You won't use the plastic cross bar except with paracord rope because the openings are so small. I took it off. Overall it is sturdy and at a lower price than the single model.

Works great!
I use thus primarily for my frogging system for deep vertical caves. Attaches my foot straps to my hand ascender. Works wonderfully.
