I don’t know what the difference is between this and the one I get with my prescription through my local pharmacy even though it’s the same milligrams this product is so much better. I was taking three a day of my usual 500 mg prescription oyster shell but my pharmacy temporarily ran out so I ordered this because I have to take osc daily because of a thyroidectomy I had a couple years ago, even with the three a day my hands, feet & arms would tingle and get numb, with only two a day of this product no more numbness and I am taking less pills a day. This stuff is wonderful. I’m so glad my pharmacy ran out because I discovered this product even though it is three times more expensive than my usual it is worth it, can’t wait to see what my endocrinologist has to say with my appointment next month. UPDATE: I ran out of this product so I went back to my pharmacy script and within 10 days numbness and tingling returned. I am now back on MAJOR oyster shell calcium, numbness&tingling stopped after 5 days! Major is the best! I am so thankful and I will never go back to my old script! I just love AMAZON for having so many wonderful products!!!!!
