5 Year Warranty - Trunk Latch Bracket for Vw Jetta / Carrier Plate / Actuator Mount

Like other people here, I had that plastic piece in the bracket broken and couldn't open my trunk, I called the dealer and they wanted 105.50 $ just for the parts to replace it for me, and another 85 $ to actually install it so imagine!. I ordered this part and it arrived in 4 days, it's pretty solid and looks a lot thicker and stronger than the original plastic piece and even the bracket itself I might add. The AARodriguez Corp have a video on Youtube that shows you how to remove the old broken part and install the new one, it's a lot easier than I thought and the video is step by step so I suggest you look it up on youtube if you are like me haven't done this before... After having repaired this design disaster from VW multiple times with epoxy, sheet metal reinforcement and with junk yard parts, I finally found this part offered at a reasonable price, inexpensive shipping and an impressive warranty of 5 years. Shipping was quick and the part was a flawless fit. I stopped putting back the trunk interior panel years ago because of the never ending repairs so It took me less than 5 minutes to move over the actuator from the old part and re-install the new part. It worked perfectly.

The thing worked on my '04 jetta, but beware there is a square hole missing on the mounting bracket that is used for the emergency trunk release latch. There is another model on amazon that has it, the dorman 747-020. If I would have realized it I wouldn't have bought this one, but now that it's on I think i'll just find a way to make due. I don't plan on being locked in the trunk anytime.

Thank You!My trunk latch broke about a year and half ago and I just didn't use it.VW dealership wanted way to much to repair this item so i just unlatch myback seats when i needed something out of the trunk.This installation is actually very easy to do remove the trunk carpet screws and the unbolt the old broken bracket after disconnecting the power connection.Then plug in he new bracket and align the new bracket in place bolt down and TEST the latch prior to putting the Carpet back on.Once you are satisfied put the carpet back on and admire your work.

This showed up a day early and it fit perfectly. The best part is that now my trunk actually works!!! I found the same part at an auto parts store for $75, so I looked on Amazon and found this one. Incase you want to know I have a 2001 VW Jetta.

So far so good. Seems like good quality, just be careful during install... Lots of sharp metal edges on the inside of the trunk lid.

What else can I say? It fitted perfectly and it was easy to assemble, now I can open the trunk again!!!
