I just made. Shade darkness is easily set with your left had, and the knob is on the outside. The viewing area is small compared to the full face or the new panoramic style, but more than adequate. The shade control also can lock the shade to clear for grinding. Very slick, although I probably won’t use it for grinding. I’ve already used it to TIG weld a project I was working on, and did some 308 SS stick welds with it on another project. I was able to go from stick to TIG with a simple twist of the external darkness knob. Before darkening to weld, viewing is clear and natural looking. You can’t beat this welding shield for the price, and it even allows me to use my respirator with plenty of room between it and the face shield. The only complaint I had was the button battery used to power the shade was dead when it arrived. When I hit the shade test button nothing happened. I figured I would have to send the helmet back, but when I took the cover off the battery I found it incorrectly installed. The battery had draining completely do to this mistake, but I already had a spare supplied with my purchase. A quick swap out (with correct insertion), and it worked perfectly;-).

Great for beginners. I got this for my husband for a personal project and it worked well. It doesn’t blur the vision, fit well over his glasses. He was able to weld what he needed and a couple extra things with ease.

Ok so it works and it has survived 4 months of summer welding shop . 44-88lbs of mig wire per week. OK, here’s the bad about it. The headgear sucks. The shell sucks. It is the perfect hood for a weekend warrior. And it’s cheap!!! “Still worth it !!! I found out that the auto lens inner changes with a Hobart pillar shell . I provided pictures. I did have to drill a couple holes.

This is a great helmet. The viewing lens is nice and clear when using and it is comfortable to wear.

*UPDATE* Within hours of posting my original review, the seller reached out to me. They informed me they have since updated the hood so it does indeed have a replaceable battery. They offered me a refund or replacement hood. Exceptional customer service. Looking forward to receiving the updated hood. Original title and review: It was great... for 2 weld sessions I was impressed with this welding hood, at this price. It features excellent suspension with plenty of adjustments. My welding respirator fit perfectly without touching or feeling like the hood was too far from my face. The side tension knobs held securely and seemed like they would last. One of the reasons I chose this hood was the claim in the Amazon description that it had a replaceable battery—something many budget-friendly options lack (unless you're up for a soldering project). Unfortunately, my experience took a turn for the worse. The hood only lasted two days of intermittent welding before it stopped functioning. I assumed the factory-installed battery was either old or low-quality and planned to replace it based on the product description. Sadly, that turned out to be inaccurate—the battery is not replaceable. It’s a real disappointment because I was otherwise satisfied with the hood. Though inexpensive, I can’t justify risking another purchase only to be left without a functioning product once the return window closes.

It's a little lighter duty on the headgear and straps than I really like but it works very well. The controls are easy and the response time is fast! I had a name brand helmet but purchased this one because it broke. Just a really good deal price/features . I've used it for MiG and stick welding so far
