Roller Derby Roller Star Women's Roller Skates White/Purple/Blue, 5

I purchased these roller skates to skate around in the basement with my daughter. They work just fine and are comfortable. I wear a size 8 1/2 in women's shoes. I usually purchase a 9 in sandals or flip flops since they don't usually come in 1/2 sizes. I ended getting these skates in a size 8 and I am glad I did. If I had went up to a 9 they would have been way to big. I like how they come up on the ankle for support, considering I am 35 and haven't roller skated much in the past 20 years. I really like the colors also.

I was inpsired by IndyJammaJone's videos on YouTube to get into skating. It looked so fun and like a great way to get exercise. And these skates are perfect! They're beautiful, well made, and are at a perfect price point for a college kid like me. They feel great on the feet and the wheels roll nicely but not too quick. The boots are super supportive of the foot and ankle and the white coloring also leaves room for some customization with markers haha. I would recommend thick socks just in case, cause roller skates in general tend to leave blisters. If you plan on skating for long stretches of time, some insoles might also help but they certainly aren't needed, the shoes are comfortable by themselves as well.

PRO: I have wide feet and these are VERY comfortable and I was able to skate for a few hours without foot pain.CONS: I tried these on for the first time at the skating rink. The wheels were misaligned as my left foot kept skating inward. I had the tech at the rink re-align both of the skates and they were better. The skate tech said these were low end. I need to adjust the wheels as skating takes a lot of effort compared to the rental skates.

I give this item 5 stars for one simple reason...It did all the jobs.First, the item was in good used condition, as expected. It showed up two days earlier, which wasn't expected but pleasantly welcomed.My daughter was beyond stoked to receive them and after begging for year, I caved to the request for her birthday.So, its 330, and she shows up from school and is thrilled, can barely wait to get them on.By 415, I was on the phone with emergency services getting her an ambulance for a broken arm.The fact that she is STILL as excited about these skates as she was before she broke her arm gets this item 5*s.Yesterday, she tried putting them on again.These skates are addictive.

Daughter loved the skates. Came as described. I replaced the bearings and recommend anybody who buys these does so. The stock bearings don't allow for very fast movement, which could be a plus for beginner skaters. Other than that, just a few small adjustments were needed to allow for proper turning, which can be done easily with a socket wrench.

So technically, "I" don't love this item as I purchased these skates for my daughter. However, she was ecstatic to get them! She's just moved from what I'd call "kid skates" (plastic...adjustable size...buckles instead of laces...etc.) to adult sizes. I didn't realize until I started shopping around that when you go from kid sizes to adult, there is quite a price jump! Seeing that she was only going to be using these to skate around the neighborhood (not in a rink or competing in roller derby or something) I didn't want to pay for anything all that fancy. These fit the bill. They're put together well and even using them on the pavement, they'll obviously hold up for quite a while.

These skates are beautiful in appearance! I am a size 7 1/2 wide width and the size 7 fit perfectly with a tad bit if room to spare. Very comfortable interior cushion too. I'm 56 and wanted to try skating again. The skates arrived on Jan. 10th as scheduled, I practiced skating around the house and headed to the Rink in Jan. 13 ready to go! Needless to say, when I inadvertently shifted my weight, I lost my balance, busted my butt and got a lump on the back of my head.... but I looked good in my Roller Derby skates! The only cons I can point out is that these are definitely beginner skates. They don't roll too easily on either laminate floors or the rink floor. You have to constantly move your feet. You'll roll for a few seconds, then have to push your feet again. That annoyed me a bit, especially at the rink. Other than that, not bad. I'll use them around the house from here on in . Lol

I bought these for my daughter so we could all skate together. What was important to me was that she would be able to skate both indoors and out, so these were a pleasant surprise. She has used these indoors and outdoors and they're great. I was concerned about ankle protection, but she has had no complaints. She's fallen a few times but has no problem getting back up. I also ordered a pair of adjustable skates from this same brand for my youngest daughter and I really like those as well. I love the classic look of these skates and, because they're white, we can airbrush them if we would like to. The colors are very feminine and the design of the skate is cute. The skate is sturdy, padded and high enough to provide stable ankle support. The wheels are made of polyurethane so they roll safely on concrete or asphalt.We bought blue pom poms for hers. All 3 of us have RD skates and I think they're phenomenal for entry level skates. I know a lot of people recommend $200+ skates, but these feel fine to me!

Me encantaron están hermosos!! Son muy buenos patines!! Yo soy talla 4 1/2 talla mexicana lo que sería como 7 1/2 Americana pero como no sabía si existían medios números pedí 8 (lo que sería talla 5 en Mexico) me quedaron medio número más grandes pero aún así con calceta gruesa los pude usar sin problemas, solo es ajustar bien las agujetas. Excelentes!!! Y muy bonitos!!!

Just waiting to hear back from other buyers about their experience with the flexing I'm having with the high-density plastic axles. It's been a whole lifetime since I last used roller skates, and about 85+ lbs ago, too. So it's probably normal, but my old skates were all-cast Dominion Precision derby skates back in the day as well, and probably just not as noticeable given the weight of the user at the time and the material of the trucks.For my preliminary review, I would say these fit true to size. I bought size 9. My feet are usually an 8, 8 1/2, but I wear orthotic insoles so I opted for the a size above. My feet are snug, and there is a lot of lacing capacity to tighten or loosen where necessary . The only gripe I have is that the boot laces up only so far and my weak ankles could have benefited from lacing going up at least one more eyelet. Oh well, I can think of other ways to secure the tops better, like a makeshift velcro strap if I find I really need it.I tried them out for a couple of hours with some skating around (low pile carpet, bare floor, and concrete), standing, and stopping.-While skating around, I would rate them as a beginner skate as the wheels are indeed slower moving, but that's a simple fix by replacing the wheels as I get more used to skating again. I had no problems transitioning to and from different surfaces.-Standing these are comfortable and since the wheels do not move as freely as more advanced wheels, I was balanced and stood in the them for close to an hour without issue.-Stopping is one of my challenges as I've only ever learned how to angle-skate stop without using the actual stoppers on the skates themselves. And since I was moving slower with these wheels, it was rather clumsy at best. So, I'll just have to learn how to use the stoppers ;-)Construction-wise, the high-density plastic trucks and axles make for a lighter skate than the old style ones, although I'm on the fence about the durability of them. The boots are vinyl uppers, but support inside the boot material and style of stitching increases the support of the ankles and feet, while the inside padding increases foot comfort while in the boot. I imagine they will scuff easily and are not meant for extraneous use everyday for hours on end. The manufacturer does have them noted as recreational quad skates, not derby or hard-use/daily skating.Once I find out about the flexing from other buyers, I'll update my review :)

This is my very first pair of skates and I was super excited, and these skates didn't disappoint me. Its a good pair for the price, looks cool too .. I love the colors on it. Regarding size, I am a Women's US 8.5, so I ordered a size 9, and it fits fine. Quality is good enough. I guess this is a good pair for beginners. I am happy with my purchase.
