Awesome massager!!!
Wow! Wish I'd ordered this years ago. I'm over 60 now. Don't believe any reviews that say "it's not hot enough", or "it's too loud", or "it's not powerful enough", or "it's too cheap". They are total BS. This is very powerful and I agree that it's not lightweight, it weighs around 3 lbs. - maybe heavy for a wimp, but this is a man's massager. Great for the back, the neck, the feet. If you're in construction, truck driving, warehousing, etc., or maybe a Denny's waitress, or you work all day at Walmart standing up, just for you. Use it on your feet. I ordered this as an "open box" from Amazon warehouse, since I'm a Prime customer, two day delivery. It came without the extra attachments, only the metal heat attachment. So if you work for Wahl and want to send me the other attachments, just email me. Got three dollars off ordering "like new" open box. I probably wouldn't switch attachments anyway, the heat along with the massage is great!!! It is as quiet as you'd expect from a half horsepower (or five AMP) motor, you can't make a vibrating motor as quiet as your TV on mute, no way. It is louder than an apartment air conditioner, but not as loud as laptop speakers on 100%....let's put it that way. I doubt other more expensive massagers are any better.

Not the quality of my original but it works
It's just ok but very, very cheaply made. The buttons are constantly either shutting off or getting in the way and switching position, usually off so one has to constantly remember not to hold it as it is supposed to be held. I had to hold the body behind the nozzles to avoid it but it's awkward.Extremely cheap plastic oversized buttons often moving around due to their position and cheapness frustrated my using this. They move too easily and often shut off at the flick of even a fingernail. How did they expect one to hold it using the handle when one little move turns it off or on high (second button) when you shouldn't. This caused several freak outs as I was trying to work on a keloided scar over a metal plate. Low was tolerable but when it would jump to high I went through the roof a few times when it vibrated the screws.THis one is bigger and bulkier than the old one. The handle and body ratio is out of proportion and harder to hold comfortably when in use. Due to this it adds to often and frustratingly sliding the buttons out of the settings.I purchased this to replace my old one. I have a scar and scar tissue that I need heat to start my exercises and just massage to combat the keloided scar. It does the job but I was housebound after an accident or I would have gone out to a local store to compare and try it to see how badly the new manufactured unit has changed. The plus side is the heat works great. It's somewhat quiet.I only needed it for a few weeks and I did not understand the price difference between this one and the other I saw for $30+.

This tripped my circuit breaker and stasrted burning inside the unit. Unsafe.
The concept of a heat therapy heated therapeutic massager seemed like it would assist in my therapy to relieve severe pain. This was very highly rated. It seemed light and arrived with many attachments. I do not write reviews, usually if only a concern ( I need to be better st this). This product, I plugged in and it blew my circuit breaker switch and the unit itself had that awful awful electric burning smell. A little smoke appeared. I walked it outside to the driveway and sprayed the garden hose on this for 20 minutes and left it their. It is now in the out to the garbage. I am hoping others are not having this issue and this was just a one time thing.I would like to say the 4 stars is for Wahl customer service. I was offered a replacement, however declined. I was assisted on another Wahl product I own very quickly and with one of the best customer care experiences I have had with any company in a long time. I would recommend any product from this company in case you are in need to contact customer service. They will be taken care of very well and with respect. Thank you Wahl.

Highly Effective for Achilles Tendinosis and as a Hot Compress
I bought this as an experiment, and have found two great uses.1) Achilles Tendinosis. I have chronic achilles tendinosis, for which there is no cure. However, there is some literature and research floating around that suggests ultrasound can help increase blood flow to the tendon. This in turn increases flexibility/elasticity and rescues pain. After three days of use my pain was substantially reduced. After one week of 3x per day, five minute massages of the achilles my pain is completely gone. I can wake up and walk, and have resumed my 20-25 mile running regiment again.2) Hot Compress. I later developed a stye. One of the common procedure is to apply a hot compress. Hot compresses are wet and messy. I simply turn the heat-only switch on, wrap a thin paper tissue around the metal head that has the heating element, and within 15 seconds I have a hot compress. It also works well as a massager, as advertised.

DO NOT BUY THIS NEW VERSION OF THIS PRODUCT.
I have an older model, which merits 5 stars. However, this last one that I bought and was sent to me has a different design. The heat head is not round anymore. It is now oblong shaped. So something in the engineering has changed?i use this for facial massage for a sinus condition AND THIS NEWER MODEL IS TOO HOT... EVEN on the low mode, it is too hot to put to your face.I bought 3 of these - 2 for friends as christmas gifts and one for myself - which i just opened and tried at christmas - IF I COULD I WOULD RETURN IT - but sadly - i did not open it and test it right away. :-(- I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. try to find an older model if you can.
